4. Initial use

Check if the product and the components are intact and if the device is working properly when using it for the first time. Remove the product from the packing and remove the plastic strip, which is protruding out of the battery compartment on the back side of the energy cost meter.

Connect the electrical devices, whose energy consumption has to be recorded, to the meter. Then plug the energy cost meter into a properly installed earthed socket.

The device is now ready for use. Detailed information regarding the operation and settings is given in the following sections in this user manual.

Caution! The time measurement stops when the consumption value is below 0.5 W.

If the energy cost meter does not start, plug the device into the socket for 24 hours and press the "Reset" button for a few seconds.

4.1 Resetting the device

The device can be reset if an abnormal reading appears or the buttons do not respond. Press the RESET button for this purpose.

5.1 Timer display

The timer display shows the duration in which the power was consumed. The following points should be noted:

  • The power consumption of the connected device must be at least 0.5 W for the time measurement to continue.
  • The display is reset after 24 hours. The "Day" value of the COST display is incremented by 1 in this case.
  • The display shows "0:00". The digits in front of the colon indicate the minutes, the ones after it indicate the seconds. After 60 minutes, "0:00" is displayed again, with the digits in front of the colon indicating the hours and the ones after it indicating the minutes.

5.2 Scrolling through the displays

After plugging in, the entire display is shown for about 1 second. The device then switches over automatically.

The first line of the display shows the power. Press the "ENERGY" button to change between the modes. The data is shown as follows:

Power → Voltage → Current → Frequency → Power Factor → Power

The second line of the display shows the accumulated costs. Press "COST" to display the following data:

Cumulative kWh → Cumulative electrical costs → Cumulative amount of CO2 → Cumulative time DAY (days) → Cost € / kWh → Cumulative kWh

6. Entering the energy price

  1. Press the "SET" button for 3 seconds to access the electricity costs setting in €/kWh. The display shows "COST" and the set value (e.g. €1.00/kWh).
  2. Press the "UP" button to set the first value.
  3. Press the "SET" button to select the next digit. Use the "UP" button to set the digit again.
  4. Repeat the process until the desired data is set.
  5. Press the "COST" button to end the setting.

Note: After 10 seconds, the device automatically returns to the default display mode without having to press any button.

6.1 Overload limit

Note: The energy cost meter is designed for a maximum power of 3680 watts. Do not set the overload limit above this value and do not connect any devices whose energy consumption is more than 3680 watts.

If the energy consumption exceeds the overload limit, then this is indicated by a flashing "OVERLOAD" in the overload display.

7. Warranty declaration

The manufacturer provides a warranty of 2 years for this product with respect to workmanship and material. Warranty repairs should only be carried out by an authorized customer service centre. The original sales document should be enclosed as proof.

The following are excluded from warranty: normal wear and tear, modifications, reworks, damage caused by carelessness, external influences, applications for which the product was not designed or products dismantled completely or partially.

8. Important tips

  • The meter is only suitable for indoor use.
  • Please do not connect in series.
  • Disconnected only when the plug is removed.
  • Use the meter only in dry condition.
  • The specified maximum electric power should not be exceeded.
  • There are no special ventilation requirements for this product. For safety reasons, please ensure that the product is not covered or exposed directly during use
  • If the device is not used for a long period of time or if the readings are incorrect, then the internal battery may be empty. Plug the device into the socket for approx. 24 hours to charge the integrated battery.

- Do not connect any device whose load exceeds 16 A. Always make sure that the device plug is completely inserted into the socket of the meter. If the meter needs to be cleaned, disconnect it from the power supply and wipe it with a dry cloth.
