IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliance, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

- If this appliance has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other), it is to reduce the risk of electric shock. This plug is intended to fit into a polarized outlet only one way. Safety instructions
- Never leave the appliance unattended when in use.

Short Cord instructions
A short power-supply cord (or detachable power-supply cord) is to be provided to reduce the risk resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord.
Longer detachable power-supply cords or extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use.
If a long detachable power-supply cord or extension cord is used :
1) The marked electrical rating of the cord or extension cord should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance;
2) If the appliance is of the grounded type, the extension cord should be a grounding 3-wire cord; and
3) The longer cord should be arranged so that it does not drape over the countertop or table top where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over unintentionally.

They apply to every version depending on the accessories that come with your appliance. Installation
- Never place the appliance directly on a fragile surface (glass table, tablecloth, varnished furniture, etc.) or on a soft surface such as a kitchen towel.
- Do not place the appliance on or near slippery or hot surfaces; never leave the electrical cord over a source of heat (hotplates, gas cookers, etc.).
- Open the appliance.
- Remove all packaging, stickers or various accessories from the interior and exterior of the appliance.
- Cooking fumes may be dangerous for animals which have a particularly sensitive respiratory system, such as birds. We advise bird owners to keep them away from the cooking area.
- Before first use, wash the plates (follow paragraph after use), pour a little cooking oil onto the plates and wipe with a soft cloth or paper kitchen towel. Remove any surplus oil using clean kitchen paper towel.
Choice of plates
- According to the model, you may use different sets of plates.
- Make sure that the appliance is cold and unplugged before changing the plates.
- To remove the plates (B) Open the appliance (A)
- Press the release buttons while holding the plate in place, then pull it out using the handles on either of its sides.
• To replace the plates ( C ) - Place the plate at an angle with the slots below the stops.
- Press down on the plate to lock it down.
Connection and pre-heating
- Close the appliance.
- Fully unwind the electrical cord.
- Plug the electrical cord into the wall socket: the light red comes on (D)
- Leave the appliance to pre-heat: the green light comes on when the correct cooking temperature is reached.
- Do not touch the hot surfaces of the appliance but use the handle.
Always use a wooden or plastic spatula to avoid damaging the cooking plate.
Never heat up the appliance without its two plates in place.
- Never run the appliance empty.
Cooking
- Every time you start cooking, wait until the green indicator light comes on before pouring the mixture.
Toasted sandwich function (E1 - E2 - E3)

- Open the appliance and place the sandwiches prepared on the hotplates.
- Close the appliance during cooking, using the handle.
- Leave the toasted sandwiches to cook for the time recommended by the recipe.
- Remove the toasted sandwiches when they are golden brown.
Cooking times may vary
When using for the first time, a slight odour or small amount of smoke may be given off; this is normal.
During the cooking time, it is normal that the pilot light green turns on and off intermittently.
(between 3 to 5 minutes) depending on the type and quantity of bread used.
Waffle function (F1 - F2 - F3)

