USER MANUAL CLS0301W Carmen
- Only use this appliance for the purposes described in the instruction manual.
- When you give this item to someone else, please pass on this instruction manual as well.
- Check the appliance prior to each use. Do not use the appliance when there are signs of wear or when the appliance has been dropped.
- Check that the components are properly attached prior to each use.
- Remove the battery from the appliance before you change components or disassemble the appliance.
- Never repair a fault yourself.
- Only original parts should be used.
Avoid contact with the razor blades.
- Never submerge the appliance in water or other liquids.
- Do not touch the device with wet hands, this could lead to an electric shock!
- Protect the appliance against moisture, store the appliance in a safe and dry place. Safety instructions 13 • EN• The appliance may become hot during use, use the appliance for a maximum period of 30 minutes at one time and allow it to cool down for at least 30 minutes afterwards.
- Do not leave the appliance unsupervised if the appliance is operational.
- Do not place the appliance on top of anything while it is operational.
- Never place the appliance near heat sources such as ovens, hotplates, open re, etc.
- If the appliance is not being used, switch it o completely.
- Keep the appliance out of reach of children. Children do not see the dangers associated with handling appliances. Therefore, never allow children to operate appliances without supervision. Keep the appliance out of reach of children younger than 8 years of age.
- The appliance can be used by children of 8 years and older and by persons with limited physical, sensory or mental capacities or lack of experience or knowledge, provided they use the appliance under supervision or have been instructed about its safe use and understand the hazards it may involve.
- Children must not play with the appliance. 14 • EN• The appliance must not be cleaned or maintained by children, unless this is done under supervision.
- Extra attention is required when the appliance is used near ears, eyes and face.
- This appliance is exclusively intended for trimming and shaving human hair.
- Leaking batteries could damage your appliance. If you do not want to use the appliance for a longer period of time, you must remove the battery.
- When a battery has leaked, you should use gloves to remove the battery. Clean the battery compartment with a dry cloth. Dispose of the batteries by bringing them to the waste processing department concerned of your municipality.
- Hazard of explosion! Do not throw the batteries into re.
- If the appliance is not used as intended, no compensation can be claimed in case of defects or accidents and the warranty will be invalidated.

9Before using the appliance for the rst time, proceed as follows: Carefully unpack the appliance and remove all packaging material. Keep the packaging (plastic bags and cardboard) out of reach of children. After unpacking the appliance, carefully check it for external damage that may have occurred during transport. Placing the battery
1. Turn the underside of the appliance to position:
The underside comes loose and can now be removed.
2. Place the battery in the appliance, as indicated on the battery holder.
3. Slide the underside of the appliance back over the battery and turn it in order to close it:
The battery needs replacement when the trimmer starts making less noise during use. Extra instructions for use Important!:
- Always look in a mirror when using the appliance for your face.
- Always place back the protective covers on the accessories when you are not using them.
- During use, do not press the appliance too hard against the skin, this could lead to irritation of the skin and damage to the appliance.
- After shaving your skin could be sensitive, we recommend trying any moisturiser on a small area rst to test whether the skin will become irritated.
- Make sure the appliance does not come into contact with clothes or other objects, as this could lead to injury and aect the ecient operation of the appliance. Prior to rst use 18 • ENChanging accessories
1. Always rst check that the appliance has been switched o and that the battery has been removed from the appliance.
2. Disconnect the accessory from the appliance by turning it to position:

Switching on/o Before switching on the appliance, check that the accessory is placed correctly on the appliance and remove any protective cover from the accessory. Using the razor head
1. Place the razor head on the appliance, as indicated in section Changing accessories.
2. Remove the protective cover from the razor head and switch on the appliance.
3. Carefully move the razor head over the skin, in the opposite direction to the hair growth.
4. If necessary, use your free hand to pull the skin taut and move the razor head in vertical direction over the area to be shaved.
5. Switch o the appliance once you are nished shaving and place the protective cover back on the razor head.
19 • ENUsing the eyebrow trimmer The eyebrow trimmer has a razor blade on 2 sides, a 17 mm long blade for trimming body hair and a 6 mm short blade that is ideal for precision trimming. The provided attachable comb also has 2 sides, the longer teeth for trimming at a length of 6 mm and the shorter teeth for a length of 3 mm. The trim length is indicated on the top side of the comb. Select the required options on the basis of the area to be trimmed and the required result. For trimming eyebrows, proceed as follows:
1. Place the eyebrow trimmer on the appliance, as indicated in section Changing accessories.
2. Remove the protective cover from the eyebrow trimmer and place the attachable comb on the eyebrow trimmer.
3. Switch on the appliance.
4. Carefully move the eyebrow trimmer with comb over the eyebrow, in the opposite direction to the hair growth.
5. Switch o the appliance once you are nished shaving, remove the comb and place the protective cover back on the eyebrow trimmer. For rening the shape of the eyebrows, proceed as follows:
1. Place the eyebrow trimmer on the appliance, as indicated in section Changing accessories.
2. Remove the protective cover from the eyebrow trimmer and switch on the appliance.
3. Carefully move the eyebrow trimmer with the required razor blade along the outer edge of the eyebrow. Move both in the direction of the hair growth and in the opposite direction to the hair growth. This allows you to shave the eyebrow in the correct shape with precision.
4. Switch o the appliance once you are nished shaving and place the protective cover back on the eyebrow trimmer.
20 • ENUsing the precision trimmer
1. Place the precision trimmer on the appliance, as indicated in section Changing accessories.
2. In order to shave o hair without completely removing it, attach the attachable comb to the precision trimmer. This is done by rst placing the top side of the precision trimmer in the comb and then snapping the comb on the trimmer.
3. Switch on the appliance.
4. Carefully and evenly move the razor head over the skin, in the opposite direction to the hair growth.
5. Switch o the appliance once you are nished shaving and place the comb on the razor head, it also serves as protective cover. Cleaning and maintenance Clean the appliance after each use. This is not only benecial for the life span of the appliance, it also ensures a better function of the appliance. Cleaning should involve the following:
- Check that the appliance has been switched o and that the battery has been removed from the appliance.
- Remove the accessories from the appliance, leave the underside of the appliance connected.
- Brush clean the accessories and the appliance with the supplied cleaning brush. Note that you can loosen the top side of the razor head by turning it to position . In this way you can also clean the interior of the razor head. When placing back the top side, make sure the triangles are pointing to each other and then fasten the top side by turning it to position
- Clean the separate accessories (not the appliance itself) under running water.
- Clean the exterior of the appliance by wiping it clean with a soft cloth.
- Allow all accessories to dry properly before they are attached to the appliance again. 21 • ENAttention:
- Never use abrasives, alcohol, solvents or other cleaning agents when cleaning.
