How to light the barbecue?

Pour approximately 20 ml of firelighter gel into the gel container and light it. Place the charcoal container with a maximum of 250 g of charcoal into the flames using the tongs. Wait until the charcoal is glowing before placing the grill plate.

What type of charcoal to use?

Use regular charcoal, not briquettes. The maximum amount is 250 g per use.

Can I use this barbecue indoors?

No, strictly prohibited. Indoor use poses a deadly risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Only use it outdoors in a well-ventilated area.

How to clean the appliance?

Let the charcoal burn out completely and the appliance cool down. The grill plate, charcoal container, gel container, and juice collection tray are dishwasher safe or can be cleaned with soapy water. The main unit should be wiped with a soft cloth, never immerse it.

Can I move the barbecue during cooking?

No, it gets very hot. Never move it while it is operating or still hot. Wait until it has completely cooled down.

How to adjust the cooking temperature?

Turn the power knob to maximum (100%) to heat up quickly, then reduce it to between 25% and 50% to avoid overheating. You can adjust at any time.

What power supply is needed for the fan?

The fan operates with 4 AA batteries or an external battery connected via the Mini USB port. Remove the batteries if storing for extended periods.

How long does cooking last with one charcoal load?

With 250 g of charcoal, the runtime is approximately 30 to 45 minutes depending on the power used. You can add charcoal by lifting the plate with the tongs.

What to do in case of malfunction?

Contact Emerio after-sales service (details in the manual). The 2-year warranty covers manufacturing defects, but not damage due to improper use.

Where can I buy spare parts?

Contact the retailer or Emerio customer service. Parts such as the grill plate or charcoal container can be ordered separately, subject to availability.

1. WARNING! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move it during operation.
2. WARNING! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or relighting! Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3!
3. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.
4. WARNING! Keep children and pets away.
5. Do not use indoors!
6. Use charcoal, no briquettes.
7. Do not wash or soak the main body in water. It can cause serious damage to the product. Simply wipe the inside and outside of the main body to clean it.
8. Ensure the product is far from other sources of fire and pay close attention when lighting up the product.
9. Do not allow children to light it up.
10. Risks of burns and a fire while cooking.
11. Do not use the product on flammable surfaces or surfaces that can be damaged easily.
12. Not to be used in restricted areas.
13. Use the product on a flat place to prevent accidental drops or slip which may cause a fire.
14. Practice with caution when you move the product after the charcoal has been ignited. If the product is dropped, it may cause a fire or injury.
15. To extinguish a charcoal fire, do not pour water or any other form of liquid into the product, especially into the main body.

HOW TO USE

1. Power

a) Insert the batteries (AA x 4) into the battery compartment in the fan unit which can be taken out from the base.
b) Or connect a battery pack to the mini-USB interface

1. Place the oil collector in the main body.
2. Switch on the fan in the main body by turning the fire control switch clockwise to maximum.
3. Squeeze the ignition gel into the gel container (about 20ml per time) and light it. Caution! Do not spray lighting gel in the opening of the fan. This causes irreversible damage.
4. Use the gripper to place the charcoal container onto the fire in the gel container. (Put charcoal no more than 250g into the charcoal container for one time.)
5. Place the grill plate on the top. Spread a thin layer of oil on the grill plate before grilling. Turn the fire control switch back to 25% to 50% power after 3 minutes avoiding the grill plate to overheat. The appliance is ready to barbecue.

1. By lifting the grill plate with the gripper you can easily add charcoal. By putting power to 100% this heats up quickly and after it's hot, switch it back to 25-50%.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Let the charcoal burn up completely and allow the appliance to cool down before cleaning.
2. Grill plate, charcoal container, gel container and oil collector are dishwasher safe, or you can clean them with standard washing liquid. Rinse and dry thoroughly before use.
3. Wipe the interior and exterior of the main body with a soft cloth.
4. Never use abrasive cleaning agents or sharp objects (e.g. scrubbing brush or knife) for cleaning.
5. Remove batteries from the appliance during storage of a long period.
