How to fill the water tank of the Ardes ARCF02 air conditioner?

Turn off and unplug the appliance. Turn the opening handle to the horizontal position and partially extract the tank. Pour cold demineralized or distilled water between the Min and Max levels. For enhanced cooling effect, place frozen ice containers in the water. Close the tank. Never add chemicals.

How to use the heating function on the ARCF02?

Turn on the appliance and press the Heating button (E) to select the power level (minimum or maximum). Use the Temperature button (F) to choose the desired temperature: 20°C, 25°C or 30°C. If the ambient temperature exceeds the set point, the appliance goes into standby and turns on again automatically.

How to clean the dust filter and cooling pad?

Unplug the appliance. Remove the dust filter by pulling gently, rinse it under running water, dry it, then put it back by screwing. The cooling pad must be cleaned in the same way. Never operate the appliance without these elements.

Why is my appliance not cooling properly?

Check that the tank contains enough water (between Min and Max) and that the Cooling function is activated (red light on). Make sure the ice containers are frozen and placed in the tank. Also check that the dust filter is not clogged.

How to use the remote control of the ARCF02?

Remove the protective film from the battery compartment. The remote control works with a CR2025 3V battery. Point it at the control panel. The buttons allow to turn on/off, adjust speed, oscillation, cooling, heating and temperature.

Is it possible to program an automatic start or stop?

No, the ARCF02 does not have a built-in timer. Starting and stopping are done manually via the control panel or remote control. Do not use non-recommended external timers.

What types of water are recommended for the tank?

Use only cold demineralized water (previously boiled) or distilled water. Tap water may cause limescale deposits and reduce efficiency. Never add oils, perfumes or chemical substances.

How to maintain the appliance at the end of the season?

Empty and dry the tank thoroughly. Clean and dry the dust filter and cooling pad. Store the appliance in a dry place, preferably in its original packaging. Remove the batteries from the remote control if the appliance is not used for a long time.

What are the important safety precautions?

Never cover the appliance. Keep a distance of at least 1 meter from curtains and flammable materials. Do not use in a small room without supervision, nor near water (bathtub, shower, pool). Unplug it before filling or cleaning. Do not let children play with it.

How to replace the remote control battery?

Remove the used battery following the diagrams on the back of the remote control. Insert a new CR2025 3V battery respecting polarity. Keep batteries out of reach of children. Do not mix new and old batteries.

ATTENTION : read this booklet carefully it contains important instructions for a safe installation, use and maintenance. Important instructions to be kept for future reference.

This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision. Children of less than 3 years should be kept away unless continuously supervised. Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall only switch on/off the appliance provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position and they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance

in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance.

CAUTION — Some parts of this product can become very hot and cause burns. Particular attention has to be given where children and vulnerable people are present.

If the power cable gets damaged, it has to be replaced only at a service centre approved by the manufacturer in order to prevent any risks.

DO NOT disassemble the fan: this fan cannot be disassembled.

Be aware that high humidity levels may encourage the growth of biological organisms in the environment.

Do not permit the area around the appliance to become damp or wet. If dampness occurs, turn the output of the humidifier down. If the humidifier output volume cannot be turned down, use the appliance intermittently. Do not allow absorbent materials, such as carpeting, curtains, drapes, or tablecloth, to become damp.

Unplug the appliance during filling and cleaning.

Do not leave water in the reservoir when the appliance is not in use.

Empty and clean the appliance before storage. Clean the appliance before next use.

Pay attention not to overturn the appliance.

It is forbidden for the children to play with the device.

This device must be used only for the purpose it was expressly designed; any use not complying with the instructions contained in the manual is considered inappropriate and dangerous. The manufacturer is not responsible for possible damages caused by the inappropriate and/or unreasonable use.

This device is NOT suitable to use it in an explosive environment (in the presence of flammable substances such as gas, vapor, mist or dust, in atmospheric conditions when, after ignition, the combustion is spread in the air).

The packing materials (plastic bags, expanded polystyrene, etc.) must be kept out of the reach of children or disabled persons since they represent potential sources of danger.

The installation/assembly of the device will be made/ or according to the indications of the manufacturer. A wrong procedure may cause damages to persons, animals or objects, for which the manufacturer cannot be considered responsible.

Place and use the device on a horizontal and stable surface.

Before use check the integrity of the device and power cable. In case you are not sure contact a qualified person.

Before powering the device make sure the rating (voltage and frequency) corresponds to the grid and the socket is suitable for the plug of the device.

Make sure the power system is equipped with proper protection according to the law in force.

DO NOT power the device using multiple sockets.

