ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS PRODUCT CHARACTERISTICS Electric kettle is designed for water heating and boiling. Thanks to its high power it is possible to boil water quickly. Detachable base ensures convenient and safe usage of the kettle. The product is intended only for home use. Correct, reliable and safe operation of the product depends on proper operation, therefore: Before starting product operation, please read this manual and keep it. The supplier does not assume any liability for damages resulting from failure to follow safety regulations and recommendations specifi ed in this manual. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS Note! Product may heat up to high temperature during operation, be cautious when han- dling it. The product should be held using only the handle. Recommendations for the product transportation and installation The product can be placed only on a hard, fl at, level and non-fl ammable surface resistant to high temperatures. Substrate should withstand the weight of appliance itself together with water poured into it.Provide at least 10 cm space around product’s side walls, do not place any materials not resistant to high temperature above the product. This will allow for proper product ventilation. Do not place the product near edges e.g. of a table. Do not put anything on the product. It impairs air circulation and may be a cause of product damage, as well as fi re. Do not place the product near fl ammable materials, e.g. curtains or drapes. Do not place any electrical appliances over the product. Steam is released during oper- ation of the product, which may cause a short circuit of electrical installation resulting in electric shock. It is forbidden to drill any hole in the product, nor any other product modifi - cation not described herein. Carry the product with hot water by grasping the handle and lifting up from the base. Do not carry the hot product along with the base. Do not displace the product by pulling the cable cord. Temperature at the place of product installation and use must stay within the range +10

C and the relative humidity must be less than 90%, without steam condensation. Recommendations for connecting the product to power supply Before connecting the product to power supply, make sure that the voltage, frequency, and capacity of mains supply correspond to values shown on the product rating plate. Plug must fi t into the socket. It is forbidden to modify the plug or socket in order to fi t each other. Product must be connected directly to a single power outlet. It is forbidden to use extension cords, socket-outlet adapters and double power outlets. Power supply circuit must be fi tted with a protective conductor and at least 16 A protection circuit. Avoid any contact of power cord with sharp edges and hot objects and surfaces. When operating the product, the pow- er cord must always be fully unwound and its position may not interfere with the operation of product. Laying of power cable cannot result in tripping hazard. Power outlet should be located in such a place to allow always the possibility of quick disconnecting the plug of power cord supplying the product. When disconnecting the plug of power cord always pull the plug housing, never the cable. If the power cord or plug is damaged, disconnect it immediately from the mains and contact an authorized manufacturer’s service centre for replacement. Do not use the product with a damaged power cord or plug. Power cord or12

ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS plug cannot be repaired, in case of damage to these components, replace them with new ones without defects. Recommendations for using the product Note! The product is designed only for heating and boiling water. It is forbidden to use the product for heating and boiling liquids or substances other than water. Product must be used together with the base supplied. When using the product, power cord should be completely unwound. Rolled-up cable under the base may overheat and pose a threat of fi re and electric shock. Make sure that the fl oor next to the place where the product is used is not slippery. This will prevent the risk of slipping, which may cause severe injuries.The product may be plugged in only during operation. After it is completed, unplug the product, by removing the plug from the mains socket. Do not leave the connected product unat- tended. Fill the product with water by pouring it into the kettle. Never immerse the kettle in water or other liquid. If water is splashed while fi lling the kettle on the outside surface of kettle or on the base, it should be thoroughly dried before connecting the kettle to power supply. Avoid fi lling the hot kettle with cold water, this may cause the glass kettle housing to crack due to excessive temperature diff erence. Do not start the product without water. Water level must always remain between the minimum and maximum level markers. Low- er water level can cause the damage to product or cause the product fails to start. Higher water level can make it splattering during cooking, which can cause serious burns.Warn- ing! Do not uncover the lid when boiling water.When using the kettle always close the lid, otherwise the automatic product switch will not be triggered. Do not open the lid of the ket- tle immediately after water has been boiled. Condensed steam of high temperature may be accumulated under the lid. Contact with steam can cause a burn. Note! Place the lid in such a way that steam escapes away from the holder. The product has been designed for home use and it is forbidden to use it in commercial applications, e.g. in catering facilities. Unattended repair, disassembly or modifi cation of product is forbidden. All product repairs must be carried out by an authorised repair point. This product is not intended for use by children below 8 years of age and persons with reduced physical or mental capabilities and person with no experience or knowledge of the equipment. Unless they are supervised or trained how to use the product in a safe manner so that the risks involved are understood. Children should not play with the product. Unattended children should not perform clean- ing and maintenance of the equipment. Do not use any corrosive substances, solvents, corrosive agents, alcohol, gasoline or abrasive agents for cleaning. PRODUCT HANDLING Product should be unpacked, completely removing all packaging components. Unwind the cord. Prepare the base as per instructions. Before the fi rst use, the kettle should be cleaned as per instructions included in chapter on product maintenance. Check if the kettle has the fi lter installed correctly. Model 68172 Lift the lid by pressing the button. Fill the kettle with water so that its level remains between the minimum and maximum level markers. Cover the lid of the kettle. Connect the power cord to the mains socket. Make sure that the switch remains in “OFF” position - O. Place the kettle on the base so that the kettle adheres to the base with its entire perimeter. Switch-on the kettle with the switch, turning it to the “on” position - I.13

ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS Kettle’s light indicator will be visible throughout the entire cooking time. After the water boils, the kettle will automatically switch off . The switch will automatically change the position to “off ” - O and light indicator will turn off . Raise the kettle from the base by grasping the handle only. It is not necessary to open the lid for pouring water. Unplug the power cord from the mains socket. After the use, leave the product to cool. down. Note! Turning the switch manually to the “off ” position - O, completes the process of heating water at any time. Control panel (applies only to 68173 and 68174 models) The kettle has been fi tted with a control panel that signifi cantly expands its functionality. In case of 68173 model the control panel is located in the handle, and in case of 68174 model in the base of the product. Handling of control panel is realised by means of buttons, reading us visible on the display. Pushing the I/O switch allows switching in and off the kettle. Buttons marked with “+” and “-” allow setting the temperature at which water heating is completed. Button marked with a symbol of cap allows switching in water temperature sustaining function. Model 68173 Lift and dismantle the lid. Fill the kettle with water so that its level remains between the minimum and maximum level markers. Cover the lid of the kettle. Connect the power cord to the mains socket. Place the kettle on the base so that the kettle adheres to the base with its entire perimeter.. This will be signalled acoustically and the display will show current water temperature. Set up water temperature using “+” and “-” buttons. Pre-set water temperature is 100

C. If no other temperature is set before the kettle is switched on, the kettle will boil water. Switch-on the kettle by pushing the switch. Kettle’s light indicator will be visible throughout the entire cooking time, and the display will show water temperature. After the water boils, the kettle will automatically switch off . Light indicator will go out and also acoustic signal will be emitted. Raise the kettle from the base by grasping the handle only. It is not necessary to open the lid for pouring water. Unplug the power cord from the mains socket. After the use, leave the product to cool down. Note! Pushing the switch manually completes the process of heating water at any time. Note! If water temperature is changed to lower value in the course of heating or the kettle is raised from the base, the kettle will automatically fi nish the water heating process. Note! If water temperature set is lower than the temperature of water in the kettle, it will not be possible to switch on the kettle. The kettle does not have the water cooling function. Model 68174 Lift the lid by pressing the button. Fill the kettle with water so that its level remains between the minimum and maximum level markers. Cover the lid of the kettle. Connect the power cord to the mains socket. The display in the base will show “E1” message. Place the kettle on the base so that the kettle adheres to the base with its entire perimeter. Current water temperature will be visible on the display. Set up water temperature using “+” and “-” buttons. Pre-set water temperature is 100

C. If no other temperature is set before the kettle is switched on, the kettle will boil water. Switch-on the kettle by pushing the switch. Kettle’s light indicator will be visible throughout the entire cooking time, and the display will show water temperature. After the water boils, the kettle will automatically switch off . If water temperature is changed to lower value in the course of heating or the kettle is raised from the base, the kettle will automatically fi nish the water heating process. Note! If water temperature set is lower than the temperature of water in the kettle, it will not be possible to switch on the kettle. The kettle does not have the water cooling function. Note! After approx. 10 minutes of idleness, the kettle will automatically switch off . The display will be extinguished.14

ORIGINAL INSTRUCTIONS The display in 68174 model may display the following messages: E1 - no contact of the kettle with the base, E2 - short circuit detected, E3 - dry switching - no water in the kettle. Due to thermal inertia of temperature sensor, a slight disparity between actual water temperature and display indications is possi- ble. Sensor inaccuracy is given in the technical data table. Water temperature sustaining function Setting the water temperature and pressing the button marked with a cup will activate the water temperature sustaining function. The function allows heating the water and then maintaining the temperature set. Note! Lifting the kettle up from the base switches off the water temperature sustaining function. Note! Water temperature sustaining function can be switched on for a maximum of 8 hours. After this time, the kettle will switch off automatically.

MAINTENANCE, TRANSPORT, STORAGE

Kettle maintenance Since the product is designed for preparation of water intended for comestible purpose, one should take care of its cleanliness and it should be regularly maintained. NOTE! All maintenance operations to be carried out with the power supply off . To this end, remove the plug of the power cord from the mains socket. NOTE! The product must not be immersed in water or in any other liquid. The product must not be washed under running water, in dishwashers or under water jets. NOTE! Before any maintenance operations, allow the product components to cool down completely. Do not speed up the cooling process by fi lling the kettle with cold water. For cleaning, use a mild dishwashing detergent. Residues of solution to be removed using a cloth soaked with water (base and outer part of the kettle) or fi lling the kettle with water several times (inside of the kettle). Then wipe the product to dry or leave to be dried off . The kettle has been fi tted with a screen fi lter located at the water outlet. If the fi lter can be dismounted, it can be cleaned using a water jet after dismounting it from the kettle. The fi lter that cannot be dismounted should be cleaned with a damp cloth or sponge. Do not apply too much pressure that could damage the fi lter. Removal of mineral deposits Depending on quality of water, minerals precipitated from water in the heating process may be deposited inside the kettle. This is a normal phenomenon and does not interfere with the operation of the kettle. In the case of accumulation of deposits, they should be removed using acetic or citric acid. Pour 0.5 l of vinegar into the kettle or add 40 g of citric acid, fi ll the kettle with water up to maximum level. Boil the contents of kettle, and then leave the kettle for about 30 minutes. After this time, empty the kettle, rinse with clean water and wipe the interior dry. If mineral deposits have not been completely removed, repeat the entire removal process. Storage and transport of the product The product when stored should be kept in closed rooms, protect it from dust, dirt and moisture. It is recommended to store the product in its original packaging. Store the product in its working position. Do not store products in layers. Do not put anything on the product during its storage. Transport the product in the factory packaging. Protect it against excessive shocks during transport. Do not put anything on the product during its transport.
