Important safety instructions

- This device may only be used in accordance with its intended purpose and for private use.

- It is not for commercial application.

- This device is only designed for indoor use. Keep it away from heat sources (e.g. electric stove), high temperatures and direct sunlight.

- Do not place the kettle near waters sources like basins.

- To prevent the unit from dropping over, make sure that the support surface is stable.

• Children must be supervised in order to make sure that they do not play with this device.

- Keep packaging items (plastic bags, carton, styrofoam, etc.) out of reach of children, as they represent a potential source of danger.

- Only fill the water tank with fresh cold water and do not cook remaining water a second time.

- Do not move the machine while it is operating.

- Never open the cover during brewing process, this could lead to burns.

- Keep away from emitting water vapour during brewing process.

Otherwise it can cause burns.

• After brewing the heating element stays hot for a while. Make sure that nobody touches the inside of the kettle to avoid burns!
- The unit may only be operated by using the provided parking device.
- Pull the plug if the device is not used or you clean it.
- Only operate the device within the given voltage as seen on the rating label.
- Allow sufficient space between this unit and other devices and walls to ensure proper ventilation. Do not cover the device.

- Do not cook any other liquids than water.

- During operation the housing becomes hot. Therefore only touch the unit by its intended handle.

- Do not overfill the kettle in order to avoid water leakage. Children may only use the product under supervision and guidance concerning the use and cleaning of the product.

- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or its service agent or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid a hazard.

4. Initial start-up

Please remove the kettle and base station from the packing and clean the unit with a damp cloth. Then connect the basis only to a properly installed grounded socket.

Before regular use, fill the water reservoir with cold water to its maximum level and boil according the following instructions. Thereafter discard the water in order to remove any residues of the production process. Boil the water by pressing the "Power" button on the grip. Repeat this two or three times.

This device is designed for household use and similar applications only, such as for example:

  • in employee cafeterias, in stores, offices and other working environments;
  • by customers in hotels, motels and other residential facilities;
  • in Bed and Breakfast establishments;
  • in farm houses.

5. Handling without tea strainer for boiling function

Press the opening button to unlock the cover and remove it. Then fill the Arendo kettle with cold water and close the cover by pressing down the button until it locks.

Important note: On the outside there is a scale. Please make sure not to fill in more than the maximum level as marked on the scale. If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water can be ejected.

Put the kettle on the base. On the grip there are buttons for selecting different water temperatures. Press the “Power” button to start the kettle, choose your desired temperature by pressing “+/-” button. The kettle will start boiling automatically after three seconds. As soon as the water reaches the target temperature, the kettle switches off and it will produce two short beeps. The heating element switches off automatically and the process has been completed. Now the unit can be lifted up and the water can be used.

5.1. Handling with tea strainer lid

You can replace the standard lid of the kettle with the tea strainer lid. To open the filter, turn it counterclockwise a bit. Dispense the amount of tea you wish to use and close the filter. Replace the normal cover with the tea filter cover. The tea strainer should only be immersed in water if the desired temperature has been reached. You can control the brewing time by pulling out the plunger.

ATTENTION! To prepare tea, refer to the TeaMax mark. Boil 1.2 litres (max.) of water. The tea strainer will continue to drip!

ATTENTION! Some teas can foam! Therefore, lower the tea strainer only after reaching the target temperature!

5.2. "KEEP WARM"

The “KEEP WARM” function allows you to maintain a specific temperature. Press “Power” and select a temperature with “+/-”. Make sure you are only able to select only 40 °C, 70 °C or 80 °C. Once you have selected your desired temperature, press the “Power” button for about three seconds. The LED will start flashing. Then the kettle heats up to the previously set value and holds it.

6. Decaling and cleaning

We recommend decalcifying the kettle in regular intervals, depending on the intensity of use. Before cleaning, it is essential to remove the power plug from the socket and wait until the device is completely cooled down. Only use conventional decaling agents based on citric acid. Please follow the manufacturer's instructions for dosing the respective product you have chosen. The heating element must not be cleaned and never be processed with sharp or hard objects. For cleaning the outer surface of the kettle, only use a damp cloth. Never use hard or abrasive objects like a wire brush or a steel-sponge for cleaning. Please do not use any aggressive cleaning agents which could be harmful for human consumption or damage the surface.

7. Safety instructions and disclaimer

Do not attempt to service this product by yourself as opening or removing covers may result in fire, electric shock or equipment damage. The kettle is only disconnected from the voltage system when the plug has been removed from the socket. Please avoid any contact to the electric current. Pull out the plug before lightning storms or if you do not regularly use this product, to prevent a short- circuit. This device is only licensed for indoor use and dry areas.

Please protect it from water, rain, snow or high humidity and keep it away from high temperatures and direct sunlight. Do not expose this product to extreme and sudden changes of temperature or heavy vibrations; this may lead to damage of the internal electronic part of this unit. Check kettle for signs of damage before putting it in operation. In case the device received any damage, it should not be used. Please contact our customer support. Please observe the relevant national provisions and legal restrictions. Do not use the device for anything other than intended and as described in the manual. Any attempt of repairs or alterations by someone other than the original supplier will invalidate the guarantee and result in refusal of warranty claims. The machine may only be used by persons who are familiar with the operating manual and the applicable regulations concerning working safety and accident prevention.
