Frequently Asked Questions - 561686 Intellinet

How to install the Intellinet 561686 switch?
Installation is plug and play: connect Ethernet cables, plug in power, and the device operates automatically. No software configuration is required.
What is the total PoE budget and how is it distributed?
The total PoE budget is 65 watts. Port 1 delivers up to 60 W (high power), ports 2, 3, and 4 up to 30 W each (IEEE 802.3at/af).
How to activate Extend mode and what is it used for?
Use the slide switch on the panel to set EXTEND mode. This mode reduces the speed to 10 Mbps and extends PoE distance up to 250 meters, while enabling VLAN MTU.
What do the LED indicators mean?
The LEDs indicate: Link (yellow): active connection; PoE (green): PoE power being delivered; SPD (green): speed 100 Mbps (solid) or 10 Mbps (blinking); PWR (green): device powered on.
Can I power non-PoE devices?
No, PoE ports only provide power to PoE-compatible devices (IEEE 802.3af/at). For non-PoE devices, use a PoE injector or connect them to the uplink ports (non-PoE).
What type of Ethernet cable should I use?
Use Cat5e minimum cable for optimal performance and correct PoE distance.
How to ground the switch?
Connect the grounding terminal on the rear panel to a grounding object (e.g., earth ground) to protect the device from voltage surges.
Does the switch support VLANs?
In EXTEND mode, the switch enables VLAN MTU (Multi-Tenant Unit) which isolates traffic between PoE ports and uplink ports. In STANDARD mode, no VLAN is configured.
What to do if a PoE device does not power on?
Check that the PoE LED is lit on the corresponding port. Make sure the connected device is PoE-compatible and the total consumption does not exceed 65 W. Test with a different cable.
Can I use the switch with an external power supply?
The switch operates with a mains power supply 100-240 V AC, 50/60 Hz via the included power cord. It is not designed for external power supply other than the specified one.
