How to install the Lorex W461ASD-EG camera?

Download the Lorex Home app, create an account, plug in the camera via USB, then follow the in-app instructions to connect it to your Wi-Fi network.

What to do if the camera won't connect to Wi-Fi?

Check that the camera is near the router. Reset it by holding the reset button. The indicator should blink green. Retry the setup in the app.

How to view recordings?

Open the Lorex Home app, go to the Timeline tab to access videos recorded on the micro SD card. You can also enable manual recording.

The camera makes a clicking sound at night, is that normal?

Yes, this clicking is normal. It comes from the mechanical IR filter that switches automatically between day and night mode.

Can I use the camera outdoors?

No, this camera is designed for indoor use only. Do not install it outdoors.

How to reset the camera to factory settings?

Press and hold the reset button on the back of the camera for about 10 seconds until the indicator blinks red.

What does the rapidly blinking red light mean?

This indicates a micro SD card error. Remove and reinsert the card or try another one.

How to activate Privacy Mode?

In the Lorex Home app, go to camera settings and enable the Privacy Mode option to disable the video stream.

Can I flip the image if the camera is mounted upside down?

Yes, in the camera settings in the app, enable Image Rotation to flip the image 180 degrees.

What type of micro SD card is compatible?

A micro SD card (not included) is required for recording. Use an industrial-grade card for better reliability. Refer to the manual for recommended capacities.

• This camera includes an Auto Mechanical IR Cut Filter. When the camera changes between Day/Night viewing modes, an audible clicking noise may be heard from the camera. This clicking is normal, and indicates that the camera filter is working.

Step One: Connect to the app

1. Scan the QR code on this page to download the free Lorex Home app from the App Store or Google Play Store.

2. Open the Lorex Home app.

3. Sign in or sign up and create an account.

4. Connect the USB power cable to the camera and plug the USB power adapter into an outlet.

5. Once the status indicator on the camera is flashing green and the startup chime sounds, tap the + icon to add your camera.

6. Scan the device QR code. If your mobile device cannot scan the QR code, tap Manually enter Device ID.

7. Follow the in-app instructions to complete the setup.

Camera placement

• Place the camera as close to your Wi-Fi router or access point as possible.
• Reduce the number of obstructive materials between the camera and the router or access point. Concrete, brick, metal and wood are the most common materials in your house that can cause poor signal strength.
• Other electronic devices such as microwaves, TVs, cordless phones, and baby monitors can cause signal interference. It is recommended to install the camera as far away from these devices as possible.

Step Two: Mounting the camera (optional)

1. Use the mounting template to mark two holes for the screws.
2. Drill holes using a 1/4" (6mm) drill bit. If mounting to masonry or drywall, gently tap the anchors into the holes.
3. Align the magnetic mounting plate with the drilled holes.
4. Using a Philips screwdriver and two screws secure the magnetic mounting plate in position.
5. Place the camera base onto the magnetic mounting plate.
6. Angle and rotate the camera's position as needed.
7. Open the camera's settings in the app and enable Image Rotation to flip the camera image.
