Frequently Asked Questions - Reklino iSize Foppapedretti

How to install the Reklino iSize seat in ISOFIX mode for a child from 76 to 105 cm?
Ensure the vehicle has ISOFIX anchor points and a Top Tether point. Extend the ISOFIX connectors by pressing the buttons, then click them onto the anchors until you hear a click (green indicator). Attach the Top Tether to the rear anchor point and tighten the strap until the indicator turns green. Use the 5-point harness, adjust the headrest to 1 cm above the child's shoulders, and tighten the harness.
When to switch from the 5-point harness to the vehicle's 3-point belt?
When the child reaches 100 cm in height, you must remove the 5-point harness and configure the seat in booster mode. Follow the instructions in the manual to store the harness. Then use the vehicle's 3-point belt with the belt guide and Kid-Pad.
How to adjust the headrest of the Reklino iSize seat?
Press the button located at the back of the headrest and slide it up or down. For the 5-point harness (76-105 cm), adjust so there is about 1 cm gap between the straps and the shoulders. For the 3-point belt (100-150 cm), adjust for two fingers of space and ensure the diagonal belt passes through the guide at shoulder level.
How to clean the seat cover?
Remove the cover following the instructions in the manual. Machine wash in cold water (max 30°C) with mild detergent, delicate cycle. Do not use bleach, do not tumble dry, do not iron. Plastic parts can be cleaned with soapy water. The harness can be washed with warm soapy water.
Can I use the Reklino iSize seat on the front passenger seat?
No, never use it on a front seat with an active frontal airbag, as it is dangerous. If the vehicle allows deactivating the airbag, you can install it on the front seat provided you slide the seat back as far as possible. Consult the vehicle manual. Installation on rear seats is recommended.
Which vehicles are compatible with this seat?
The seat is i-Size approved (R129/03) and can be installed on all i-Size marked seats. For vehicles without an i-Size logo, consult the compatibility list provided with the seat or the manufacturer's website. Check for ISOFIX and Top Tether anchors for the 76-105 cm configuration.
How to remove the 5-point harness to switch to booster mode?
Completely loosen the harness, open the rear cover, remove the shoulder straps from the tension bracket, detach the pads, extract the buckle from its housing, and store everything in the rear compartment. Follow the step-by-step figures in the manual (pages 63-64). Replace the cover and close the cover. The seat is then ready for the 3-point belt.
How to install the reducing insert provided with the seat?
The reducing insert is for children up to 87 cm. Simply place it on the seat base before placing the child. It provides better support and a more reclined position. It is no longer needed once the child exceeds 87 cm.
How to correctly use the Top Tether?
After attaching the ISOFIX connectors, take the Top Tether strap and attach the clip to the anchor point in the vehicle (often behind the seat or on the floor). Tighten the strap by pressing the adjustment button until the indicator turns green. The strap must pass over the seat back, never over the headrest. Wind up any excess strap to prevent the child from playing with it.
What to do if the seat is involved in an accident?
After an accident, even minor, the seat may have suffered invisible internal damage. It must be replaced. Do not use a damaged seat. Contact the manufacturer for a replacement. Do not attempt to repair the seat yourself.

ADJUSTING THE HEIGHT OF THE HEADREST AND STRAPS

Adjusting the headrest correctly ensures maximum protection for your child when inside the car seat.

From 76 to 105 ~cm : When using the 5-point harness, the headrest must be adjusted so that there is a 1-finger (1 cm) space between the shoulder straps and the top of the shoulders.

IMPORTANT: Loosen the shoulder straps before adjusting the headrest. Adjusting the straps to a position lower or higher than the child's shoulders can compromise your child's safety.

From 100 to 150 cm: When using the 3-point vehicle seat belt, the headrest must be adjusted so that there is a two-finger space between the headrest and the child's shoulders. Make sure that the diagonal belt, when passing through the "diagonal belt guide loop" on the side of the headrest, is positioned at the shoulders and not at the child's neck.
