1.1 About these operating instructions

2.1 Essential safety instructions

WARNING! READ AND SAVE THESE INSTRUCTIONS! Read and follow all safety instructions and other instructions given in this document. Failure to follow all instructions listed below can result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.

2.2 General safety instructions

▶ If the product is used in conjunction with a power tool, read the operating instructions for the power tool before use and comply with all the instructions and warnings. ▶ Do not tamper with or attempt to make alterations to the product. ▶ Use the right product for the job. Do not use the product for purposes for which it was not intended. Use it only as directed and when in faultless condition. ▶ Before beginning work with the product, find out how to operate it correctly and about any hazards associated with the materials it will be inducting and how these materials can be disposed of. ▶ Take the influences of the surrounding area into account. Do not use the product where there is a risk of fire or explosion. ▶ Only persons who are familiar with it, who have been trained on how to use it safely and who understand the resulting hazards are permitted to use the tool. The tool is not intended for use by children. ▶ Store the product in a secure place when not in use. Products which are not in use must be stored in a dry, high place or locked away out of reach of children.

▶ Ensure that the workplace is well lit. ▶ Ensure that the workplace is well ventilated. Exposure to dust at a poorly ventilated workplace may result in damage to the health. ▶ Keep the work area clean and uncluttered and watch out for supply cords routed in the work area. Carelessly routed supply cords can constitute trip hazards and lead to injuries. ▶ Do not operate the product in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Electric appliances cause sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.

2.4 Electrical safety

▶ The plug on the supply cord of the product must match the outlet. Do not change the plug in any way. Do not use adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) products. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets reduce risk of electric shock. ▶ Do not use the product with a damaged supply cord or plug. Return a product with damaged supply cord or plug to an authorized Hilti service facility for examination and/or repair.*2297302* 2297302 English 3 ▶ Do not lay the supply cord under carpeting, furniture or other appliances. Do not cover the cord with throw rugs, runners or similar coverings. Arrange the supply cord away from traffic areas and ensure that the supply cord does not cause tripping hazards. ▶ Insert the plug in a suitable earthed/grounded power outlet which has been correctly and safely installed and is in compliance with local regulations. If you are in doubt about the effectiveness of the power outlet’s earth/ground connection, have it checked by a qualified specialist. ▶ Do not expose the product to rain or moisture. Water entering an electric device will increase the risk of electric shock. ▶ Check to ensure that the supply cord does not lie in a puddle of water. ▶ Check the product’s supply cord at regular intervals and have it replaced by Hilti Service if damage is found. Check extension cords at regular intervals and replace them if found to be damaged. ▶ Do not touch the supply cord or extension cord if they are damaged while working. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet. Damaged supply cords or extension cords present a risk of electric shock. ▶ The electric supply cord may be replaced only with a cord of the type specified in the operating instructions. ▶ Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, hanging up or unplugging the product. Keep the cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges and moving parts of the product. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock. ▶ In the event of an interruption in the electric supply, switch the product off and unplug it from the power outlet.

Use the power outlet on the product only for the purposes described in the operating instructions. ▶ Never operate the product when it is dirty or wet. Dust (especially dust from conductive materials) or dampness on the surface of the product may, under unfavorable conditions, lead to electric shock. Have dirtied or dusty products checked at regular intervals by Hilti Service, especially if they are used frequently for working on conductive materials.

▶ Do not use the product where there is asbestos contamination. ▶ Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when working with the product. Do not use the product while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating the product can result in serious personal injury. ▶ Avoid unusual body positions. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. ▶ During use and maintenance of the product, the user and persons in the vicinity must wear suitable eye protection, a hard hat, ear protection, protective gloves, protective footwear and respiratory protection appropriate for the dust load. ▶ Make sure that the product cannot roll away or fall. ▶ Observe the accident prevention regulations applicable in your country. ▶ If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of a vacuum cleaner can reduce dust-related hazards. ▶ This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or persons lacking the appropriate experience and/or knowledge. These persons must receive instruction in safe handling of the product and must be supervised throughout their use of the product by a responsible person. ▶ Children must receive instruction and be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the product. ▶ This product can be used by children 8 years of age or older and by persons with physical, sensory or mental disabilities or little relevant experience or know-how if they are supervised or have received instruction on the safe use of the product and the resulting hazards. Do not allow children to play with the product. Do not allow unsupervised children to clean the device or to carry out user-maintenance tasks.

