Frequently Asked Questions - EB27 Duronic

How to prepare the egg cooker for first use?
Before first use, rinse the egg cooker and its accessories (lid, egg holder, measuring cup) with clean water. Place the appliance on a dry, flat surface.
How much water to use for soft-boiled, medium-boiled, or hard-boiled eggs?
Use the provided measuring cup: the markings indicate water levels for different cooking levels. For example, for hard-boiled eggs, fill to the 'DUR' or similar marking. Pour the water into the water container.
Should eggs be pierced before cooking?
Yes, pierce the wide end of each egg with the egg piercer located under the measuring cup. This prevents eggs from cracking during cooking.
How to activate the keep warm function?
After cooking, turn the switch to the right ('Keep Warm' position). The appliance will keep the eggs warm. To turn off, turn the switch to the left.
How to easily peel cooked eggs?
Plunge the cooked eggs into cold water for a few minutes, then gently roll them on a flat surface to crack the shell. The shell will come off more easily.
How to clean the egg cooker after use?
Unplug the appliance and let it cool. Clean the base (water container and heating plate) with a damp cloth. Wash the lid, egg holder, and measuring cup in warm water with mild detergent. Dry all parts before storing.
How to descale the appliance?
Fill the measuring cup with a mixture of lemon juice and water, pour into the water container, then let it simmer briefly. Turn off, let cool, empty and wipe the heating plate with a damp cloth.
Can the appliance be used without water?
No, never use the appliance without water in the water container or without the cooking insert. This could damage the appliance.
What if the appliance does not turn on?
Check that the appliance is properly plugged in and that the switch is in the middle position. If the indicator light does not turn on, check the power outlet. If the problem persists, contact customer service.
Can I use metal or abrasive accessories for cleaning?
No, avoid rough or abrasive materials as they may scratch the heating plate and surfaces. Use only soft cloths and non-corrosive detergents.
