Frequently Asked Questions - SY-4966400 Sygonix

How to install the smoke detector?
The detector must be installed on the ceiling, in the center of the room, at least 150 cm from lights, fans, or air conditioners. Use the mounting bracket to drill two holes, insert wall plugs, fix the bracket with screws, then lock the detector by turning clockwise. Make sure the battery is inserted before attaching the mounting plate.
What type of battery to use and how to insert it?
Use only a non-rechargeable CR123A battery (included and pre-installed). Remove the plastic insulating strip before first use. Insert the battery respecting the polarity indicated in the compartment.
How to test the alarm?
Briefly press the Test button. If the alarm works, you will hear 3 beeps and see a continuous red flash. Test the alarm every week. Keep at arm's length due to the sound level ≥85 dB.
What to do in case of nuisance alarms?
Use the Pause Mode function: press and hold the Test button to stop the alarm for 9 minutes. If smoke concentration remains high after 9 minutes, the alarm will trigger again. Only use this function for non-hazardous alarms (e.g., cooking smoke).
How to know if the battery is low?
When the battery is low, the detector emits 1 red flash and 1 beep every 40 seconds. The mobile app also displays a battery status icon. Replace the battery as soon as possible.
How to connect the detector to the Smart Life app?
Download the Smart Life - Smart Living app from the App Store or Google Play. Make sure your Wi-Fi network is 2.4 GHz. Follow the connection path: Sensor → Smoke detector (Wi-Fi). Use AP or EZ mode for pairing. After connection, briefly press the Test button and wait 10 seconds.
What to do if the detector emits 2 beeps every 40 seconds?
This indicates an internal product defect. Immediately stop using it and contact customer service. Do not try to repair it yourself.
How to clean the smoke detector?
Carefully remove the product from the bracket. Use a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush attachment to remove dirt, especially around the detection holes. Wipe with a dry lint-free cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or alcohol. After cleaning, reinstall and test the alarm.
What are the operating and storage conditions?
Operating temperature: 0 to +55 °C, humidity ≤95% RH. Storage temperature: -10 to +55 °C, humidity ≤95% RH. Protect the product from moisture, direct sunlight, and extreme temperatures.
How to dispose of the product and battery at end of life?
The product must not be disposed of with household waste. Take it to a collection point for electrical and electronic equipment. Used batteries must be taken to recycling centers or retail collection points. Before disposing of a battery, cover its contacts with adhesive tape to prevent short circuits.