If possible, avoid the use of adapters and/or extension cables; if their use is absolutely necessary, use only materials in compliance with the current safety regulations and according to the electrical parameters of the adapters.

The device must not be switched on using external timers and/or other remote control devices which are not specified in this manual.

DO NOT use or store the device near heat sources (heaters, stoves etc.). DO NOT dip the device in water or other liquids; in case the accidental fall in the water DO NOT try to take it out, but first of all unplug immediately the power cable from the socket.

If you use the device for the first time, make sure to remove any label or protective sheet which blocks its proper functioning.

Plug and unplug the power cable with dry hands and hold it firmly.

Before plugging make sure the start button of the device is in the "OFF" position (turned off).

Always unplug the power cable to avoid the overheating and avoid stretching it (do not pull it, tug it or use it to drag the device to which is connected).

Avoid placing the power cable on abrasive or sharp surfaces or in

positions where it can be damaged easily.

DO NOT obstruct totally nor partially the air vents or inserts objects inside.

During the functioning do not touch the device with wet body parts, and in any case it is recommended to have between you and the standing surface, an isolating element (for example wearing shoes with rubber soles).

During the use the device must be keep at a safety distance from any object and/or flammable or potentially explosive substance.

In case of malfunction or anomalies during the functioning, switch off the device immediately, turn off the power and check the cause of the anomalies, if possible, with the support of a qualified person.

Avoid carrying out operations which are not specified in this manual (such as disassembling and/or altering).

Always remember to unplug the power cable of the device if it is not used for a long period, before storing, cleaning or performing any maintenance operation.

Store and use the device only indoor or in any case protected from weathering such as rain, direct radiation of the sun and dust. The device is not design for the external use or storage.

The cleaning and maintenance of the device MUST NOT be done by children without the supervision of an adult.

Before unplugging the device, switch it off, using the proper command on the control panel.

DO NOT hang the fan on the wall or ceiling unless this type of installation is provided and explained in this manual.

Place the device at a proper distance from the objects or surrounding walls making sure that its functioning will not cause accidental damages.

DO NOT use the device near gas stoves or open flames in general.

DO NOT use the device near curtains or textiles.

If the fan must be stored for a long period and is not used regularly, place the fan in its original packaging in a dry place. When you use it for the first time after a long period of inactivity, make sure the fan is clean and the motor blades turn feely (with the device not powered) without any restraint.

WARNINGS ABOUT BATTERIES

1. KEEP BATTERIES OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN. Swallowing can lead to chemical burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. Seek medical attention immediately.

2. Do not allow children to replace batteries.

3. Always insert batteries correctly with regard to polarity (+ and -) marked on the battery and the equipment.

4. Do not short-circuit batteries.

5. Do not charge batteries.

6. Do not force discharge batteries.

7. Do not mix new and used batteries or batteries of different types or brands.

8. Exhausted batteries should be immediately removed from equipment and properly disposed of.

9. Do not heat batteries

10. Do not weld or solder directly to batteries.

11. Do not dismantle batteries.

12. Do not deform batteries.

13. Do not dispose of batteries in fire.

14. A lithium battery with a damaged container should not be exposed to water.

15. Do not encapsulate and/or modify batteries.

16. Store unused batteries in their original packaging away from metal objects. If already unpacked, do not mix or jumble batteries.

17. Remove batteries from equipment if it is not to be used for an extended period of time unless it is for emergency purposes.

18. Clean the battery contacts and also those of the equipment prior to battery installation.

19. In case of leak from batteries, avoid any contact with it; in case of contact, wash the affected part with water and seek medical attention.

Instructions for use GB

Take out the product from the giftbox and insert the wheels by pushing them inside the 4 holes placed on the bottom of the product.

Fill the water tank:

• Rotate the knob in horizontal position and pull out the water tank (Attention: the water tank cannot be opened completely).
• Fill the water tank with cold and clean demineralized water. Make sure that water level is between “Min” minimum level and “Max” maximum level.
• To increase the cool effect insert the ice box in the water tank. Before use ice box, they must be filled by water and put in the refrigerator until they are completely frozen.
• Close tha water tank.

ATTENTION!

• Make sure the product is unplugged from the mains before filling or refelling the water tank.
• Only use water in the water tank. Do not add any chemicals, oils or other additives.
• Only use cold demineralized water in the water tank (previously boiled) or distilled water.
• Make sure the water level in the water tank is between minimum level (indicated by "Min") and maximum level (indicated by "Max").
• Change the water in the tank frequently.

Place the unit on a firm level surface and plug it into a socket.

Make sure that the function switch (11) is in the OFF position “0” before connecting or disconnecting the apparatus.

