- The device is designed for frying, grilling and toasting food. The fondue set is also suitable for preparing fondue with cheese or oil.
- This device is for personal use only and is not intended for commercial applications.
- The device must only be used as described in the operating instructions. Any other use is deemed to be improper. Incorrect operation and improper handling can lead to device malfunctions and user injuries.
- The following are excluded from the warranty: all defects caused by improper handling, damage or unauthorised attempts to repair. The same applies for normal wear. Supplementary information Suitable for food use.EN 16 Safety Instructions ■ This device may be used by children aged 8 and over and by people with reduced physical, sensory or mental abilities or a lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have received instruction on how to use the device safely and have understood the dangers resulting from this. ■ Children must not play with the device. ■ Cleaning and user maintenance may not be performed by children, unless they are older than 8 years of age and are supervised. ■ Children younger than 8 years of age and animals must be kept away from the device and the mains cable. Warning of hot surfaces! The device will become very hot during use. Make absolutely sure that you do not come into contact with any heated parts during and after use of the device. Only touch the handles and the temperature controller while the device is in operation or immediately after it has been switched off. We recommend that you wear oven gloves when handling the device. ■ The device must always be disconnected from the mains power when it is left unattended and before assembling, disassembling or cleaning the device. ■ Do not make any changes to the device. Also do not replace the mains cable yourself. If the device, the mains cable or the plug of the device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or customer service department or a similarly qualifi ed person (e.g. specialist workshop) in order to avoid any hazards. ■ The device is not designed to be operated with an external timer or a separate remote control system. ■ ATTENTION: Please note the cleaning instructions in the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter!17 EN Dangers of Injury ■ Keep the device and packaging material away from children and animals. There is a risk of injury and suffocation. ■ ATTENTION Danger of burns! Be careful when handling hot oil or hot cheese in the fondue pot! Never pour water into hot oil or water into other fatty substances! ■ Make sure that the fondue pot or the hot stone are placed securely in the recess which is provided for this purpose in the raclette grill plate. ■ Make sure that the connected mains cable does not present a trip hazard. The cable must not hang down from the surface on which the device is placed in order to prevent the device from being pulled down. ■ Always allow the device to cool down suffi ciently before you clean it and/or store it away. Danger of Electric Shock and Fire ■ Use the device only in closed rooms. ■ Always set up the device with a suffi cient amount of clear space on all sides and clear space above it in order to prevent any build-up of heat. ■ The device should only be connected to a properly installed plug socket with safety contacts. The plug socket must also be readily accessible after connection so that the connection to the mains can quickly be isolated. The mains voltage must match the technical data of the device. Only use suitable extension cables whose technical data is the same as that of the device. ■ Never immerse the device, mains cable or plug in water or other liquids and ensure that they cannot fall into water or become wet. ■ Should the device fall into water, switch off the power supply immediately. Do not attempt to pull it out of the water while it is still connected to the mains power! ■ Do not use the device if it has malfunctioned or been dropped in water. Have it checked in a specialist workshop before using it again. ■ Never touch the device, mains cable or plug with wet hands when these components are connected to the mains power. ■ Switch off the device and pull the mains plug out of the plug socket if an error occurs during operation or before a thunderstorm. ■ Always pull the plug and never the mains cable. ■ Always insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the raclette grill plate before you place the fondue pot onto the raclette grill plate (see the “Raclette” and “Fondue” chapters). Without the receptacle, it is not possible to guarantee that the pot can be held in place securely. ■ Do not use the device