How to use steam ironing?

Set the steam lever to STEAM. Choose the desired temperature (LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH) and wait for the iron to preheat (the indicator stops flashing). Fill the water tank if necessary. Use the steam burst or spray for more efficient ironing.

What to do if the iron does not heat up?

Check that the iron is properly plugged in and that the outlet works (test with a lamp). Make sure a temperature setting (LOW, MEDIUM or HIGH) is selected. If the OFF button is flashing, the auto shut-off function is activated: select a temperature setting to turn the iron back on.

How to clean the iron soleplate?

Let the iron cool down. Lower the steam lever to DRY. Wipe the soleplate with a cloth dampened with soapy water. Never use abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, as they may scratch the surface.

How does the auto shut-off work?

The iron shuts off automatically after 30 seconds of inactivity if resting on its soleplate or side, and after 15 minutes if resting on its heel. The OFF button then flashes and a beep may sound. To reactivate, simply select a temperature setting.

How to use the self-cleaning function?

Lower the steam lever to DRY, set the temperature to HIGH and let it heat for 2 minutes. Turn off the iron and unplug it. Hold the iron over a sink, position the lever to STEAM, then press and hold the self-cleaning button until the tank is empty.

Why is water leaking from the iron?

This may be due to an overfilled tank. In steam mode, make sure the lever is on STEAM, the temperature is set, and the iron has preheated. In dry mode, check the lever is on DRY. Residual water may also come from condensation; wipe it off.

How to store the iron after use?

Turn off the iron (OFF) and unplug it. Let it cool completely. Empty the water tank. Lower the steam lever to DRY. Store the iron upright on its heel. Wrap the cord loosely around the iron.

What to do if the soleplate leaves stains on clothes?

Always empty the water tank after use. Standing water can discolor clothes and the soleplate. Clean the soleplate with a damp cloth. If stains persist, use the self-cleaning function.

How to untwist a twisted cord?

Turn off the iron and unplug it. Let it cool and empty the water. Hold the cord at the midpoint of its full length and let the plug hang freely until the cord is completely untwisted. This extends the cord's lifespan.

What to do if all temperature buttons are flashing?

When using your flatiron, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS BEFORE USING

1. Use iron only for its intended use.
2. Verify that the voltage in your home corresponds to that of your appliance.
3. To protect against risk of electric shock, do not immerse the iron in water or other liquids.
4. The iron should always be turned to OFF before plugging or unplugging from outlet. Never yank cord to disconnect from outlet; instead, grasp plug and pull to disconnect.
5. Do not allow cord to touch hot surfaces. Let iron cool completely before putting away. Loop cord loosely around iron when storing.
6. Always disconnect iron from electrical outlet when filling with water or emptying and when not in use.

7. Do not operate iron with a damaged cord or if the iron has been dropped or damaged. To avoid the risk of electric shock, do not disassemble the iron. Call our toll-free customer service number for information on examination and repair. Incorrect reassembly can cause a risk of electric shock when the iron is used.

8. Close supervision is necessary for any appliance being used by or near children. Do not leave iron unattended while connected or on an ironing board.

9. Burns can occur from touching hot metal parts, hot water, or steam. Use caution when you turn a steam iron upside down – there may be hot water in the reservoir.

SPECIAL INSTRUCTIONS

1. To avoid a circuit overload, do not operate another high-wattage appliance on the same circuit.

2. If an extension cord is absolutely necessary, a 15-ampere cord should be used. Cords rated for less amperage may overheat. Care should be taken to arrange the cord so that it cannot be pulled or tripped over.

This product is intended for household use only.

WARNING! Shock Hazard: This appliance has a polarized plug (one wide blade) that reduces the risk of electric shock. The plug fits only one way into a polarized outlet. Do not defeat the safety purpose of the plug by modifying the plug in any way or by using an adapter. If the plug does not fit, reverse the plug. • Use the iron on an ironing board. Ironing on any other surface may damage that surface.

- Do not iron or vertical-steam clothes that are being worn. 2

• Do not use vertical steam in the direction of people or pets.
• Steam vents should be cleaned before first use. Prepare iron for steam ironing; then iron over an old cloth for a few minutes while letting the iron steam. This will clean the vents.
• Many irons spit or sputter during the first few uses with tap water. This happens as the steam chamber becomes conditioned. This will stop after a few uses.
• During first use of the iron, it may appear to smoke. This will stop and does not indicate a defect or hazard.

Do not store iron laying flat on soleplate.

NOTICE: To avoid damage to the iron soleplate:

• Never iron over zippers, pins, metal rivets, or snaps.
• Wipe with a soapy cloth to clean occasional buildup on the soleplate. Never use abrasive cleansers or metal scouring pads, since they may scratch the surface.
  • Always store iron upright on the heel rest (see Step 4).

Self-Clean Feature

To keep the steam vents clear of any buildup, follow these instructions each time you iron using steam.

Troubleshooting

PROBLEM	PROBABLE CAUSE/SOLUTION
Iron won't heat.	Is iron plugged in and the outlet working? Check outlet by plugging in a lamp.Has a temperature been selected? Select LOW, MEDIUM, or HIGH button.Has Auto Off feature activated (OFF button blinking)? Select a temperature setting to turn iron back on.

Iron leaves spots on clothing.	ALWAYS empty water tank after using. Water left in tank may discolor clothing and soleplate.
Wrinkles not removed.	Choose correct temperature setting for your fabric.
Fabric/clothing scorched.	Select a lower temperature setting. Allow iron to cool for 5 minutes before continuing.
Twisted cord.	If cord becomes twisted, turn iron OFF and unplug. Let cool. Empty any water from iron. Hold cord in the middle of entire length. Let plug and iron dangle freely until cord uncoils. This will extend the life of your iron cord.
All temperature selection buttons and OFF button blinking.	If all temperature selection buttons are blinking, unplug iron and then plug it back in. This should reset the display. If not, Call Customer Service (numbers on cover).

Limited Warranty

This warranty applies to products purchased in the U.S. and Canada. This is the only express warranty for this product and is in lieu of any other warranty or condition.

This product is warranted to be free from defects in material and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of original purchase. During this period, your exclusive remedy is repair or replacement of this product or any component found to be defective, at our option; however, you are responsible for all costs associated with returning the product to us and our returning a product or component under this warranty to you. If the product or component is no longer available, we will replace with a similar one of equal or greater value.

This warranty does not cover glass, filters, wear from normal use, use not in conformity with the printed directions, or damage to the product resulting from accident, alteration, abuse, or misuse. This warranty extends only to the original consumer purchaser or gift recipient. Keep the original sales receipt, as proof of purchase is required to make a warranty claim. This warranty is void if the product is used for other than single-family household use.