2.6 Additional safety instructions

▶ Do not use the product if the supply cord and/or the plug is damaged. Make sure that supply cord and extension cord are not exposed to moisture and/or damp. Do not touch the supply cord if it is damaged while work is in progress. ▶ Before starting, check all filters and seals and replace damaged filters. Operate the product only with approved filters (pre-filters and main filters) installed. ▶ Do not allow water to collect in the hollow of the grip. Clean the drain hole at regular intervals. ▶ Whenever the room is occupied, always operate the product at the highest power level. ▶ Make sure that the main-filter frame is securely installed and correctly seated.4 English 2297302 *2297302* ▶ Do not use the air filter in the vicinity of flammable and explosive gases. ▶ Make sure that the product is so steady that there is no risk of it tipping over. ▶ Avoid tilting the product while it is in operation. The flow of air from the air discharge can swirl dust off the floor if the flow of air is directed toward the floor. ▶ Avoid moving the product while it is in operation. ▶ When the product starts up, it produces a strong current of discharged air. This can swirl up dust in the product's immediate vicinity. ▶ Always switch the product off at the main switch! The start-up capacitor can carry an electrical charge even after the plug has been disconnected from the power outlet. ▶ Do not use the product to filter hot or incandescent fragments or particles. Make sure that the temperature of the inducted contaminated air does not exceed 60 °C (140 °F). ▶ Do not permit the product to become overloaded or blocked because of an overfilled filter. As soon as the indicator light for filter change shows, stop working with the product and change the filters. ▶ To reduce the risk of injury use only genuine Hilti accessories and spare parts or those of equivalent quality. ▶ Before beginning cleaning and maintenance work, switch the product off and unplug it from the power outlet. Before you open the filter cover, wait until the turbine has come to a complete stop. ▶ Do not transport the product by crane or with hoists. ▶ Do not stand on the product (do not use it as a substitute for a ladder). ▶ Connect the product only to a properly earthed/grounded power source. ▶ Before you unplug the supply cord of a power tool from the product's electric tool power outlet, always first disconnect the product from the main electricity supply. ▶ Store the product and its accessories in dry rooms. The product described is an air cleaner for removing fine dust particles from room air and is designed for professional use, e.g. in hotels, stores and offices and indoors on construction sites. The product was developed for use in dry rooms where there is no risk of explosion. Do not use the product in environments where there is asbestos contamination. 4.1 Product properties

For details of the rated voltage, rated current, frequency and/or nominal power input, refer to the product’s country-specific type identification plate.

(33 ft²) 5 Use of extension cords Use of extension cords WARNING A damaged supply cord presents a hazard! Do not touch the supply cord or extension cord if it is damaged while work is in progress. Disconnect the supply cord plug from the power outlet. ▶ Check the appliance's supply cord at regular intervals and replace it if it is damaged.

  • Use only extension cords of a type approved for the application and with conductors of adequate gauge (cross section). The appliance may otherwise suffer a drop in performance and the extension cord may overheat.
  • Regularly check the extension cord for damage.
  • Replace damaged extension cords. Information on recommended minimum conductor cross-sections and cable lengths is accessible via a link, in the form of a QR code, at the end of this document. 6 Operation You achieve optimum cleaning power when you operate the product without hoses connected and with the shutter open. Depending on the conditions and the application, you can connect an intake hose or position the product directly in a dust-stop partition wall. The product has 2 air-cleaning stages. In operation, use stage 2 with the higher cleaning power. The stage 1 setting is only for post-cleaning the air. It can be activated when the room is unoccupied. Before work starts, remove the air inlet cover.

1. Make sure that the product is steady and cannot topple.

2. To switch on, turn the control switch to the stage 2 position (full power).

3. To switch off, turn the control switch to the OFF position.

6.1 Integration into dust-stop partition wall 2

You can operate the product with an extraction hose or integrate it directly into a dust-stop partition wall with the dust-stop partition wall adapter and vacuum dust out of the inside of the dust-stop partition wall without6 English 2297302 *2297302* the product being directly in the room. To operate the product with an intake hose connected or integrate the product directly into a dust-stop partition wall, the shutters on both sides of the product must be closed.