To turn the appliance on, insert the plug in the power outlet, set the main switch (11) to "I".

The unit will emit a short “BIP” sound indicating that power is supplied and the indicator light (1) will be on on the control panel.

For your convenience the unit can be operated by using control panel

in the main body or by using remote control included (see image at last page).

Batteries

Remote control is supplied with battery inside (CR2025 type); remove the plastic sheet from the battery cover before use remote control. When the battery is over, it must be replaced with the same type following the drawing on the back of remote control.

OFF Button (A):

- Press Off button when unit is on to turn it off.

SPEED Button (B):

- Press Speed button to turn on the unit in fan mode and select the desired air speed: minimum (indicator light 4), medium (indicator light 5) or maximum (indicator light 6).

SWING Button (C):

- Press swing button when the unit is operating to activate the automatic left/right oscillation of vertical louvres. The “Swing” indicator light (10) will illuminate on the control panel. Press again swing button to deactivate the automatic swing.

COOLER Button (D):

• When unit is operating press cooler button one time to activate the evaporative cooling function. If this function is activated, the indicator light 11 will turn on in the control panel.

• This function use water so make sure about water level in the water tank before turn on this function.

• The ice boxes provided increase the cool effect: before use, fill them with water and put in the refrigerator until they are completely frozen. After that insert the frozen ice boxes in the water tank making sure that water level is under maximum level allowed.

• To deactivate this function press again cooler button. If the evaporative cooling function is deactivated the unit work as a fan.

HEATER button (E):

- Press Heater button to turn on the unit in heating mode and select the desired power level: minimum (indicator light 2) or maximum (indicator light 3).

TEMPERATURE button (F):

- Press Temperature button (in heating mode) to select the desired ambient temperature: 20°C (indicator light 7), 25°C (indicator light 8) or 30°C (indicator light 9).

ATTENTION

»Temperature button (F) can be pressed only in heating mode.
» Desired temperature have to be setted every time you change heating power level (E button).
» If the setted temperature is lower than ambient temperature, the unit enter in stand-by mode and it will turn on automatically when the ambiente temperature will be lower than setted temperature.

Maintenance

Before carrying out routine cleaning, switch off the fan and disconnect mains power. For external cleaning use a soft and dry cloth.

DO NOT dip the device in water, or splash it with any other liquids. DO NOT use solvents or any other chemical products for cleaning it. When you do not use it, after cleaning it, store the fan in a dry place.

DAILY CLEANING

To reduce bacteria and scale residues, empty the water tank every day after use and dry it with a soft and clean cloth.

Cleaning the anti-dust filter, cleaning the cooling pad:

Remove it from the appliance by pulling it out. Clean it with water and replace on the appliance when dry. Fix the anti-dust filter with its screw. Attention: the cooling pad and the anti-dust filter must be replaced in the appliance before turn it on.

Pull out the water tank and clean it with a soft damp cloth. If the water tank is particularly dirty use a mild soap that must be rinsed carefully.

After cleaning, dry the tank and fix the pump:

Attention: before store the fan at the end of the season is necessary completely empty the water tank and dry it. Clean even the anti-dust filter and cooling pad and make sure they are completely dry before replace them in the unit.

PACKAGING

In order to respect the environment, packaging material must be disposed of properly in accordance with separate collection.

BATTERIES - Remove the batteries from the appliance before its disposal. Do not dispose the batteries with domestic waste. The batteries must be disposed of in the appropriate containers or in the specific collecting centre. Suitable segregated collection helps prevent damage to the environment and to human health.

USER INFORMATION

"Implementation of Directive 2012/19/EU on Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE)",

pertaining to reduced use of hazardous substances in electrical and electronic equipment, as well as to waste disposal.

The symbol of the crossed-out wheelie bin on the equipment or on its packaging indicates that the product must be disposed of separately from other waste at the end of its service life.

The user must therefore take the dismissed equipment to suitable separate collection centres for electrical and electronic waste.

Terms and Conditions

The guarantee is valid for 24 months.

This guarantee applies only if it has been duly filled in and is submitted with the receipt showing the date of purchase.

The guarantee covers the replacement or repair of parts making up the appliance which were faulty at source due to manufacturing faults.

After the guarantee has expired, the appliance will be repaired against payment.

The manufacturer declines any responsibility for damage to persons, animals or property due to misuse of the appliance and failure to observe the directions contained in the instructions.

Limits

All rights under this guarantee and any responsibility on our part will be voided if the appliance has been:

- mishandled by unauthorized persons

- improperly used, stored or transported.

The guarantee does not cover damage to the outward appearance or any other that does not prevent regular operation.
