⚠️ Important safety guidelines for this appliance

- This appliance is meant exclusively for personal use and for the intended purpose. This appliance is not intended for commercial use.

- Do not use the appliance outdoors and keep it away from heat sources (e.g. electric stove) and direct sunlight. Please do not keep the appliance in immediate proximity to water sources (e.g., washbasin).

- Do not use this appliance with wet hands.

- Keep it on an suitable surface so that it does not tip over.

- Disconnect the power plug from the mains socket when the appliance is not

being used or for cleaning.

• Operate the appliance in accordance with the voltage that is indicated on the appliance label.
• This device is not intended to be used, cleaned or maintained by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge.

Unless they are supervised by a person who is responsible for their safety or have received instructions from this person about how the appliance is to be used.

- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

- In the interest of child safety, do not leave any packaging material (plastic

bags, cardboard, polystyrene, etc.) lying around.

• Fill the water tank only with cold water and do not boil the remaining water a second time.
• Do not move the appliance when it is being operated.
• Do not open the lid during operation, it could cause burns!
• Steam escapes from the top of the appliance during operation, maintain distance from the escaping steam.
• The heating element remains hot for some time even after the appliance is switched off. Ensure that nobody touches the inside of the container. There is a risk of burns!

• Use the appliance only with the supplied shut-off device.

• Provide clearance to other objects and walls so that the air can circulate freely. Do not cover the appliance.

• Do not boil any liquids other than water.
• The housing of the kettle becomes hot during operation. Therefore hold the kettle only using the handle provided for this purpose.
• If the power cable is damaged, then it should be replaced by the manufacturer, his specialist dealer or an equally qualified person, so as to prevent any risk.
• In the process, children should use or clean the appliance only under supervision or guidance.
• Do not overfill the kettle, otherwise water may pour out.
• The water level should be between the maximum and minimum marks!

4. Initial use

Check that the product and the components are intact and that the device is working properly when using it for the first time. Remove the kettle, the base station and all the accessories out of the packaging and connect the base to a properly installed and earthed 230V AC socket.

Wipe the surface of the kettle using a slightly dampened cloth. To remove any manufacturing residues, fill the water container once with cold water up to the maximum mark before using it for the first time. Boil the water by pressing the "Power" button on the base station once. Discard the water after the initial boiling. Repeat this procedure two to three times.

This appliance is intended for domestic use and other similar applications like: in the staff kitchen in shops, offices and other business areas, in agricultural properties, by customers in hotels, motels and other residential facilities as well as in B&Bs.

Caution! Please remember that the boiling process may be interrupted briefly below 100°C by intermediate measurements. Please wait until the boiling is completed, which is confirmed by the beep. The heating element switches off automatically and the boiling process is stopped. The appliance can now be lifted and the water can be used.

5. Usage with standard lid for water boiling function (1)

Press the Lid-opener. You can now remove the lid (E) using the opener. Fill the kettle (A) with cold water, place the lid (E) and press the opener down until it clicks.

Note: A scale is provided on the outside. Do not fill the container above the maximum mark. The boiling water may spurt out if the kettle is overfilled.

Then, place the kettle (A) on the base station (F). The buttons for selecting different water temperatures are located on the control panel of the base station. Press the desired "temperature" button (70°C, 80°C, 90°C or 100°C) and press the "Power" button to start. The boiling process starts automatically after about three seconds. As soon as the water reaches the set temperature, the kettle switches off and you hear two beeps. The heating element switches off automatically and the boiling process is stopped. The appliance can now be lifted and the water can be used.

5.1. Usage with tea strainer lid (2)

The standard lid of the kettle can be replace with the tea strainer lid (B). To open the stainer, rotate it slightly in the counter-clockwise direction. Pour your tea and close the stainer again. Place the strainer lid (B) on the kettle (A) until it clicks into place. The tea filter should only be dipped into the water when the desired temperature is reached. Using the rod, you can determine the time and duration of brewing the tea.

CAUTION!

• Note the Max Tea mark for preparing the tea. Boil a maximum of 1.2 litres of water. The tea strainer is dripping!
• Some types of tea may produce froth! Hence lower the strainer only after the set temperature is reached!
- Please remember that the teapot (D) cannot be attached to the kettle. You should therefore take extra care when using the tea strainer lid.

5.2 Usage for Turkish tea (3)

Pour water into the kettle. Always note the minimum and maximum mark. Then place the kettle on the base station.

Fill the tea filter (C) with about 1/3 with Turkish tea and put the tea filter (C) into the teapot (D).

Place the teapot (D) along with the tea filter (C) on the kettle. Ensure that the kettle is not covered by the lid. The bottom of the kettle replaces the lid in this case. CAUTION! However, it does not protect against leakage etc.

Start the boiling process of the kettle by selecting the desired water temperature, and then press the "Power" button on the base station. Fill the teapot (D) together with tea filter (C) with boiled water after boiling. Then fill the kettle with fresh water.

Place the teapot back on the kettle and start the boiling process again. If you want to keep the tea warm, you can activate the keep-warm function as desired. The tea can now be diluted as required with hot water from the kettle.

Note: Turkish tea should be left to brew for about 20 minutes to get a better taste.

5.3. "KEEP-WARM FUNCTION"

The "keep-warm" function allows you to maintain a specific temperature. You can choose from the following temperatures using the buttons: 70°C, 80°C or 90°C. Then press "keep warm" to start followed by the "Power" button. The LED starts flashing. Following this, the kettle heats to the set value and maintains this temperature for 30 minutes.

Caution! The keep-warm function supports only the temperatures of 70^ C, 80^ C and 90^ C.

6. Descaling and cleaning

We recommend to descale the kettle at regular intervals depending upon the intensity of use. Before cleaning, pull out the power plug and wait until the appliance cools down completely. Please use only commercially available descaling agents based on citric acid to descale the water container. For the appropriate dosage, please refer to the specifications on the package or insert of the descaling agent. The heating plate should not be specifically cleaned. Do not use any hard objects on the heating plate. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning the kettle externally. Do not use any abrasive items like wire brush or steel sponge for cleaning. Never use any cleaning agents which may corrode the surface or present a health risk if consumed!

Never immerse the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water or in any other liquid to prevent risk of electric shock.

7. Safety instructions and disclaimer

Check the device for any damage before using it. The device should not be used if it has been subject to impact or has been damaged in any other way. Please follow the local regulations and restrictions.

Do not use the device for purposes other than those described in this manual. This product is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children or mentally disabled

persons. Use the appliance only with the base plate supplied. Any repairs or modifications to the appliance not carried out by the original supplier will void any warranty and guarantee claims.

The appliance should be used only by persons who have read and understood this user manual. The specifications of the device may be changed without special prior notice.

8. Disposal instructions

In line with the European WEEE directive, electrical and electronic devices should not be disposed of along with domestic waste. Their components have to be separately sent for recycling or disposal, because improper disposal of toxic and dangerous components may permanently damage the environment. According to the electronic equipment act (ElektroG), you are obliged (as a consumer) to return (free of charge) all electrical and electronic devices to the manufacturer, the point of sale, or public collection points at the end of their service life. The relevant local laws regulate the details in this regard. The symbol displayed on the product, in the user manual or/and on the packaging refers to these regulations. With this manner of sorting, recycling and disposal of used devices, you make an important contribution towards protecting our environment.