in rooms containing easily ignitable dust or poisonous and explosive fumes. ■ Do not operate the device in a very damp environment or in the vicinity of combustible material. ■ Do not cover the device during operation in order to prevent it from catching fi re. Provide adequate ventilation while the device is in operation. ■ For the fondue, only use fats and oils which are suitable for frying.EN 18 ■ ATTENTION Danger of fi re! Make sure that foodstuffs containing oil and fats are not overheated so that they do not catch fi re. ■ In the event of a fi re: – It is essential to remove the mains plug immediately. – Hot fat / oil may catch fi re if it is overheated. Do not extinguish burning fat / oil with water, but smother the fl ames with a fi re blanket or similar cloth or extinguish a fat fi re with a fi re extinguisher which is capable of extinguishing fi res involving cooking fat! – Do NOT use water to extinguish the fi re as the steam can pose an additional risk of scalding. – Dispose of the device. ■ Do not place any combustible materials, such as cardboard, plastic, paper or candles, on or in the device. ■ Do not place food that is wrapped in cling fi lm or plastic bags in or on the device. ■ Never place aluminium foil or other objects between the fondue pot and the heating element. ■ Make sure that the heating element does not come into contact with any other objects. ■ Food that is too large, metal foil packaging, or utensils may not be placed on the raclette device or into the little raclette pans because they may cause fi re or an electric shock. ■ Never use the raclette as a device for heating a room! ■ Always check the device for damage before putting it into operation. Only use it if the device, mains cable and plug have no signs of damage! Avoiding Damage to Material, Property and the Device ■ Always place the device on a dry, fl at and fi rm surface that is not sensitive to heat. ■ The little raclette pans will become very hot during use! Only place the little raclette pans down on heat-resistant surfaces. ■ In order to prepare your fondue, only heat up the fondue pot on an electric or glass ceramic cooker. Do not use other sources of heat like ovens to heat up the fondue pot. The pot is not suitable for induction cookers! Make sure you wear oven gloves when transferring hot substances! ■ Maintain suffi cient clearance from other sources of heat such as hotplates or stoves and to gas sources in order to avoid damage to the device. ■ Do not expose the device to extreme temperatures, strong temperature fl uctuations, direct sunlight or moisture. ■ The device must not be moved during operation. ■ Do not drop the device or allow it to be knocked violently. ■ Do not pull or carry the device by the mains cable. ■ Make sure that the mains cable is not squashed, bent or laid over sharp edges and does not come into contact with hot surfaces. ■ Only the accessory parts supplied by the manufacturer should be used. If accessory parts which are not authorised by the manufacturer are used, all warranty and guarantee claims are void.19 EN ■ Only use heat-resistant utensils to place and remove the food. Keep metal objects or other sharp objects away from the device. These objects could damage the surfaces of the plates. ■ Never spray cold water onto the hot parts of the device during or directly after use. This could damage the raclette device, the non-stick coating and in particular the hot stone! ■ Do not use any caustic or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These can damage the surface. ■ Keep the device in a dry place at temperatures of between 0 and 40 °C. Notes on Hygiene ■ The device should be cleaned before you use it for the fi rst time. It is possible that production residues may still be adhering to the surfaces. It is essential that you follow the cleaning instructions in the “Before Initial Use” chapter. ■ Clean the device after each use to prevent germ formation (see the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter). ■ Keep the device clean. Fondue Forks Little Raclette Pans Wooden Spatulas21 EN Before Initial Use ATTENTION! ■ Keep the packaging away from children and pets. There is a danger of suffocation!
1. Unpack all parts and check the items supplied for transport damage. If you fi nd any
damage to the components, do not use them (!), but contact the customer service.
2. Manufacturing residues may still be adhering to the surface of the device. To prevent
any health hazards, clean the raclette grill plate, the hot stone, the little raclette pans, the wooden spatulas, the fondue pot and the fondue forks thoroughly before you fi rst use them (see the “Cleaning and Storage” chapter).
