WARNING! Please read this manual carefully, it contains information on the proper assembly and safe use of the barbecue. Please read and follow all warnings and instructions before assembling and using the barbecue. Please keep this manual for future reference.

WARNING! Failure to follow these instructions could result in fire, explosion or burn hazard which could cause property damage, personal injury or death.

CARBON MONOXIDE HAZARD! Burning wood gives off carbon monoxide, which has no odor and can cause death. Only use this barbecue outdoors and ensure proper ventilation.

WARNING! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or relighting! Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3!

WARNING! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move it during operation.

WARNING! Keep children and pets away.

Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.

Do not use indoors! Do not use the barbecue in a confined and/or habitable space e.g. houses, tents, caravans, motor homes, boats. Danger of carbon monoxide poisoning fatality.

ASSEMBLY OF THE BARBECUE

Beware of the packages placed around the barbecue. When removing the outer packaging, parts can fall out and get damaged.

Ensure barbecue is assembled correctly, following this manual, before use.

Be careful when handling parts of the barbecue, there is danger of entrapment.

Handle with caution; product has sharp edges.

Only use the product when the cooking surface is mounted in the appropriate brackets following this manual.

Be cautious with the powdercoated steel parts of the barbecue as they could scratch easily.

When placing the top part of the barbecue on the stand, always lift with at least 2 people.

SETTING UP THE BARBECUE

The barbecue has to be installed on a secure level base prior to use

Always use the barbecue in accordance with all applicable local, state and federal fire codes.

Before each use check all nuts, screws and bolts to make sure they are tight and secure.

Keep a minimum 3 meter (10ft.) clearance of all combustible materials such as wood, dry plants, grass, brush, paper or canvas.

Maintain a minimum distance of 3 meters (10ft.) from overhead construction, walls, rails or other structures.

Keep a fire extinguisher (BC or ABC) accessible at all times while operating the barbecue.

Do not move the barbecue over uneven surfaces.

Do not use the barbecue on wooden or flammable surfaces.

Ensure that the ash tray is installed before using the product, not doing so may damage the product.

Make sure the brakes are applied before using the product.

When using the side table accessory, make sure the table is properly installed following this manual

LIGHTING THE BARBECUE

It is recommended not to exceed a maximum wood usage of 1.3kg

Use of alcohol, prescription or non-prescription drugs may impair user's ability to assemble or safely operate the barbecue.

Never overfill. Only place wood inside the ashtray and do not stack higher or underneath the cooking surface. Doing so may cause damage or injury.

We recommend using completely dry softwood to fuel the barbecue. We advise against the use of hardwood, as it may damage the product.

Next to following the 1st use instructions in this manual, it is recommended that the barbecue shall be heated up and the wooden coals kept red hot for at least 30 min prior to the first cooking.

During first use, light the wood in one spot only. Lighting the wood in multiple spots creates a rapid temperature rise which can cause damage to the barbecue.

Be cautious; the heated food storage can become too hot when not following the correct lighting and fuel instructions. This may result in damage or injury.

TUNING AND HANDLING THE BARBECUE

Do not use more oil than necessary when cooking on the plancha, as this can cause flare-ups.

Water or other moisture on product during use can cause flare ups.

In the event of an oil or grease fire do not attempt to extinguish with water. Immediately call the fire department. Using a type “BC” or “ABC” fire extinguisher may, in some circumstances, contain the fire.

The barbecue has an open flame. Keep hands, hair and face away from flames. Do NOT lean over the grill when lighting. Loose hair and clothing may catch fire.

Do not touch HOT surfaces of the barbecue without the use of suitable protective gloves.

Always read the manual of the protective gloves used, and respect its limitations.

Product stays hot for a long period after use. Let the product cool down completely before storage or placing near flammable surfaces.

Be cautious of smoke, as it can cause eye irritation.

Do not load one sidetable of the plancha with more than 15 kg.

Ash and coals can smolder for a long time, make sure they are completely extinguished before you dispose of them.

Never leave the barbecue unattended while it is lit.

Be careful when removing food from grill. All surfaces are HOT and may cause burns. Use protective gloves/ mitts and long, sturdy cooking tools for protection from hot surfaces or splatter from cooking liquids.

Never leave the barbecue unattended. Especially during the initial uses, it's important to become familiar with how the temperatures behave across the cooking plate. We strongly advise closely monitoring your food products during this time.

Do not obstruct flow of combustion and ventilation. Doing so can cause damage to the barbecue.

Never extinguish the wooden fire with water, this can cause damage to the barbecue.

During the first three times you use the barbecue, let the temperature gradually increase to prevent damage to the barbecue.

CLEANING AND CARE FOR THE BARBECUE

Due to extended exposure to humidity and sunlight, the coating and steel elements of the barbecue may undergo degradation and corrosion over time. During at least the warranty period, any such deterioration should not impair the functionality of the barbecue.

Always clean cooking surface from any residual matter before cooking.

Protect the product from rain by placing a protective cover or store in a dry location. Always store the side tables indoors to prevent damage.

The cooking plate is prone to increased corrosion if it's not adequately seasoned with oil. If the cooking plate remains unused for an extended period, it is advisable to apply oil or a care spray every 15-30 days. We recommend using plant-based oils exclusively for this purpose.

If the cooking plate has not been utilized for an extended duration, we recommend warming up the barbecue and cleaning the surface thoroughly before cooking.

First use instructions

1. Ignite the fire and let it burn for at least 30 minutes.
2. Add oil with a high smoke point (+200° celsius) to the cooking plate and let it mix with the oil already applied. WARNING! Be careful around the fire, oil ignites easily when coming into contact with the fire.
3. Clean the cooking plate by scraping off the oil.
4. Apply oil to the cooking plate and you can start cooking! After use, always make sure the cooking plate remains fully covered in oil to minimize rust build-up.

This product is mostly made of steel parts. We have selected the best materials for this product, however over time corrosion will occur. Our warranty does not cover surface corrosion. Make sure to check the product's stability and strength (tighten bolts and nuts) before every use. Some tips on minimizing rust: Prevent the product from standing in the rain by storing it in a dry space or cover it with a raincover. Oil in steel parts, including the cooking plate.

POWDERCOATING

Due to weather and sunlight the coating can be subject to discolouration.

SIDE TABLE

Always remove the bamboo side table after use and store it indoors to prevent damage for water and humidity.

OIL & FOOD LIQUIDS

During cooking oil and food liquids can spatter on and inside the product. The top of the product has been designed to be able to dissemble and clean properly. Always, after a couple of uses and letting it completely cool down, clean the barbecue to prevent dirt and oil build-up.

HOT COALS & ASHES

Always leave the fire to burn out completely. Dependent on ambient weather and temperatures this may take a very long time. Do not throw away ashes until you've let them cool down completely to prevent accidental fires or injury.
