SAFETY WARNINGS WARNING Read and understand all instructions. Failure to follow all instructions listed below, may result in electric shock, re and/or serious personal injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. Save these instructions - This operator's manual contains important safety and operating instructions. WARNING
- Do not attempt to make measurement in the presence of ammable gases. Otherwise, the use of the instrument may cause sparking, which can lead to an explosion.
- Never attempt to use the instrument if its surface or your hand is wet.
- This instrument is to be used only in its in- tended applications or conditions. Otherwise, the instrument's safety functions may not work, resulting in serious personal injury and instru- ment damage.
- Never attempt to make measurement if any ab- normal conditions, such as broken case and ex- posed metal parts are found on the instrument.
- Comply with local and national safety require- ments when working in hazardous locations.
- Verify proper operation on a known source before use or taking action as a result of the indication of the instrument. Never assume tool is working.
- Do not install substitute parts or make any modi- cation to the instrument. For repair, return the tool to a factory Service/Sales Support Branch or authorized service station.
- Do not try to replace the batteries if the surface of the instrument is wet.
- Properly dispose of used batteries.
- Do not incinerate or dismantle batteries.
- Under abusive conditions, liquid may be ejected from the battery, avoid contact. If contact ac- cidentally occurs, flush with water. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause ir- ritation or burns. CAUTION
- Do not expose the instrument to the direct sun, high temperature and humidity or dew fall.
- Altitude 2000m or less. Appropriate operating temperature is within 0ºC and 50ºC.
- Keep away from excess dust and water.
- Be sure to power o the instrument after use. When the instrument will not be in use for a long period, place it in storage after removing the batteries.
- Use of controls or adjustments or performance of procedures other than those specified herein may result in hazardous radiation exposure.
- Use a damp cloth or neutral detergent for clean- ing the instrument. Do not use abrasives or solvents. LASER SAFETY WARNING
- The device produces visible laser beams, which are emitted from the tool.
- This device complies with 21 CFR 1040.10 and 1040.11 except for conformance with IEC 60825-1 Ed. 3., as described in Laser Notice No. 56, dated May 8, 2019.
- Laser light - Do not stare into beam or view directly with optical instruments. Do not point laser light at others. Laser light can cause eye damage.
- Do not point laser at reective surfaces. Unpre- dictable results may occur.
- To reduce the risk of injury or temporary eects on vision, do not look directly into the laser when it is on.
- Ensure adequate safeguards at the work site (e.g. surveying site when measuring on roads, construction sites, etc.).
- Keep children and bystanders away wile operat- ing Temp-Gun™. Store idle Temp-Guns™ out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the tool or these instructions to operate them.
- Avoid dangerous environments. Do not use in rain, snow, damp or wet locations. Do not use in the presence of explosive atmospheres (gaseous fumes, dust or ammable materials). PERSONAL SAFETY
- Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating Temp-Gun™. Do not use while you are tired or under the inu- ence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention may result in serious personal injury.
- Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and bal- ance at all times. This enables better control in unexpected situations.
BATTERY USE AND CARE
- This tool is designed to be powered by one (1) 9V battery properly inserted into the MILWAUKEE Temp-Gun™. Do not attempt to use with any other voltage or power supply.
- Do not leave battery within the reach of children.
- Install battery according to polarity (+ / –) diagrams.
- Properly dispose of used batteries immediately.
- Do not incinerate or dismantle batteries.

- Have your Temp-Gun™ serviced by a qualied repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the tool is maintained.
- Do not disassemble. Incorrect reassembly may result in the risk of electric shock or re. If it is dam- aged, take it to a MILWAUKEE service facility.
- Store in a cool, dry place. Do not store where temperatures may exceed 140°F (60°C) such as in direct sunlight, a vehicle or metal building during the summer.
- Do not remove or deface labels. Maintain labels and nameplates. These carry important information. If unreadable or missing, contact a MILWAUKEE service facility for a replacement. 1. Using a at screwdriver,
rotate the battery door lock to the unlocked position and open the battery door.
2. Connect one (1) 9V battery
to the connector block. Fit the battery into the com- partment.
3. Close the battery door.
Turn the battery door lock to the locked position. Selecting Celsius or Fahrenheit To set the temperature scale, pull the trigger and then press the SET button three times. Press the buttons above the up and down arrows to toggle between °C and °F. Wait 5 seconds for the setting to save and exit. Setting the Laser To turn the laser on and o, pull the trigger and then press the SET button four times. Press the buttons above the up and down arrows to toggle between ON and OFF. Wait 5 seconds for the setting to save and exit. OPERATION Scanning Object Temperature
1. Pull and hold the trigger for at least 2 seconds
and scan the surface temperature of an object. A laser pointer is used for aiming on the area being scanned. NOTE: The object should be larger than the spot being scanned. If not, readings will be aected. See Dis- tance To Spot for necessary object size.
2. As you continue to hold the trigger,
the icon is displayed along with the primary measurement (surface temperature) and secondary mea- surement (maximum, minimum, average, or dierential tempera- ture) readings.
3. Release the trigger. HOLD is
displayed until the screen shuts o in about ten seconds. Setting the Trigger Lock To turn the trigger lock on and o, pull the trigger and then press the SET button ve times. Press the buttons above the up and down arrows to toggle between ON and OFF. Wait 5 seconds for the setting to save and exit. Temperature Alarm Press the ALARM button to turn on the alarm function. The bell icon is displayed. If the temperature reading is outside the preset range, the tem- perature reading will ash. FUNCTIONAL DESCRIPTION

Setting Preset Range for the Alarm
1. To set the alarm range, pull the
trigger and then press the SET button. Repeat to toggle between HI and LO settings.
2. Press the up or down arrow soft
keys to toggle between tempera- tures. Wait 5 seconds for the ranges to save and exit. Low Battery When the Low Battery icon is dis- played, change the battery. Mode Description MAX Displays maximum temperature measured during a continuous reading MIN Displays minimum temperature measured during a continuous reading AVG Displays average temperature of last 20 measurements during a continuous reading DIF Displays the dierence between MAX and MIN during a continuous reading MAINTENANCE WARNING To reduce the risk of injury, always remove the batteries from the tool before performing any maintenance. Never disas- semble the tool. Contact a MILWAUKEE service facility for ALL repairs. Maintaining Tool Keep your tool in good repair by adopting a regular maintenance program. After one year, it is recom- mended to return the tool to a MILWAUKEE service facility for calibration. If the tool does not start or operate at full power with fully charged batteries, clean the contacts on the bat- tery door. If the tool still does not work properly, return the tool to a MILWAUKEE service facility for repair. WARNING To reduce the risk of personal in- jury and damage, never immerse your tool in liquid or allow a liquid to ow inside them. Cleaning Clean dust and debris from any vents. Keep tool clean, dry and free of oil or grease. Use only mild soap and a damp cloth to clean, since certain clean- ing agents and solvents are harmful to plastics and other insulated parts. Some of these include gasoline, turpentine, lacquer thinner, paint thinner, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia and household deter- gents containing ammonia. Never use ammable or combustible solvents around tools. Cleaning the Lense Blow off loose particles with clean compressed air. Carefully wipe the surface with a cotton swab moistened with water. Using a second cotton swab, dry completely. Repairs For repairs, return the tool, battery pack and charger to the nearest authorized service center. ACCESSORIES WARNING Use tools only with specifically designated accessories. Use of any other accessories may create risk of injury.
