Frequently Asked Questions - UAHD50EL SHARP

How to install the filters for the first time?
Remove the back panel, take out the HEPA filter (white) and deodorizing filter (black) from their plastic bags. Install them in order: first the HEPA filter, then the deodorizing filter. Replace the back panel and note the start date of use.
How to fill the water tank?
Push the tank handle down and pull forward to remove it. Fill with fresh tap water only. Do not use hot water (>40°C), chemicals or aromatic substances. Replace the tank ensuring no leak.
What are the operating modes?
Three modes: Air cleaning (filtration without humidification), Air cleaning and humidification (filtration + humidification), Clean ion shower (intense release of Plasmacluster ions for 60 minutes).
How to activate or deactivate the Plasmacluster ions?
Press the corresponding button for 3 seconds. The indicator light (blue) turns on or off. By default, the ions are activated when the device is running.
What does the flashing of the humidification indicator mean?
If the indicator flashes red, the water tank is empty. Fill it. If it flashes green, humidification is in progress. If humidity reaches an adequate level, the indicator turns off.
How to clean the humidification filter?
Remove the humidification filter (do not detach it from the holder). Soak it in a solution of water and citric acid or lemon juice for 30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and let dry.
When to replace the filters?
The HEPA filter and deodorizing filter have a lifespan of about 10 years after opening (depending on use). Replace them if odors or dust persist after cleaning. The humidification filter should also be replaced.
How to reset the filter indicator light?
After cleaning or replacing the filters, plug in the device and press the filter reset button (often the brightness control button) for 3 seconds. The light turns off.
What to do in case of error code 'C1' or 'C4'?
For error C1 (abnormal motor), unplug the device, wait one minute and plug it back in. For C4 (abnormal sensor), check that the device is not obstructed. If the error persists, contact a Sharp service center.
Can I use the purifier in a bathroom?
No, avoid humid places or areas prone to splashes. The device must not get wet. Place it on a flat surface, at least 30 cm from the wall, away from heat sources and steam.

AIR PURIFIER with Humidifying Function OPERATION MANUAL

Please read before operating your new Air Purifier

The air purifier draws in room air from the air intake, passes the air through a Pre-Filter, a Deodorizing Filter, and a HEPA Filter inside of the unit, then discharges the air through the air outlet. The HEPA Filter can remove 99.97% of dust particles as small as 0.3 microns that pass through the filter and also helps absorb odours. The Deodorizing Filter gradually absorbs odours as they pass through the filter.

Some odours absorbed by the filters may break down over time, resulting in additional odour. Depending on the usage environment, especially when the product is used in extreme environments (significantly more severe than normal household use), this odour may become strong in a shorter period than expected. If the odour persists, the filters should be replaced.

NOTE

- The air purifier is designed to remove air-suspended dust and odour, but not harmful gases (for example, carbon monoxide contained in cigarette smoke). If the source of the odour still exists, the air purifier may not completely remove the odour.