1. Pull the dust-stop partition wall adapter off air inlet cover (1).

2. Position the product at the dust-stop partition wall.

3. Use the dust-stop partition wall adapter to secure the dust-stop partition wall to the air inlet.

Turn the dust-stop partition wall adapter through 180° so that the inner ring fits into the air inlet.

4. If necessary, cut an opening into the dust-stop partition wall secured to the air inlet.

5. Shut off the side filters by pulling the shutter up.

6. Switch the tool on.

6.2 Replacing pre-filters 3

1. Switch the product off and wait until the turbine runs down to a complete stop.

2. Open the pre-filter cover (1).

3. Remove the pre-filter and insert a new pre-filter (2).

4. Remove dust residues.

5. Close the pre-filter cover (3).

6.3 Replacing main filters 4

1. Switch the product off and wait until the turbine runs down to a complete stop.

2. Open both toggle catches and remove the housing cover by lifting it up (1).

3. Remove heavy accretions of dust inside the housing with a vacuum cleaner.

Ascertain the dust class of the dust and use a vacuum cleaner approved for the dust class.

6. Open the rotary catches (3) and replace the main filter (4).

7. Replace the pre-filters (5).

8. Lower the housing cover into position (6) and seal the filter cover by closing the toggle catches (7).

7 Care and maintenance WARNING Electric shock hazard! Attempting care and maintenance with the supply cord connected to a power outlet can lead to severe injury and burns. ▶ Always unplug the supply cord before carrying out care and maintenance tasks. Care

  • Carefully remove stubborn dirt from the tool.
  • Clean the air vents carefully with a dry brush.
  • Use only a slightly damp cloth to clean the casing. Do not use cleaning agents containing silicone as they can attack the plastic parts. Maintenance WARNING Danger of electric shock! Improper repairs to electrical components may lead to serious injuries including burns. ▶ Repairs to the electrical section of the tool or appliance may be carried out only by trained electrical specialists.
  • Check all visible parts and controls for signs of damage at regular intervals and make sure that they all function correctly.
  • Do not operate the product if signs of damage are found or if parts malfunction. Have it repaired immediately by Hilti Service.
  • After cleaning and maintenance, fit all guards or protective devices and check that they function correctly.*2297302* 2297302 English 7 To help ensure safe and reliable operation, use only genuine Hilti spare parts and consumables. 7.1 Intervals for filter replacements

Replacing pre-filters ▶ Replace all pre-filters at least 1× a day. ▶ Replace all pre-filters at the latest as soon as the indicator light (filter change) shows. Replacing main filters ▶ Replace all main filters at least 3× a year. ▶ Replace all main filters at the latest as soon as the indicator light (filter change) shows again after you have replaced the pre-filters. 8 Transport and storage Transport ▶ Do not transport this product with an accessory installed, for example the extraction hose. ▶ Make sure that the equipment is held securely throughout all transport operations. ▶ After transporting, always check all visible parts and controls for signs of damage and make sure that they all function correctly. ▶ Close the shutter prior to transport. This stops dust from the product escaping into the environment and prevents dust from making its way into the product from outside. Storage ▶ Always store this product with the electric supply cable unplugged from the electricity supply. ▶ Store this product in a dry place, where it cannot be accessed by children or unauthorized persons. ▶ After a long period of storage, always check all visible parts and controls for signs of damage and make sure that they all function correctly. 9 Troubleshooting If the trouble you are experiencing is not listed in this table or you are unable to remedy the problem by yourself, contact Hilti Service. Trouble or fault Possible cause Action to be taken The product cannot be switched on. The supply cord is not plugged in correctly. ▶ Plug the supply cord into the power outlet. The supply cord or plug is defec- tive. ▶ Contact Hilti Service. There is dust in the discharged air. The filter seal of the filter is dam- aged. ▶ Replace the filter and clean the interior of the product. There are holes in the filter. ▶ Replace the filter and clean the interior of the product. The filter indicator light comes on after replacement of the pre-filter. Main filter clogged. ▶ Replace the main filter. If the filter indicator light comes on despite these measures, contact Hilti Service. 10 Disposal Most of the materials from which Hilti tools and appliances are manufactured can be recycled. The materials must be correctly separated before they can be recycled. In many countries, your old tools, machines or appliances can be returned to Hilti for recycling.
