• The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

• Use this appliance only in the closed position.

• Be sure the nonstick grill plates and drip tray are assembled to the base properly (see HOW TO USE).

This product is for household use only. POLARIZED PLUG This appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). To reduce the risk of electric shock, this plug is intended to t into a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not t fully into the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not t, contact a qualied electrician. Do not attempt to modify the plug in any way. TAMPER-RESISTANT SCREW

Warning: This appliance is equipped with a

tamper-resistant screw to prevent removal of the outer cover. To reduce the risk of re or electric shock, do not attempt to remove the outer cover. There are no user-serviceable parts inside. Repair should be done only by authorized service personnel. ELECTRICAL CORD a) A short power-supply cord is provided to reduce the risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. b) Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. c) If an extension cord is used:

1) The marked electrical rating of the extension

cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;

2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the

extension cord should be a grounding-type 3-wire cord; and

3) The cord should be arranged so that it will

not drape over the counter top or tabletop where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over. Note: If the power cord is damaged, please contact the warranty department listed in these instructions.3

This product is for household use only. GETTING STARTED

• Remove all packing material, any stickers, and the plastic band around the power plug.

• Remove and save literature.

• Please visit www.prodprotect.com/georgeforeman to register your warranty.4 Push the power button on digital display to turn the unit on. Keep the lid closed. Push TEMP button. Time/Temperature display will begin to flash. Set temperature using temper- ature/time control buttons. Note: Preheating starts automatically 5 seconds after the temperature is set. Select TIME to set timer. See Cooking Guide (pg. 5) for timer suggestions Remove food, press power button to turn off. Unplug unit when nished. Optional: Push START to begin preheat. Digital display light will slowly pulse red. When the digital display light turns green, the unit is ready.

Place food on grill plates and close cover. Set timer using temperature/ time control buttons. Unit will beep when time* has fully elapsed. TO OPERATE

1. Plug the cord into a standard electrical outlet.

Slide drip tray into base. The drip tray must always be in place during cooking.

1. Wash grill plates and drip tray in

warm water and dish soap. Dry thoroughly. Fit the grill plates onto the base by rst inserting tabs at back of grill. Plates will click when correctly attached. Disclaimer: When using the grill for the first time, you may notice smoke or a slight odor during the first few minutes if there is still oil on the plates from the manufacturing process. This is normal. *Note: The heat remains on after the timer beeps. To turn off heat, press the power button and unplug.5 QUICK START

• Pressing the START button immediately after turning the grill on will automatically set the grill to a 425°F preheat. FLOATING HINGE

• Hinge adjusts backwards and forwards, left and right to make full contact for uneven thicknesses and thicker cuts of meat. Tips

• To avoid damaging the nonstick surface, do not use aerosol nonstick spray, sharp utensils or cut food on the cooking surface of the unit. Use silicone, heat-resistant rubber or wooden utensils. Caution

• Because some countertop nishes are more affected by heat than others, use care not to place grill on surfaces where heat may cause a problem.

• Grill surface is hot during use.

• Do not use the grill without the drip tray or base. The GRD6090B smokeless grill produces up to 85% less smoke than the George Foreman indoor/outdoor grill (RPGD3994) when grilling 1/4 lb. beef burgers (20% fat, 80% lean) with clean grill plates and drip trays. BRATWURSTS Temp: 425

Grill time: 15-21 min. Cook to desired crispness COOKING GUIDE The following chart is meant to be used as a guideline only. Cooking time will depend on the thickness of the food. To be sure your food is cooked, USDA recommends using a meat thermometer to test for doneness. Insert the meat thermometer into the thickest part of the meat until the temperature stabilizes.6

Caution: To avoid accidental electric shock and burns, unplug from outlet before cleaning, allow your grill to cool completely. This product contains no user serviceable parts. Refer service to qualied service personnel. Note: not properly cleaning the grill plates may result in increased smoke levels from residual oils left over from previous cooking cycles. Unplug and allow the unit to cool completely before cleaning. Remove the grill plates, the top one rst. Pull out and empty drip tray. Do not immerse the unit in water. Increase the longevity of the exterior surface by wiping down/along the grain of the stainless steel with a wet paper towel. Use stainless steel cleaner for deeper clean. Clean touch screen after each use to maintain usability. To save space, store unit on its side as shown. Drip tray and grill plates are dishwasher-safe or can be hand washed. Do not use steel wool pads or other abrasive cleaners on the cooking surface as they may damage the nonstick coating. To remove cooked- on food, use a plastic bristle brush or nylon mesh pad.

1. For Mojo marinade: In a blender combine all ingredients and puree.

Makes 2 cups. Pour over chicken breasts in a gallon sized food storage bag. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 8 hours.

2. For Caribbean slaw: In a blender combine the mayonnaise, orange

juice, orange zest, lime juice, lime zest, shallot, cilantro, chilies, and garlic. Puree. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Makes about 1-1/2 cups. In a large bowl combine the cabbage, red pepper, and pineapple. Toss to mix. Pour the dressing over the cabbage mix and stir to coat. Refrigerate until ready to use.

3. Preheat grill. Place chicken breasts on the grill and cook until an

internal temperature of 165F is reached, approximately 6 minutes depending on the thickness of the chicken breast.

4. Grill buns, cut side down for about 2 minutes or until toasted.

5. Build the sandwich: Place the grilled chicken on the bun, top with the

slaw and cover with top of bun. Caribbean Slaw: 1 cup mayonnaise 2 tbsp orange juice 1 tsp grated orange zest 1 tbsp lime juice Grated zest from 1 lime 1 medium shallot minced 2 tbsp minced cilantro 2 tsp chopped chipotle chilies in adobo 1 tsp minced garlic Salt and pepper to taste 1 bag of coleslaw mix 1 red bell pepper sliced thin 1 cup pineapple chunks 6 chicken breasts, boneless, skinless 6 Kaiser rolls, sliced Ingredients: Mojo marinade: ¾ cup orange juice ½ cup chopped sweet onion 1 tsp lime zest ¼ cup lime juice ¼ cup Grand Marnier or other orange liqueur ¼ cup olive oil ¼ cup soy sauce 2 tbsp minced garlic 2 tsp dried oregano 1-1/2 tsp ground cumin 1-1/2 tsp ground pepper More recipes can be found at www.georgeforemancooking.com8
