How to use the Girmi TP10 toaster for the first time?

During the first use, the heating elements may emit smoke; this is normal. Before using, clean the toast holders with water and dish soap, then dry them thoroughly. Plug in the appliance, set the browning level with the dial (8), place the bread in the holders, lower the lever (1) and let it cook.

Why does my toaster stop before the end?

This may be due to a timer setting that is too low. Turn the dial (8) to a higher level to increase the cooking time. Also check that crumbs are not blocking the mechanism; clean the crumb tray regularly.

How to clean the Girmi TP10 toaster?

Always unplug the appliance and wait for it to cool down. Remove the crumb tray and empty it, wash it with soapy water then dry it. The toast holders can be washed with water. The exterior can be cleaned with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water.

Can the toaster be used for something other than bread?

The appliance is designed only for toasting bread or similar dry foods. Do not use for foods that drip (jam, chocolate) as they could damage the appliance or cause a fire.

How to know if the bread is toasted to perfection?

The dial (8) allows you to set the browning level from 1 (light) to 7 (very dark). Start with a medium level and adjust to your preference. You can also press the 'Cancel' button (5) at any time to stop cooking.

What to do if the lever does not stay down?

The lever (1) only stays down if the appliance is plugged in and operating. Check the electrical outlet. If the problem persists, the appliance may be defective; contact an authorized service center.

Does the toaster get hot on the outside?

Before use, ensure the equipment is undamaged; if in doubt, do not attempt to use it and contact the authorized service center; do not leave packing materials (i.e. plastic bags, polystyrene foam, nails, staples, etc.) within the reach of children as they are potential sources of danger; always remember that they must be separately collected. Make sure that the rating information given on the technical label are compatible with those of the electricity grid; the installation must be performed according to the manufacturer's instructions considering the maximum power of the appliance as shown on the label; an incorrect installation may cause damage to people, animals or things, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered responsible thereof.

GENERAL INFORMATION

When you first use the appliance, the electric resistance can emit smoke. Do not worry because the smoke will disappear after a few uses. First of all, clean all the parts that will be in touch with food such as the pliers.

CAUTION: risk of burn! After having turn on the unit, avoid touching it since some parts become very hot. Handle with care freshly-cooked food.

Touch only the handles of the pliers and the buttons while the unit is running. Use only for food preparation.

Place the toaster on stable shelves. Never leave the appliance unattended while it is working.

Always place the slices of bread or food inside the special pliers and be careful not to include foods that are too large in relation with the capacity of cooking slots.

Always use the toaster with crumb tray inserted, making sure it is assembled correctly.

Do not use to cook food containing jam, chocolate spread, or foods that might drip in general.

Once finished, unplug it and wait for the cooling of each part of the unit before storing.

Do not immerse the product in water or other liquids. In any case prevent splashes of water or other liquids from reaching the toaster.

OPERATING

This bread toaster is suitable for cooking and heating tasty toast and toasted bread.

• Make sure that the lever (1) is in the high position.
• Place the product on a flat and stable surface and connect the plug to the power outlet.
• Set the timer (8) depending on the taste, the thickness of the bread and the roast that you want to achieve.
• Place food in the special pliers and put the clamps in the slots (2).
• Lower the lever (1) to start cooking.
• During cooking, check that food does not burn. If you want to stop cooking, at any time you can press the STOP button (5).
• After cooking, the lever (1) lifts automatically to power off the equipment. To take them out, grab the pliers from the special handles without touching the toaster, especially the top.
• Unplug the unit and wait for the complete cooling of each part, before storing the appliance.

CLEANING

Unplug the unit from the electrical outlet and let it cool down before starting cleaning operations.

• Do not immerse the unit in water. In any case, avoid any splashing of water or other liquids, and pay attention the water does not enter the slots for pliers.
• The pliers can be treated like normal dishes.
• Clean the crumb tray by removing first all the crumbs and then wipe off the residue with a sponge, making sure to dry completely before replacing it in the toaster.
• Clean the body of the toaster with a damp cloth.