- Open the appliance and pour the waffle mix over the hotplates (the amount of waffle mix poured should not exceed the height of the separation between the cooking patterns on the hotplates).
- Close the appliance during cooking, using the handle.
- For your own safety, the appliance has a steam deflector that protects the handle from cooking steam.
- Leave the waffles to cook for the time recommended by the recipe.
- Remove the waffles using a spatula.
Cooking times may vary (between 3 to 5 minutes) depending on the type and quantity of the waffle mix used.
After use
- Unplug the electrical cord from the wall socket (G).
- Leave the appliance open to allow it to cool for at least two hours (H).
- Remove the plates ( I ).
- Clean the plates and body of the appliance using a sponge and washing-up liquid (J). The plates can be washed in a dishwasher (M).
- Do not use a scouring pad or scouring powder (K).
- Never immerse the appliance or electrical cord in water. They are not dishwasher safe (L-M).
Storage
- The appliance can be stored vertically to save space (N).
- Close the appliance and lock it shut with the closing clip.
- Wind the electrical cord in the space designed for storage.
Recipes
Waffles recipes (makes about 12 waffles)
Install the waffle plates. Pour on the mixture, taking care to fill each plate without it overflowing. Leave to cook for around 4 min. according to the desired degree of cooking. Avoid opening the appliance during cooking. Place the waffles on a cooling rack and wait for 1 min. before eating them: this makes them crunchier. Cooks note: 1 American cup is equivalent to 237 ml or 8 fl oz.
Chocolate waffles
- 2 cups of packet pancake or waffle mix (about 210 g) • 3 tbsps of unsweetened cocoa • 2 tbsps of sugar • 1/4 cup of chocolate chips (about 40 g) • 1/3 cup of finely chopped walnuts (about 40 g) • 1,5 cups of milk (255 ml) • 1/3 cup of vegetable oil (about 80 ml) • 2 large eggs • 1 /2 tsp of vanilla essence
In a large bowl, mix the pancake mix, cocoa powder, sugar, chocolate and walnuts according to taste.
In another bowl, mix the milk, oil, eggs and vanilla essence. Add the liquid ingredients to the pancake mix and stir until even. Leave the mixture to rest for 5 min.
Pour the desired amount of mixture into the waffle-maker.
Leave to cook until there is no more steam, i.e. after around 4 min.
Serve with whipped cream and chocolate sauce.
Banana and Pecan nut waffles
- 2 very ripe crushed bananas • 1 cup of milk (about 237 ml) • 2 tbsps of vegetable oil • 1 large egg • 1/2 tsp of vanilla essence • 2 cups of packet pancake or waffle mix (about 210 g) • 1/4 cup of finely chopped Pecan nuts (about 30 g)
In a large bowl, mix the bananas, milk, oil, eggs and vanilla essence.
Stir the pancake mixture and the walnuts evenly.
Leave the mixture to settle for 5 min.
Pour the desired amount of mixture into the waffle-maker.
Leave to cook until there is no more steam, i.e. after around 4 min.
Serve with maple syrup.
Oat, apple and cinnamon waffles
- 2 cups of packet pancake or waffle mix (about 210 g) • 1/4 cup of oats (quick-cooking type) • 2 tbsps of caster sugar • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon • 1,5 cups of milk • 2 tbsps of vegetable oil • 1 large egg • 3/4 cup of peeled McIntosh or Braeburn apples cut into small pieces
In a large bowl, stir in the pancake mix, oats, sugar, and cinnamon.
In another bowl, mix the milk, oil, egg and apples. Add the liquid ingredients to the pancake mix and stir until even. Leave the mixture to settle for 5 min.
Pour the desired amount of mixture into the waffle-maker.
Leave to cook until there is no more steam, i.e. after around 4 min.
Toasted sandwiches recipes
Install the sandwich plates. Place the sandwiches in the hollows of the plates with the butter on the outside surface of the bread. Close the appliance and gradually clamp the handles together to seal the slices of bread together. Leave to cook for around 3 to 4 min. according to the desired degree of cooking
Croque-Roquefort
- 4 slices of white bread • 30 g of butter - 8 walnuts • 50 g of Roquefort cheese
Butter the slices of bread on the outer faces.
Remove the walnuts from their shells and cut them into pieces.
Mix with 10 g of butter and the Roquefort.
Spread the preparation onto two slices then cover them with the other two slices.
Croque-monsieur Virginia
- 4 slices of white bread • 20 g of butter • 1 small onion - chives • 4 tblsp of drained cottage cheese • 1 tblsp of cream • salt - paprika
Butter the slices of bread on the outer surfaces.
Peel the onion and cut it into thin slices. Wash the chives and cut them into small pieces using scissors.
In a dish, mix the onion and chives with the cottage cheese, the cream, a pinch of salt and half a teaspoon of paprika.
Spread the mixture onto the unbuttered side of two slices then cover them with the other two slices, so the butter is on the outside.
Croque dessert
- 4 slices of white bread • 20 g of butter • 2 bars of plain chocolate • half a banana
Butter the slices of bread on the outer surfaces.
Place two chunks of chocolate, the banana cut into round slices and two more chunks of chocolate onto the unbuttered side of two slices of bread.
Then cover with the other slices of bread, with the butter on the outside.
