How to connect the headphones?

Insert the cable's jack plug into the headphone jack on the left earpiece. Use the 4 m cable without remote for optimal audio quality, or the 1.4 m cable with remote for on-the-go use. Make sure the plug is fully inserted.

Which cable to use for better sound quality?

The straight 4 m cable without remote provides extreme respect for the audio signal and guarantees the best performance. It is recommended for critical listening.

How to clean the headphones?

Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe the headphones. Do not use solvents or harsh cleaning products. Avoid letting liquid penetrate the transducer openings.

Can I use these headphones while driving?

No, it is dangerous and illegal to drive a motor vehicle while wearing headphones. Do not use them with heavy machinery either.

What to do if I hear no sound?

Check that the jack plug is correctly inserted into the audio source and the headphones. If the problem persists, try the other supplied cable. On some phones, the cable with remote may not be compatible; use the cable without remote in that case.

What is the warranty on the headphones?

The warranty is 2 years from the date of purchase in France (non-transferable). In case of defect, contact your Focal retailer. Damage due to misuse is not covered.

How to adjust the volume correctly?

Set the volume on your device to minimum before plugging in the headphones. Then gradually increase to a moderate, comfortable level. Avoid listening above 85 dB for more than one hour to protect your hearing.

What to do if the diaphragm is damaged?

Avoid pressing on the earcups to prevent overpressure. If the diaphragm is damaged, contact your Focal retailer for repair. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Is the headphones compatible with my phone?

The cable with remote is compatible with many mobile phones, but not all. If you experience poor sound quality or no sound, use the cable without remote. The 3.5/6.35 mm jack adapter is included for larger jacks.

5) If you hear ringing or experience pain or discomfort in your ears during or after using any headphones audio product, that is a sign you are listening too loud. When your ears are exposed to high volumes (in excess of 85dB) for over an hour, you may be permanently damaging your hearing.
6) Turn down your listening device's volume to zero before you insert the headphones and turn on the device. Once you have the headphones in, gradually increase the volume to a comfortable, moderate volume.
7) NEVER operate a motor vehicle while listening to or wearing your headphone. Not only dangerous, it is illegal in many places.
8) NEVER operate heavy machinery while listening to or wearing your headphones.
9) We don't recommend you use the headphones while riding a bicycle, running, or walking in heavy traffic areas. If you do, listen at a lower volume so you can hear ambient noise.

All of the functions of the remote control or some of them are compatible with different models or brands of

current or coming mobile phones.

On some mobile phones, the cord is not compatible. It results in a bad quality sound or no sound at all. In that case, please use the removable cord without remote control.

- A 4m straight cable providing extremely faithful reproduction of the audio signal and optimal performance. We recommend using this cable.

Transport and handling of the headphones

The Focal headphones include high performance cones. They are made of mylar and titanium in highly reduced thicknesses in order to reproduce the most tiny details with the greatest dynamic. A bad use can damage and even break the cone. Please take care of it and avoid any falls or excessive pressures in the earpieces. Thus, your headphones will offer you performances all along its lifespan. In case of damage, please contact your local dealer to repair it.

Maintenance

Clean the headphones with a soft dry cloth.

Do not use cleaning agents containing solvents. Avoid the ingress of any liquid or foreign matter into the transducer openings.

Your distributor can provide all details concerning the conditions of guarantee. Guarantee cover extends at least to that granted by the legal guarantee in force in the country where the original purchase invoice was issued.
