How to activate Hill Start Control?

To activate the Hill Start Control, press the dedicated button on the left handlebar switch when the motorcycle is stationary and the engine is running. The green indicator lights up. To deactivate, fold out the side stand or turn off the engine.

What to do if the ABS warning light stays on?

If the ABS warning light stays on after starting, the self-diagnosis is not complete. Ride at a speed above 5 km/h to finalize it. If the light persists, the ABS may be faulty; consult a BMW workshop.

How to pair my smartphone via Bluetooth?

From the TFT screen, go to the Bluetooth menu and activate search. On your smartphone, select 'BMW S 1000 XR' from the list. Confirm the six-digit code displayed on the motorcycle screen.

Which fuel to use?

Recommended: Super Plus Unleaded (RON 98) with max 5% ethanol. Alternative: Super Unleaded (RON 95, E10) with slight power loss.

How to adjust spring preload?

The electronic chassis adjustment (D-ESA) automatically adjusts the preload according to load. In Auto mode, preload is adjusted via the left handlebar switch. For manual adjustment, use the knob on the rear shock absorber.

What does the flashing red tire pressure warning light mean?

A red flashing indicates a rapid pressure loss or pressure outside tolerance. Stop immediately, check and correct the pressure. If the problem persists, have the tires checked.

How to make a manual emergency call?

Press the SOS button on the right handlebar switch (if equipped). A countdown is displayed. You can cancel within this time. Once the connection is established, speak to the call center via the built-in microphone.

What is the break-in procedure?

During the first 1,000 kilometers, do not exceed 5,000 rpm and vary the engine speed. Avoid full throttle and hard braking. Have the break-in inspection carried out at a BMW dealer.

How to change the battery of the Keyless Ride remote?

Open the housing by pressing the button, push the battery cover upward. Replace the battery with a CR 2032 observing polarity. Close the cover; the red LED flashes to confirm.

Where is the OBD diagnostic socket located?

The diagnostic socket is located under the seat, next to the battery. It allows workshops to read vehicle data and perform tests.
