USER MANUAL Dear Customer, Thank you for choosing the Xblitz Spirit 2. The device you have purchased is a semiconductor breathalyser for measuring blood alcohol content from exhaled air. Please read the instrucons below before use. CAUTION: Do not allow yourself or anyone else to drive aer drinking alcohol.

The following are the messages that may appear on the display and their meaning.

Meaning: Gas detected, please connue to blow

Meaning Analysis in progress, please wait

Meaning: Start blowing into the mouthpiece of the device

Meaning: Low baery level

05. OPERATION OF THE DEVICE

1. Remove the baery box cover on the back of the unit and place two 1.5V AA

baeries inside. Make sure the baery terminals are facing the correct way and reaach the container cover.

2. Fit the mouthpiece to the side so that it is at 90 degrees to the rest of the

3. To start the device, hold down the buon on the device for approximately

2 seconds. A beep will sound from the device, the LED will light up blue and the display will show a countdown from 20 to 0. Wait unl the countdown has finished to ensure that the device sensor is ready for use. NOTE: Do not blow into the mouthpiece unl the countdown is complete. Premature use of the device may lead to an incorrect measurement of the breath alcohol content.

4. When the countdown is over, the display will show “blo”. Take a deep breath

and start blowing into the mouthpiece. The display will show a string of leers “C”, connue blowing unl a beep sounds from the device. Aer a few seconds, the measurement result will appear on the display. The result of the measurement is given in per mille (blood alcohol content). NOTE: If the exhaled air ow is not constant or is interrupted during the measurement, the display will show “rP”.

5. If the measured blood alcohol level is below 0.2 ‰, the LED under the

display will light up green. If the measured blood alcohol level is above 0.2 ‰, the LED will light up red and an alarm will sound from the device.

6. If you want to manually switch o the device, hold down the buon for 3

seconds. The device will switch o spontaneously a few tens of seconds aer the last acvity.

7. To change the unit of the result aer the measurement is finished, press the10

key. Pressing the key switches to the next unit.

1. Do not drop the device or shake it violently.

2. Test results may be inaccurate when baery capacity is low.

3. To ensure the accuracy of the measurement, perform the test 15 minutes

aer drinking alcohol.

4. If the device has been le unused for a long me, the first measurement

taken may be inaccurate.

5. If you want to perform mulple tests, wait at least 1 minute between tests.

6. Do not blow tobacco smoke, liquids or pieces of food into the device. This

can permanently damage the sensors and lead to incorrect measurements.

7. If the device is dirty, use a gentle material to wipe it down. Do not use

8. The correlaon between breath alcohol content and blood alcohol concen-

traon depends on a number of variables, including environmental factors (such as wind, humidity, temperature, etc.) as well as the health of the person being tested.

9. The measurement results from this device do not constute evidence in

legal terms and cannot be used in court. The driver bears full responsibility for driving under the inuence of alcohol.

10. The result of a test can vary depending on many factors. Geng a given test

result one me does not mean that the result will be the same even a few minutes later.

11. Do not allow yourself or anyone else to drive aer consuming alcohol.

Always use a taxi or other vehicle driven by a sober person when you or someone else has consumed alcohol.

12. Under normal use, the device needs to be recalibrated approximately every

6 months or aer 500 tests performed. For accurate measurement results, contact your device distributor or service centre and ask them to recalibrate the device’s sensor.

The guarantee is only valid if the device is regularly serviced and calibrated at an au- thorised service centre at least once a year. The device has been correctly calibrated since new. Every breathalyser oered on the market requires periodic calibraon, i.e. every 12 months (every 6 months is recommended), the device must be confi gured so that it correctly interprets the amount of alcohol in the air exhaled. The need for recalibraon is not a defect in the device and is not subject to warranty. A device that is not regularly calibrated will show erroneous results.12
