Frequently Asked Questions - U444CATH Tripp Lite

What is the maximum transmission distance?
The maximum distance is 45 m (150 ft) with a 24 AWG solid wire Cat6 cable (like Tripp Lite's N202 series).
Can I use a Cat5e cable instead of Cat6?
To achieve maximum distance and resolution, it is recommended to use a 24 AWG solid wire Cat6 cable. Using Cat5e may reduce distance or quality.
How to adjust video quality?
Use the built-in equalizer (EQ) located on the receiver. It offers 8 levels of adjustment. Adjust until you get an acceptable picture. Incorrect adjustment may cause no image.
What to do if the LED does not light up?
If the LED does not light up after installation, additional power is required. Connect a USB Micro-B cable (not included) to the USB Micro-B port of the receiver.
Can I use a local display in addition to the remote display?
Yes, the transmitter has a local HDMI output. You can connect an HDMI monitor to it to see the image displayed remotely.
How to charge my USB-C device through this device?
The transmitter has a USB-C port that can charge the source device. Connect the source's provided power adapter to this port to avoid battery drain.
What resolutions and refresh rates are supported?
The maximum resolution is 1920 x 1080 at 60 Hz (1080p). HDMI 1.4 and HDCP 1.4 standards are supported.
Is it compatible with all USB-C laptops?
The device is designed for USB Type-C sources that support HDMI video output. Check your laptop's specifications. It is also HDCP 1.4 compliant.
How to install the kit?
1. Connect the receiver to the HDMI display. 2. Connect the transmitter and receiver with a Cat6 cable. 3. Connect the transmitter to the USB-C source. 4. (Optional) Connect a local monitor and/or USB-C power. 5. Adjust the equalizer if necessary.
