4. Initial use

Check that the product and the components are intact and that the appliance is working properly when using it for the first time. Remove the kettle and the base station out of the packaging and connect the base to a properly installed earthed socket.

Wipe the surface of the kettle using a slightly dampened cloth. To remove any manufacturing residues, fill the water container once with cold water up to the maximum mark before using it for the first time. Boil the water on by pressing the "ON/OFF (☐)" button and then pressing the "ON/OFF (☐)" button once again. The 100°C starts flashing on the sensor bar. The currently measured temperature lights up. Discard the water after the initial boiling.

This appliance is intended for domestic use and similar applications such as: In staff kitchens, in shops, offices and other business areas, in agricultural properties, by customers in hotels, motels and other residential facilities as well as B&Bs. Do not operate the appliance unattended and check it for damage and proper assembly before using it each time.

5. Usage

Pull the knob on the lid to lift the lid. Fill the kettle with cold water and press the lid down until it locks into place.

Note: A scale is provided on the inside. Do not fill the container above the maximum mark. The boiling water may spurt out if the kettle is overfilled.

  1. Place the kettle on the base.
  2. Press the "ON/OFF (⏻)" button on the base station to switch on the appliance.
  3. A sensor bar is provided on the base station for selecting various water temperatures.
  4. Press the respective section of the sensor bar that corresponds to the temperature that you desire. The selected target temperature is now displayed on the sensor bar for checking.
  5. Press the "ON/OFF (N)" button once again to start the boiling function. The target temperature now starts flashing in the display, and the temperature attained at present is continuously shown in the illuminated sections of the display. At temperatures less than or equal to 40^ C , the 40^ C display glows constantly. At 60^ C the 40^ C - 60^ C section glows constantly, etc., till the target temperature is reached.
  6. If a target temperature that is less than the current water temperature is selected, the kettle stops the boiling function immediately, and indicates this by a long beep.
  7. As soon as the water reaches the set temperature, the kettle switches off and you hear two beeps. The heating element switches off automatically and the boiling process is stopped. The appliance can now be lifted and the water can be used.

Note: The kettle saves the last temperature setting.

5.1 "KEEP WARM" function

The "KEEP WARM" function allows you to maintain a set temperature. Press the "ON/OFF (☐)" button on the base station to switch on the appliance. Select a temperature using the sensor bar. Then press "KEEP WARM (☐)" to start the process. Following this, the kettle heats to the set value and maintains this temperature for 2 hours.

5.2 Turning off the key sounds

To turn off the key sounds, press and hold the "ON / OFF ( )" button and the "KEEP WARM ( )" button simultaneously for about 2-3 seconds. Repeat the procedure if you want to switch on the key sounds again.

Caution! Some sounds should not be turned off for safety reasons.

6. Descaling and cleaning

We recommend to descale the kettle at regular intervals depending upon the intensity of use. Before cleaning, pull out the power plug and wait until the appliance cools down completely. The anti-scale filter is located in front of the spout opening. Open the lid and press the plastic tab of the anti-scale filter down to remove the filter. Rinse the filter thoroughly using warm water and then replace it back into its position. When replacing, ensure that the anti-scale filter sits properly in the guide rail. Please use only commercially available descaling agents based on citric acid to descale the water container. For the appropriate dosage, please refer to the specifications on the package or insert of the descaling agent. The heating plate should not be specifically cleaned. Do not use any hard objects on the heating plate. Use only a damp cloth for cleaning the kettle externally. Do not use any abrasive items like wire brush or steel sponge for cleaning. Never use any cleaning agents which may corrode the surface or present a health risk if consumed! Never immerse the appliance, the power cable or the plug in water or in any other liquid to prevent risk of electric shock.