3. You should perform the initial start-up without any food since odours or smoke may
develop due to coating residues that may still be present. Allow the device to heat up for approximately 15 minutes without any food and without little raclette pans. During this time, make sure the room is well ventilated, e. g. with wide-open windows! Please also note the instructions in the “Raclette” chapter. Raclette ATTENTION! ■ Ensure that there is suffi cient ventilation while the device is in operation. ■ Ensure that the food you wish to prepare does not touch the heating elements inside the device. ■ Danger of burns! The raclette device will become very hot during use and afterwards! When setting up the raclette device, ensure that you select a location with enough clearance all round the device. ■ Always place the hot stone into the recess in the middle of the raclette plate if you do not wish to use the fondue set. This will prevent any fats and liquids from being able to drip onto the heating elements. ■ Always insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the raclette grill plate before you place the fondue pot onto the raclette grill plate. Without the receptacle, it is not possible to guarantee that the pot can be held in place securely. ■ Be careful when taking out the little raclette pans or fondue forks in order to prevent burns. ■ Keep sharp or pointy objects away from the surface of the little raclette pans and the raclette grill plate. Such objects could damage the coating! You should therefore use the wooden spatulas which are supplied or other kitchen utensils made from wood or heat-resistant plastic. ■ We recommend that you only season the ingredients after you have prepared them on the raclette device as the herbs and spices can burn if they get too hot and this may cause smoke to be produced. ■ Do not leave any empty little pans sitting on the raclette plate of the heated device.
1. Place the raclette device on a stable, heat-resistant surface which is easy to clean.
2. Connect the device to a mains socket that has been properly installed. Ensure that it
is not possible for others to trip over the connected cable.EN 22
3. If you have not already done so, position the raclette grill plate correctly on the
into the recess in the middle of the raclette grill plate. Make sure that the smooth side of the stone with the groove is facing upwards. To this end, follow the instructions in the “Hot Stone” chapter. If you wish to use the fondue set, leave the recess in the middle of the grill plate clear during the heating-up phase.
5. Allow the raclette device to heat up for approximately
10 minutes without any little raclette pans or the fondue pot before you use it. To do this, move the On/Off switch to the I position to switch on the device.
6. Set the temperature controller to the highest setting for
10 minutes. The On/Off switch and the control lamp on the temperature controller will light up when the device is switched on.
7. In the meantime, prepare the ingredients for your raclette.
When fi lling up the little raclette pans, take care to ensure that the food does not touch the heating elements of the raclette device.
8. Insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the recess in
the middle of the raclette grill plate and place the fondue pot into the receptacle if you wish to use the fondue set. When you do this, follow the instructions in the “Fondue” chapter.
9. As soon as the device has heated up, you can set the tem-
perature to refl ect your preferences. You can now place the fi lled little raclette pans for baking into the tray for the little raclette pans underneath the heating elements and grill vegetables or meat on the raclette grill plate.
10. You can use the wooden spatulas which are supplied to move the food in the little raclette
pans or on the raclette grill plate or scoop the cheese out of the little raclette pans.
11. After you have removed the little raclette pans from the raclette device, only place
them on a heat-resistant surface. Allow the little raclette pans to cool down before you put any new ingredients in them.
12. If you no longer wish to use the device, switch it off by turning the On/Off switch to the
0 position. The On/Off switch and the control lamp on the temperature controller will go out when the device is switched off. Then remove the plug from the mains socket.
13. Allow the device to cool down and then clean it (see the “Cleaning and Storage”
chapter). Do not allow any food residues to dry on.23 EN Fondue ATTENTION! ■ Danger of injury! Oil/fat or cheese will become very hot during the fondue! Handle the pot with care when it contains hot food. Make sure that the pot is not knocked over. Wear oven gloves when you handle the fondue pot. ■ Always insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the raclette grill plate before you place the fondue pot onto the raclette grill plate. Without the receptacle, it is not possible to guarantee that the pot can be held in place securely. ■ Fats and oils may catch fi re if they are overheated. Please take care when handling fats and oils. Never pour water into hot fat or hot oil! ■ For the fondue, only use fats and oils which are suitable for frying. ■ Make sure that the food which you want to cook in the fondue pot is not too moist to prevent the fat/oil from bubbling over. ■ Used cooking oils and cooking fats are not to be poured down the drain. Dispose of the cooking fat and cooking oil in the domestic waste. ■ Do not overfi ll the fondue pot. The pot should never be more than up to 2/3 full in order to prevent the risk of spitting or bubbling over. ■ In order to prepare your fondue, only heat up the fondue pot on an electric or glass ceramic cooker. Do not use other sources of heat like ovens to heat up the fondue pot. The pot is not suitable for induction cookers! Make sure you wear oven gloves when transferring hot substances!
