2. BEFORE USE

  • This appliance is packaged in a way as to protect it during transport. Take the appliance out of its box and remove all packaging materials. You can keep the original box and other packaging elements in a safe place to prevent damage to the appliance if you need to transport it in the future. In case the original packaging is disposed of, make sure all packaging materials are recycled accordingly.
  • Make sure all parts and components are included and in good conditions. If there is any piece missing or in bad conditions, contact the official Cecotec Technical Support Service immediately.
  • Do not remove the serial number of the appliance in order to keep a correct traceability of it in case of assistance.

Note:

After leaving the factory, some oil may remain in the interior cavity of the microwave or on the heating elements, which may cause a slight smell or even some smoke the first few times it is used. This is a normal phenomenon that will disappear with use. However, we recommend that you keep the door open to ensure good ventilation.

Recommendation:

To prevent this from happening while cooking food, we advise you to place a cup of water in the microwave, select maximum power and turn the microwave on several times until this no longer occurs.

3. OPERATION

3.1. Mains connection

  1. When you connect the microwave to the mains, the display will flash 3 times.
  2. Then the “:” symbol will flash reminding you to set the time.

3.2. Knob: Automatic cooking - time/weight selection

- You can increase or decrease the cooking time or adjust the weight of the food by turning the knob.

3.3. Pause/Cancel button

Before starting the programme

- Press once: cancels the selection.

During an on-going programme:

  • Press once: pauses the programme.
  • Press twice: cancels the programme.

End of cooking beeping

  • "End" will be shown on the display and three beeps will sound.
  • If you do not press the Pause/Cancel button once or do not open the door, a beep will sound every three minutes.

3.4 Express cooking

  • Standby mode: press the start button to start at the highest power for one minute.
  • To increase or decrease the time: turn the knob.

3.5 Setting the time

  1. When the microwave is connected to the mains, the ":" symbol will flash.
  2. Press the Preset/Clock button once.
  3. To set the hour, turn the knob to the desired time value.
  4. Press the Preset/Clock button again to confirm the hour.
  5. To set the minutes, turn the knob to the desired minute value.

3.6 Cooking/warming in the microwave

Press the power button to adjust the power. The selected power level will appear on the display (options: 100P - 80P - 60P - 40P - 20P).

High power100 % microwave power. This power level is suitable for heating food quickly.
Medium-high power80 % microwave power. This power level is suitable for heating food quickly but without using the maximum power.
Medium power60 % microwave power. This power level is suitable for steam heating.
Medium-low power40 % microwave power. This power level is suitable for defrosting food.
Low power20 % microwave power. This power level is suitable for keeping food warm.

Important recommendations

  • Maximum time: the maximum programmable time is 60 minutes.
  • Caution: do not operate the microwave if it is empty.
  • Max. power: if you use the microwave at maximum power, this will be automatically reduced after a certain period of time to extend the lifespan of the appliance.
  • Interruption to turn food: if you need to turn the food while cooking, press the Start button to resume cooking after doing so.
  • Early stop: if you wish to remove the food before the programmed time is up, press the Pause/Cancel button to avoid an unintentional restart of the microwave.

3.7 Grill function or combined function

Press the Grill/Combi button 1 to 3 times, depending on the desired option. The display will show G, C1 or C2, depending on your selection:

G GrillIf you select the Grill function, the heating element will start. This function is suitable for browning thin beef steaks, sausages or chicken wings.
C.1Combination function 1If you choose this function, the food will be cooked in the microwave for 30% of the selected time and the remaining 70% of the time, the Grill function will be activated.
C.2Combination function 2If you choose this function, the food will be cooked in the microwave for 55% of the selected time and the remaining 45% of the time, the Grill function will be activated.

When the Grill function is on, all internal parts of the microwave, as well as the grill rack and the cooking containers, reach high temperatures. Be careful when removing any item from the microwave. To avoid burns, use thick cloths or oven oven mitts.

Example: cooking food with combination function 2 for 10 minutes.

3.8 Defrost

This function is used for defrosting food. When the defrost button is pressed, the display will show d.1, d.2 or d.3, depending on the selected option:

d.1 This option is suitable for defrosting meat weighing between 100 gr and 2 kg.
d.2 This option is suitable for defrosting poultry weighing between 200 gr and 3 kg.
d.3 This option is suitable for defrosting seafood weighing between 100 gr and 900 gr.

Recommendations:

  • It is recommended to turn the food over halfway through the defrosting process.
  • Defrosting normally takes longer than cooking food.
  • When the food can be easily cut with a knife, it means that it is completely defrosted.
  • Microwaves penetrate about 4 cm into most food.
  • Eat defrosted food as soon as possible. It is not advisable to put them back in the fridge and freeze them again.

