Before first use
-
Remove all packaging material and any protective film used to secure it during transport. Never remove the type plate or any warnings.
-
The device may have production residues stuck to it. To avoid health problems, clean the device before first use:
-
Wipe the device with a clean, damp cloth.
-
Wipe the grill plate with a soft, damp cloth/sponge and, if necessary, a small amount of detergent. Dry thoroughly.
-
Before using for the first time, we recommend heating the device once for a few minutes to remove any production residues from the grill plate. Follow the instructions in the chapters "Setting up the device" and "Using".

During initial startup, production-related additives (e.g. grease) can lead to slight smoke and/or odour development. This is normal and not a defect of the device.
- Clean the device again (see the "Cleaning and storage" chapter).
Setting up the device

-
Do not put the device under kitchen cabinets or similar. These may be damaged due to rising steam!
The device may only be operated in a horizontal position, never on its side or standing upright.
The surfaces of furniture may contain components that can damage and soften the feet of the device. If necessary, place a suitable base under the feet. -
Place the device with a free space to the sides (at least 20~cm ) and above (at least 30~cm ) on a flat, firm, heat-resistant surface that is not sensitive to grease splashes.

- Insert the drip tray (2) into the frame (3).

- Insert the grill plate (8) into the frame. Make sure that the underside of the thermostat socket (7) is placed on the thermostat holder (6). Check the tightness of the grill plate.

- Insert the thermostat (4) into the thermostat socket.
To disassemble the device, carry out the same steps in reverse order.
Usage

Beware of burns! Do not place any metal objects on or in the device. These can get very hot.
- Never use the device without the drip tray. Ensure that it is correctly inserted (see "Assembly") before the device is put into operation.

Although the grill plate has a non-stick coating, we recommend gently greasing it before using it for the first time. Do not use cooking spray, as this can damage the non-stick coating!
Line the drip tray (2) with aluminium foil before use to make subsequent cleaning easier.
- Prepare the food as desired. A few recipesuggestions can be found later on in this guide.

- Turn the thermostat knob (10) to 0.
- Connect the plug to an easily accessible socket.
- Set the desired temperature level with the thermostat knob: Turn the temperature level number to the warning light (9). There are 5 temperature levels:
| Level 1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 |
| Temp. approx. | 100°C | 120°C | 170°C | 185°C |
- Allow the device to heat up. During heating, the warning light comes on.
- If the warning light has gone out, place the food to be grilled on the grill plate (8).
- After a while, turn the food over. When it has been sufficiently cooked and has reached the desired colour, remove from the grill plate.
- Switch off the device after use (set the thermostat knob to position 0) and remove the mains plug from the socket.
Cleaning and storage

The device and the grill plate are not dishwasher safe!
- Do not use corrosive or abrasive cleaners, cleansing sprays or rough sponges or knives for cleaning. These can damage the surface.
- Make sure that the device is completely cooled and disconnected from the power supply!

- Clean the drip tray and frame (3) with warm water and some detergent if necessary.
- Dry all parts thoroughly before reassembling and storing.
- Check the connecting cable regularly for damage. Never wrap it tightly around the device (risk of cable breakage).
- Store the device in a dry, clean, frost-free place away from direct sunlight and keep out of reach of children and animals.
