How to choose the right speed for my mixture?

Use the speed guide provided with the appliance. Speeds 1-2 are for stirring and slow mixing, speeds 4-6 for beating and creaming, and speeds 8-10 for whipping and whisking egg whites. Do not exceed speed 2 for yeast doughs.

Can I use my stand mixer for kneading bread?

Yes, use the dough hook at speed 2. Do not exceed this speed to avoid damaging the appliance. The 2.8 L bowl can accommodate up to 500 g of flour.

How to clean the accessories and the bowl?

First unplug the appliance. The stainless steel bowl, flat beater, dough hook, flex edge beater, and pouring shield are dishwasher safe (top rack). The wire whip must be hand washed. Wipe the mixer body with a damp cloth.

Why is my mixer heating up during use?

It is normal for the top of the mixer to become warm during prolonged heavy mixing. If the appliance stops, let it cool for 30 minutes before using again. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

How to adjust the beater height relative to the bowl?

Tilt the motor head back and lock it. Turn the adjustment screw located under the head: counterclockwise to raise the beater, clockwise to lower it. Ensure the beater does not touch the bottom of the bowl.

What accessories can I use with this model?

This model is compatible with all KitchenAid accessories with a square-shaped attachment, such as the spiralizer, meat grinder, juicer, etc. They attach via the accessory hub at the front of the mixer.

My mixer won't start, what should I do?

First check that the appliance is plugged into a working outlet and the circuit breaker hasn't tripped. Turn off the mixer for 10-15 seconds then turn back on. If it still doesn't start, let it cool for 30 minutes. If nothing works, contact KitchenAid.

Why does my flat beater hit the bowl?

Immediately stop the mixer. Adjust the beater height as described in the manual: turn the adjustment screw clockwise to lower the beater (or vice versa). A 2-3 mm gap between the beater and the bowl is ideal.

How to use the pouring shield?

The pouring shield slides over the bowl from the front of the mixer. It allows adding ingredients without splashing. It is optional on some models and is dishwasher safe.

What is the warranty on this mixer?

The mixer is warranted for 1 year from the date of purchase. KitchenAid offers a hassle-free replacement (identical or comparable) or repair by an authorized center. Keep your proof of purchase.

Note: The speed control can be set to obtain speeds 1, 3, 5, 7, and 9 if a finer adjustment is required. Do not exceed Speed 2 when preparing yeast doughs as this may cause damage to the Stand Mixer.

Place the Bowl* on the Clamping Plate and twist to lock in place.

Slide and rotate the accessory aligning over the pin on the shaft.

Unlock the Motor Head and move it down. Then, lock** the head to keep it down. Before mixing, test lock by attempting to raise the Motor Head.

(OPTIONAL) To adjust Beater to Bowl Clearance: Tilt and lock** the Motor Head back. Turn the screw slightly counterclockwise (left) to raise the beater, or clockwise (right) to lower it.

NOTE: If you over-adjust the screw, the Bowl lock lever may not lock into place.

(OPTIONAL) Place the Pouring Shield: Slide the Pouring Shield from front of the Stand Mixer over the Vowl. The bottom rim of the Pouring Shield** fits inside of the Bowl.

Do not scrape the Bowl while operating. Scraping the Bowl once or twice during mixing is usually sufficient.

DISASSEMBLING THE PRODUCT

Turn the Stand Mixer "OFF/0" and unplug. Unlock and lift the Motor Head. Then, lock* the head to keep it lifted.

(OPTIONAL): Lift the front of the Pouring Shield clear of the rim of the Bowl*. Pull away from the Stand Mixer.

Press the accessory upward, turn it and pull it away from the Beater Shaft.

Twist to unlock the Bowl*** from the Clamping Plate.

Insert attachment into Attachment Hub, making certain that attachment power shaft fits into the square Attachment Hub socket.

Tighten the Attachment Knob by turning it clockwise until the attachment is secured to the Stand Mixer.

Unplug and turn the Stand Mixer "OFF/0".

Problem Solution
If Stand Mixer warms up during use:	Under heavy loads with extended mixing time periods, you may not be able to comfortably touch the top of the unit. This is normal.
If the Flat Beater hits the bowl:	Stop the Stand Mixer. See the "Product Assembly" section and adjust the Beater to Bowl Clearance.
The Speed Control Lever does not move smoothly or easily:	To move the Speed Control Lever with ease, lift slightly up as you move it across the settings in either direction.
If your Stand Mixer should fail to operate, please check the following:	Is the Stand Mixer plugged in?
	Is the fuse in the circuit to the Stand Mixer in working order? If you have a Circuit Breaker Box, be sure the circuit is closed.
	Turn off the Stand Mixer for 10-15 seconds, then turn it back on. If the Stand Mixer still does not start, allow it to cool for 30 minutes before turning it back on.

Note: If the problem cannot be corrected, See the "Warranty and Service" section. Do not return the Stand Mixer to the retailer; retailers do not provide service.