3.8 Automatic cooking function

  • This microwave has an automatic cooking function. When the ":" symbol flashes on the display, turn the knob. The display will show A.1, A.2 ... A.8, depending on your selection.
  • Choose the appropriate option according to the type and weight of food, and strictly follow the instructions in the table below.

A.1 PopcornThis option is suitable for popping a bag of popcorn weighing no more than 85 gr. When you see the corn kernels stop popping, press the Pause/Cancel button to stop the process.
A.2 PopcornThis option is suitable for popping a bag of popcorn weighing no more than 100 gr.
A.3 PizzaThis option is suitable for heating a refrigerated pizza slice of up to 150 gr.
A.4 DrinksThis option is suitable for heating a 250 ml cup of liquid. The temperature of this liquid must be between 5 and 10 °C. Use a cup or a wide-mouthed glass and do not cover it.
A.5 DrinksThis option is suitable for heating a 500 ml cup of liquid. The temperature of this liquid must be between 5 and 10 °C. Use a cup or a wide-mouthed glass and do not cover it.
A.6 PotatoesThis option is suitable for cooking potatoes cut into strips. The total weight must not exceed 450 gr. Place the potatoes cut into strips in a large bowl and cover with cling film to prevent the potatoes from losing moisture.
A.7PotatoesIn this case, the total weight of the potatoes must not exceed 650 gr.

A.8 FishThis option is suitable for steaming fish fillets up to 450 gr. After washing the fish and removing the scales, cut a slit in the skin of the fish and place it in a shallow dish of 22-27 cm diameter. Sprinkle lightly with toppings and cover with cling film to prevent water loss. When finished cooking, leave to stand for 2 minutes.
  • The temperature of the food before cooking should be between 20 and 25^ . If it is lower or higher than these values, you will have to increase or decrease the cooking time.
  • The temperature, weight, and shape of the food will strongly influence the microwave effect on the cooking process. If the characteristics of the food do not completely match those described, adjust the cooking time for best results.

3.9 Delay start function

If you do not want the selected programme to start immediately, you can set the Delay start function. Follow the steps below:

  1. Set the time.
  2. Select the desired option and cooking time.
Example: it is currently 12:30 and you want the microwave to start automatically at maximum power for 9 minutes and 30 seconds at 14:20.

3.10 Multi-stage cooking

Some recipes require cooking in several stages. You can schedule this process as follows:

Example: you want to cook the food at maximum power for 3 minutes and, after this time, you want the microwave to operate at low power for 9 minutes. This is the 2-stage configuration.

3.11 Safety child lock

  • Use this function to lock the control panel when cleaning or to prevent children from using the microwave without supervision. If you activate this function, all buttons will be inoperative.
  • To enable the Child Lock: Press and hold the Pause/Cancel button for 3 seconds.
  • To disable the Child Lock: Press and hold the Pause/Cancel button again for 3 seconds.

4. TIPS

  • Placing the food: place the thickest parts of the food towards the edge of the turntable. Try to avoid overlapping food.
  • Watch the cooking time: cook for the shortest amount of time at first, and add more minutes if necessary. Overheating food can cause it to smoke or burn.
  • Cover food while cooking: covering the food you are going to cook avoids spattering and allows for a more even cooking.
    – Turn or stir food 1 time during the cooking process (e.g., hamburgers or steaks).
  • Follow the recommended pre-heating time. Pre-heating time specified on the food label must not be exceeded.
  • Switch the food in the middle of the process, e.g., place the meatballs first on top and then on the bottom, and the meatballs on the outside to the inside and vice versa.
  • The use of round or oval plates is recommended rather than square plates, as the food in corners tends to overcook.
  • It is important to use materials and containers which are suitable and safe for microwave cooking. The table below shows which materials are suitable and which are not:

5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNINGS:

  • Disconnect the power cable from the socket before cleaning the appliance. Do not immerse in water or any other liquid when cleaning.
  • If you do not clean the microwave regularly, its service life will be affected.
  • Do not use abrasive cleaning products or scouring pads to clean the microwave.
  • Do not remove the mica plate.
  • If you notice that the microwave is emitting unpleasant odours, follow one of the 3 cleaning methods below:

A Place several lemon slices in a cup and heat them at high power for 2 to 3 minutes.
B Place a cup of red tea and heat it on high power.
C Put in some orange peels and heat on high power for 1 minute.

- When you have finished using the microwave, wipe the inside surfaces that have come into contact with food with a damp cloth to remove any residue and then dry them thoroughly. Accumulated grease can overheat and start to smoke or catch fire.

  • Also clean the exterior, door, seals, viewing window and adjacent parts.
  • When the microwave is not in use, place it in a dry and ventilated place.
