Frequently Asked Questions - AB-1000 NewAir

How to adjust the temperature of the AB-1000 refrigerator?
Use the temperature control knob inside. Levels range from 1 (warmest) to 5 (coldest). Set it according to your needs. To turn off the compressor, set it to 0.
Can I reverse the door opening direction?
Yes, the door is reversible. Unplug the appliance, remove the upper and lower hinges, then reinstall them on the opposite side. Use a Phillips and flathead screwdriver.
How to clean the interior of the cooler?
Unplug the appliance and remove all items. Clean the interior with a solution of warm water and baking soda (2 tablespoons per liter). Wipe the shelves with a mild detergent. Dry completely before plugging back in.
What to do if the refrigerator makes a loud or unusual noise?
Check that the appliance is level and on a stable surface. Move it away from walls or objects. Compressor humming and refrigerant cracking sounds are normal, especially at start-up or shut-off.
The interior light does not turn on, what should I do?
Ensure the appliance is plugged in and the LED switch (inside, right side) is on. If the bulb is burnt out, it can be replaced. Contact support if needed.
The refrigerator is not cooling enough, what are the possible causes?
Check that the door is properly closed, not opened too long, the temperature setting is sufficient (level 5 for coldest), and the appliance is not exposed to sunlight or near a heat source. Also ensure 10 cm clearance around for ventilation.
How much space should be left around the appliance for proper ventilation?
Leave at least 10 cm (4 inches) of free space above, at the back, and on the sides. This allows sufficient air circulation for the compressor and condenser.
How to prepare the appliance for long-term storage?
Unplug it, empty it, clean it, dry completely, then leave the door open to prevent mold. You can place a towel inside to absorb residual moisture.
What is the power consumption of the AB-1000 model?
The consumption is 60 W, which corresponds to about 0.06 kWh per hour of operation. As an indication, the annual cost depends on your electricity rate and usage.
What to do if the appliance is defective under warranty?
Contact NewAir customer service by phone (1-855-963-9247) or email (support@newair.com). Have your proof of purchase ready. The 1-year warranty covers parts and labor, but not shipping costs.