- Prepare the raclette device in the manner described in the “Raclette” chapter. Fondue With Oil
1. Heat up frying oil or frying fat in a the fondue pot on the stove (electric or glass
2. Check whether your oil/fat has reached the right temperature by dipping a wooden
chopstick into the oil/fat. If no little bubbles form on the wooden chopstick, the oil/fat is at the right temperature.
3. Place the ring for depositing the fondue forks onto the fondue pot.
4. Insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the recess in
the middle of the raclette grill plate and place the fondue pot into the receptacle if you wish to use the fondue set. When you do this, follow the instructions in the “Fondue” chapter.
5. Now skewer vegetables or meat onto your fondue forks
and place them into the hot oil/fat until they are cooked. You should also try some food in breadcrumbs or pastry!EN 24 Fondue With Cheese
1. Prepare your cheese fondue to a recipe in the fondue pot.
2. Insert the receptacle for the fondue pot into the recess in
the middle of the raclette grill plate and place the fondue pot into the receptacle if you wish to use the fondue set. When you do this, follow the instructions in the "Fondue" chapter.
3. Skewer bread or pieces of vegetables onto the fondue
forks and dip them into the cheese fondue. Hot Stone ATTENTION! ■ Danger of injury! The stone will become very hot during use! ■ Before you fi rst use the hot stone, rub some heat-resistant cooking oil into it. ■ We recommend that you only season the ingredients after you have prepared them on the raclette device as the herbs and spices can burn if they get too hot and this may cause smoke to be produced.
1. Prepare the raclette device in the manner described in the “Raclette” chapter.
2. Place the hot stone into the recess in the middle of the raclette grill plate and allow it
to heat up. Make sure that the stone is placed in the recess with the smooth side with the groove in it facing upwards.
3. Place meat or vegetables onto the hot stone and turn the food from time to time until
4. If necessary, use a brush to dab some oil onto the hot stone so that the food does not
become stuck to it. Cleaning and Storage ATTENTION! ■ Danger of scalding from hot device parts! Allow the device to cool down before cleaning it. ■ Danger to life due to electrocution! Remove the plug from the mains socket before cleaning the device. Never immerse the raclette device, the mains cable or the plug in water. Never clean the raclette device in the dishwasher. ■ Do not spray cleaning agents directly onto the device. ■ Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaning agents to clean the device. These could damage the surface. Do not use metal objects.
- After each use, remove all food residues and rinse the raclette grill plate, the hot stone, the little raclette pans, the wooden spatulas, the fondue pot and the fondue forks with a mild cleaning agent and hot water. You can also clean the little raclette pans, the fondue forks and the wooden spatulas in the dishwasher.25 EN
- If you want to clean the tray for the little raclette pans and the heating elements, wipe them with a clean damp cloth.
- Allow all parts to dry completely before you store the device in a clean and dry place that is out of the reach of children. Troubleshooting If the device stops working properly, fi rst check whether you are able to correct the problem yourself. Do not carry out any repairs to the device, the connecting cable or the mains plug yourself! Problem Possible cause / solution The device does not work.
- Is the On/Off switch at position 0?
- Is the plug inserted in the mains socket correctly?
- Is the mains socket defective? Try another mains socket.
- Check the fuse of your mains connection. The food does not cook.
- Is the temperature set too low?
- Turn the temperature controller to a higher temperature setting. The food quickly starts to burn.
