- The following instructions apply to the PCE-U2-PX4 when used with a U.2 (4-lane PCIe) 2.5” NVMe SSD or HDD. The PCE-U2-PX4 can be combined with a U.2 to NVMe/SATA M.2 adapter, such as Tripp Lite’s P970-U2M2 (sold separately) to add support for M.2 modules.
- PCl Express cards are static-sensitive devices that require proper handling. An Anti-Static ESD Wrist Strap (such as Tripp Lite’s P999-000) or similar device should always be used when handling.
- Handle the card with care when installing. Hold it by the edges and not the PCle interface connectors.
- When disconnecting the drive, go through the proper disconnection steps of your operating system to safely remove it. Removing the drive prior to proper disconnection can result in losing or corrupting data stored on the drive.

1. Insert a 2.5” HDD/SSD drive (sold separately) into the 2.5”
SATA HDD/SSD adapter. Secure the drive into place using the provided SSD screws. Note:TheconnectorontheU.2SSDiskeyedsothedrivewillt only one way.6 Installation
2. Turn o the computer you are installing the PCle card in.
Unplug its power cord and disconnect all peripheral devices (monitor, keyboard, mouse, etc.) from it.
3. Remove the cover from your PC to locate the motherboard
and available PCl Express slots.
4. Locate an available PCl Express slot (if necessary, remove
the metal bracket from the back of the PC to allow for insertion of the card).
5. Gently connect the 7-pin SATA cable from PCl Express
Card to the motherboard on your PC.
6. Connect the PCl Express Card adapter to the PCle x4 slot
on the motherboard.7 Installation
7. Fix the full prole bracket to the tower rear panel of the PC
and screw tightly to secure connection.
8. If necessary, fasten the metal bracket to the back of the
computer using the included screws.
9. Place the cover back onto the computer and reconnect its
power cords and peripheral devices.

Installation Installing an M.2 M-Key or B-Key NVMe SSD Using a Tripp Lite P970-U2M2 U.2 to PCIe Adapter (Sold Separately) Refer to the instructions and diagrams in the P970-U2M2 Quick Start Guide to install an M.2 module in a computer’s PCIe port.9 Operation
1. After turning your computer back on, locate the
“Computer Management” system tool and go to the “Disk Management” dropdown menu to nd the new disk.

4. Follow the instructions on the screen, choosing the size of
partition, and click “Next” to nish.

Tripp Lite warrants its products to be free from defects in materials and workmanship for a period of one (1) year from the date of initial purchase. To obtain service under this warranty, you must obtain a Returned Material Authorization (RMA) number from Tripp Lite or an authorized Tripp Lite service center. Products must be returned to Tripp Lite or an authorized Tripp Lite service center with transportation charges prepaid and must be accompanied by a brief description of the problem encountered and proof of date and place of purchase. This warranty does not apply to equipment, which has been damaged by accident, negligence or misapplication or has been altered or modied in any way.
