Schleich S Din Saurs™DINOSAUR RALLY

A cooperative dinosaur adventure for 2 – 4 players, ages 6+ From Wolfgang Dirscherl Playing time: around 20 minutes
Idea and object of the game
In this cooperative game, you slip as a team into the roles of researchers Maxx, Luis and Flynn Colby. The three brothers explore the last dinosaurs that live deep in the Amazon jungle.
Your common objective for the game is to get all the peace-loving dinosaurs in the dinosaur research station to safety and to activate the security fence before the dreaded Spinosaurus reaches the research station.
With a length of 15 to 18 meters, Spinosaurus is the largest dinosaur of all time! The spine lizard approaches the station with great strides. Are you able to save all the dinosaurs? An exciting race against the dangerous prehistoric giant begins.

text_image
Equipment 1 game board 1 Schleich dinosaur (Spinosaurus) 3 dinosaur trailers 5 action cards 20 dinosaur tokens 1 dice 3 dinosaur researchers (Maxx, Luis and Flynn Colby) and 3 feet to put togetherHow to set up the game
Place the game board in the middle of the table and carefully push the rest of the game material out of the punching boards. Put the 3 dinosaur researchers on the feet and place them on the dinosaur research station on the game board. Place the Spinosaurus next to the game board in front of the first Spinosaurus fi elds. You can recognize the Spinosaurus fi elds by the large dinosaur paw prints.

natural_image
Two dark, irregularly shaped footprints with white vein patterns (no text or symbols)Place the three dinosaur trailers and the five action cards on either side of the game board. Hold the dice ready. Shuffle all the dinosaur tokens and place them face down on the yellow, blue-rimmed fi elds on the game board. You then uncover all your tokens. Depending on the desired level of diffi culty, you may now have to remove dinosaur tokens from the game board.
Before starting the game you collectively agree on a level of diffi culty. For the very fi rst game, we recommend the game for future dinosaur researchers:
→ Game for future dinosaur researchers: Take the six dinosaur tokens on which there are dinosaur eggs (no matter how many) from the board. These dinosaurs are thus already in the safe dinosaur research station!

→ Game for advanced dinosaur explorers: Take the three dinosaur tokens on which two dinosaur eggs are depicted from the board. These three dinosaurs are already safe.

→ Game for absolute super dinosaur researchers: Super dinosaur researchers play with all dinosaur tokens. This time it will certainly be a very very close game!
Gameplay
Now the big dinosaur adventure begins: The collective object of the game is to get all of the dinosaurs on the board and the three Colby brothers to safety before the Spinosaurus reaches the dinosaur research station.
Note: You may advise each other on every move, however the active player always carries out his move himself!
You take turns in a clockwise direction. The youngest child starts and rolls the dice.

If the dice shows the Spinosaurus, you move the dinosaur one field forward along the path marked with dinosaur paw prints.
If the die shows a number of spots (1–5), you choose one of the open action cards and move the selected figure on the board by the corresponding number of fi elds. Then you turn the used action card over so that it is face up.
You can choose between these action cards:

natural_image

Maxx, Luis, Flynn:
Drag the respective researcher on the blue-rimmed fi elds in any direction on the game board.
Important: When you move the researcher, you may let dice points lapse. If you roll a 3, you can only move one or two fi elds – or even forego
the move completely (e.g. towards the end of the game)! But you are not allowed to change direction during a move.

natural_image

Now you have the choice between Maxx, Luis and Flynn. Move the selected researcher forward. With the Joker you can also let dice points lapse!

natural_image
Yellow diamond-shaped warning sign with a black dinosaur head silhouette (no text or symbols)Spinosaurus:
Drag the Spinosaurus exactly by the number of spots rolled on its way forward.
Hint: Don't wait too long to pull the dinosaur. Because if the Spinosaurus is the only action card still open, you have to use the number rolled for the Spinosaurus!
Important: You can only choose from the action cards that are still open. Only when all action cards have been dealt with and are face down do you turn all fi ve cards over at the same time. Now the next player can choose from all fi ve action cards again!
This is how you collect the dinosaur tokens:
If you move forward with a researcher or over a board space with a dinosaur token, you can collect this dinosaur and put the token in the dinosaur trailer of the corresponding researcher. When collecting the dinosaurs, every researcher has a few special features to consider:

natural_image
Illustration of a person standing beside a blue truck with four circular insets showing elephant and forest scenes (no text or symbols)Maxx:
Maxx can collect two Triceratops and two Brachiosauruses at the same time. So he can collect up to four dinosaur tokens and bring them back to the research station.

natural_image
Illustration of a person standing beside a multi-wheeled vehicle decorated with animal images (elephant, rhino, monkey) on yellow tracks, no text or symbols present.Luis:
Luis can collect two Triceratops and three Stegosaurus tokens at the same time. He can thus collect up to fi ve dinosaur tokens and bring them back to the research station.

natural_image
Illustration of a person standing beside a red freight train with circular diagrams on boxes (no text or symbols)Flynn:
Flynn is very fl exible. He can collect any three dinosaur tokens and bring them back to the research station.
And this is how you bring the dinosaurs to safety in the research station:
At the latest when the dinosaur trailers are full, you have to bring the dinousars to the research station with Maxx, Luis or Flynn, in order to save more dinosaurs afterwards. You can take the researchers there with the collected dinosaurs at any time, even if not all the places in the trailer are occupied. To do this, you have to walk back to the research station with the respective researcher. When you reach the research station with one of the Colby brothers, you take the dinosaur tokens from his trailer and place them in the research station. These dinosaurs are now safe from the Spinosaurus. The researcher can set off again on his next move and collect more dinosaurs!
Other rules:
→ Several dinosaur researchers can stand on a board space at the same time.
→ You can collect several dinosaur tokens with a researcher in one turn, provided there is enough space in his trailer.
Once collected, dinosaur tokens cannot be exchanged among the researchers or returned to the game board.
→ You are not allowed to move with a researcher across a board space on which the Spinosaurus is currently standing!
→ If the Spinosaurus moves onto or over a board space with a dinosaur token or a researcher, you have unfortunately lost the game immediately.
End of the game
You win the game together if you manage to collect all the dinosaurs from the game board with the researchers and pull the three researchers back into the dinosaur station. The dinosaur researchers quickly activate the security fence and the Spinosaurus no longer has a chance to get into the research station. Well done – you are really cool dinosaur researchers!

text_image
Illustration of a utility scene with warning signs and three labeled portraits below, likely indicating safety or hazard zones. You lose the game together as soon as the Spinosaurus reaches the research station and you have not yet brought all the dinosaurs and the researchers to safety. This time you were unlucky – but you better try again.
Caution: You have also lost immediately if the Spinosaurus moves on or over a fi eld with a dinosaur researcher or dinosaur token during the game!
Game variant for experienced dinosaur researchers
In this variant of the game, the dinosaur researcher has to remain on the game board space on which he wants to collect a dinosaur token. So you can only collect one dinosaur token per turn!
Game variant for the ultimate dinosaur experts
Have you already won the game for absolute super dinosaur researchers several times and you want to increase the level of diffi culty again? Put the Spinosaurus one fi eld (or even two fi elds) forward at the start. Now the game is even harder to win!
