How to clean the cooking plates?

Unplug and let the appliance cool down completely. Clean the plates with a damp sponge possibly soaked in a mild detergent, then dry with absorbent paper or a dry cloth. Never immerse the appliance or put it in the dishwasher.

Can I use the appliance without closing the locking clip?

Yes, if you have prepared thick croque-monsieur, you do not have to close the locking clip. The appliance works normally even without the clip closed.

What to do if the appliance smokes during first use?

A slight smoke emission is normal during first use. To minimize this, heat the appliance open for 10 minutes, then let it cool for about 1/2 hour before first cooking.

How to set the cooking time?

Use the « - » and « + » buttons to set the cooking time from 1 to 15 minutes. The countdown displays minutes then seconds during the last minute. You can add an extra 30 seconds with the « +30 sec » button.

How many croque-monsieur can I prepare at once?

The appliance can cook 4 croque-monsieur simultaneously, in the designated slots.

What does the green indicator mean?

The green indicator shows that the ideal cooking temperature has been reached and the appliance is ready. It also lights up during cooking when the thermostat maintains the temperature.

How to stop the appliance?

Press the on/off button then unplug the power cord. The appliance automatically enters standby after 20 minutes of inactivity.

* Place your appliance as far as possible from flammable objects (curtains, etc.).

INSTALLATION AND USE

FIRST USE

* Ensure that you carefully remove all the protective elements when unpacking your appliance.
* Place your appliance on a flat surface.
* We advise cleaning the plates before using them for the first time. Use a little hot water and a sponge. Dry thoroughly.
* A new appliance may smoke a little when used for the first time. To reduce this phenomenon, proceed in the following manner: heat up the appliance with the lid open for 10 minutes, then let it cool for around 30 minutes.

DAILY OPERATIONS

* Fully unwind the cord.
* Plug in the appliance, with the lid closed. The red light comes on when you switch the appliance on using the on/off button.
* When the ideal cooking temperature is reached, the green light comes on and a sound signal will alert you to this. You can begin cooking after greasing the plates. Place your toasted sandwiches in the moulds intended for them (4 sandwiches at a time) and choose the desired cooking time by pressing the "-" or "+" buttons. You can add up to 15 minutes of cooking time. The time is counted in minutes. During the final minute, the time is counted in seconds.
* Close the appliance by pressing down the cover until you can close the locking clip and press the on / off button.

* If you want to add cooking time at the end of the set time, you can press the "+30 sec". You now have an additional 30 seconds to cook your toasted sandwich.
* When the lights go out, remove your toasted sandwiches using a wooden spatula.
* Depending on your preference, you do not have to take the green light into account and can judge whether your toasted sandwiches are cooked by opening the appliance.

AFTER USE

* When you are finished using the appliance, press stop and unplug the power cord.

MAINTENANCE

* Never immerse the appliance in water. Always unplug it and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
* Cooking plates: Clean them with a damp sponge, perhaps containing a light detergent product and dry using absorbent kitchen paper or a dry cloth.
* Do not use scouring pads as they may scratch the non-stick surface.
* Outer casing: if necessary, use a damp sponge with a small amount of detergent and wipe dry using a soft cloth.

RECIPES AND TIPS

Toasted sandwiches cook very quickly, so we advise you to prepare all the ingredients before heating up your Croq'y® 4. Fill your toasted sandwiches and put them on a plate.

Remember to lightly butter the two outside faces of the toasted sandwich before cooking. Do this for all the recipes (optional).

The chef's secret: when you place a slice of ham on the toast, first cut it into several pieces. This makes it easy to enjoy!

COUNTRY TOASTED SANDWICH

The ingredients: 2 spoons of mustard, 1 sliced tomato, 2 thin slices of bacon.

Spread the mustard on the inside faces of the bread, lay the slices of tomato on one side and top with a thin slice of bacon after previously frying it in a pan. Cover with the second slice of bread and cook.

CHICKEN TOASTED SANDWICH

The ingredients: 100 gr of grated Swiss cheese, 100 gr of chopped white chicken or turkey.

Dress one slice of bread with the grated cheese. Place the chopped poultry on top of the cheese, cover with more cheese, add the second slice of bread and cook.

GOAT'S CHEESE TOASTED SANDWICH

The ingredients: 100 gr of ham, 1 crottin de Chavignol goat's cheese.

Cover one slice of bread with thin slices of cheese, place a slice of ham cut to fit the shape of the bread on top, add more slices of cheese, cover with the second slice of bread and cook.

DESSERT TOASTED SANDWICH

The ingredients: a few squares of chocolate, 1 slice of pineapple.

Cover one slice of bread with the squares of dark chocolate, add a slice of pineapple, cover with the second slice of bread and cook.

THIS WARRANTY ONLY APPLIES TO DOMESTIC USE AND UNDER NO CIRCUMSTANCES DOES IT COVER PROFESSIONAL OR SEMI PROFESSIONAL USE.

The retailer's obligation to offer a legal warranty in no way excludes the manufacturer's legal obligation to cover flaws or hidden defects in accordance with articles 1641 to 1649 of the Civil Code of France. In the event of a breakdown or malfunction, please contact your retailer.

In the event of a technical defect in the 8 days following your purchase, appliances will be exchanged.

After this period, they are repaired by the LAGRANGE after-sales service.

In order to benefit from the guarantee, the user must present a copy of the invoice specifying the date on which the appliance was purchased.

Duration of availability of spare parts

In accordance with article L 111-2 of the Consumer Code, we plan for spare parts to be available for a product that can be repaired for a period of 5 years following its manufacturing date.

However, this availability is only guaranteed in the country in which the product was purchased.

Shipping costs for returns

After the first year which benefits from the distributor guarantee, you only have to bear the costs of returning the product to the factory. The cost of re-shipping will be covered by us within the shortest possible time frame.
