How to use the AKC200 food processor?

Place the blade(s) on the bowl shaft, add the ingredients, put on the splash-proof lid, place the motor unit and turn to lock. Plug in the appliance and press the pulse switch until desired result. Do not exceed 15 seconds of continuous use.

Can I chop ice cubes or very hard foods?

No, it is not recommended to chop very hard ingredients such as coffee beans, nutmeg or ice cubes. This could damage the blades or the appliance.

How to clean the appliance?

Clean the motor unit with a damp cloth and a little mild detergent. Never immerse the motor unit. The bowl, lid and blades can be washed in soapy water or in the dishwasher (top rack). Dry all parts thoroughly.

Are the bowl and blades dishwasher safe?

Yes, the blades and bowl are dishwasher safe. Place them in the top rack to avoid damage.

Why does the appliance not start?

The appliance has a safety system: it only works if the bowl is correctly installed and the motor unit is properly locked. Check that everything is in place and that the plug is connected.

What is the maximum capacity of the bowl?

The maximum capacity is 500 ml. Do not fill beyond the mark on the bowl to avoid overflow.

Can I use the appliance for more than 15 seconds?

No, never use the appliance for more than 15 seconds continuously. Then wait 15 seconds before using again to avoid overheating.

How to change the blade?

Remove the motor unit and lid, then unscrew or carefully remove the blade from the shaft. Handle with caution as the blades are very sharp. You can use the second blade provided.

What to do if food sticks to the blades or bowl?

Turn off and unplug the appliance. Remove the lid and dislodge food with a rubber spatula or rinse with warm water. Never put fingers inside the bowl.

What is the warranty period?

The warranty is 60 months (5 years) from the date of purchase, covering manufacturing and operational defects. Keep the proof of purchase and contact the seller or Bestron service for any claim.

Congratulations with the purchase of this Bestron product. These instructions tell you how the product works and how to use it. Read the instructions carefully before you start using the appliance. Only use the appliance in the manner described in the instructions. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.

Defects:

If the appliance is defective, do not try to repair it yourself. Always have a qualified mechanic carry out any repairs.

Children:

• This device may not be used by children and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and know-how.
  • Children are not allowed to clean or maintain the appliance.
• Keep the appliance and the cable out of reach of children.
• Keep an eye on children to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

• Check that the mains voltage corresponds with that shown on the rating plate of an electrical appliance before you use it.
• Check that the socket to which you connect the electrical appliance is earthed.
  • Always install electrical appliances on a stable and level surface where it cannot fall over.
• Certain parts of an electrical appliance may become warm or sometimes hot. Do not touch them as you may burn yourself.
  • Make sure your hands are dry when you touch an electrical appliance, a cord or a plug.
• Electrical appliances must be able to lose their heat to avoid fire hazards. Therefore, make sure that the appliance has sufficient clearance around it and that it does not come into contact with flammable materials. Electrical appliances must never be covered.

- Never let cords hang over the edge of the sink, a worktop or a table.
• Always remove plug from the socket when you are not using the electrical appliance.
- Remove the plug from the socket by pulling the plug itself and not the cord.
- Regularly check if the cord of the electrical appliance is not damaged. Do not use the electrical appliance if the cord shows signs of damage. If the cord is damaged, it should be replaced by the manufacturer, a technical service provider or a person with an equivalent qualification, to avoid any danger.
- The appliance may not be switched on with the aid of an external time switch, or by a separate system with remote control.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS APPLIANCE

• Be careful when using the appliance outdoors.
• Never use the appliance in damp or wet locations.
• Thoroughly clean the appliance after use (see Cleaning and Maintenance).
• When filling the bowl, take the maximum content into account. The level may not exceed the "500 ml" mark on the bowl.
• Never use the chopper for longer than 15 seconds. Then wait 15 seconds before switching the device on again.
  • Take care with the stainless steel blade. Sharp edges could cause injury.
• Never insert your hands in the mixing bowl. You could cut yourself on the sharp blade located in the bottom of the bowl.
• Never use the appliance with boiling liquids.
• Do not switch on the appliance while it is empty.

ENVIRONMENT

- Dispose of packaging material such as plastic and cardboard boxes in the designated containers.

Do not dispose of this product as normal domestic waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at a collection point for the reuse of electric and electronic equipment. Look for the symbol on the product, the user instructions or the packaging showing the type of waste.

- The materials can be used as indicated. By helping us reuse and process the materials or otherwise recycle the old equipment, you will be making an important contribution towards the protection of the environment.

OPERATION - General

The mixer is intended only for domestic use, not for professional use.

OPERATION - Using for the first time

1. Take the appliance out of the packaging including the plastic protection of the stainless steel blades.
2. Clean the appliance (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').

OPERATION

1. Fit the stainless steel blade (4,5) to the separate drive shaft (7) of the bowl (6).
2. Add all ingredients.
3. Fit the anti-splash lid (3) to the bowl.
4. Fit the motor unit (2) to the anti-splash lid and rotate until the it falls into the recesses of the anti-splash lid.
5. Connect the appliance (9) to the wall socket.
6. Press the pulse button (1) shortly, repeat this until you have the result you would like to have.

ATTENTION:

• The chopper is fitted with a safeguard: the appliance won't work without the anti-splash lid.
• Never use the device for longer than 15 seconds. Then wait 15 seconds before turning on the device again.

TIPS

• Optionally add the second stainless steel chopping knife for a fine result.
  • The pulse switch only works if you hold the switch in this position.
• Cut the ingredients into small pieces before filling the bowl.
• Do not chop hard ingredients, such as coffee beans, nutmeg and ice cubes.
  • If the ingredients stick to the knife or inside the work bowl, turn the machine off and remove the lid.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Fill the bowl with warm water and fit the blade, anti-splash lid and motor unit.
2. Press the pulse button shortly
3. Clean the motor unit with a damp cloth, if necessary moistened with a couple of drops of washing-up liquid. After cleaning, dry the motor unit thoroughly.
4. Store the mixer.

TIPS

• The chopping knives and bowl are dishwasher-safe, these parts must be placed at the top of the dishwasher be placed.
• Rinse all parts thoroughly to remove all soap residues and dry them thoroughly.
• Clean the bowl after each use.
• Some foods, such as beetroot and carrots, can cause discoloration of the plastic parts of the appliance. Clean these parts with cooking oil.
• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to clean the appliance.
• Do not immerse the motor unit in water, or in other liquids.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

Bestron offers a 60-month warranty on this equipment against defects resulting from manufacturing and/or material errors, subject to the following conditions.

1. No labour or material costs will be charged during this warranty period.

2. Any repairs carried out under the warranty will not extend the warranty period.

3. Faulty parts, or in the event of exchange, the faulty equipment itself, will automatically become the property of Bestron.

4. The warranty is valid for the first buyer only and is non-transferable.

5. The warranty is not valid for damage caused by:

- Accidents

- Improper use

- Wear and tear

- Neglect

- Faulty installation

- Connection to a different mains voltage than indicated on the type plate

• Unauthorised changes

• Repairs carried out by unqualified third parties

- Use in violation with the applicable statutory, technical or safety standards

- Careless transport without suitable packaging or other protection

1. Warranty cannot be claimed:

- For damage during transport

- If the serial number of the appliance is removed or changed

- Cords

- Glass parts

1. The warranty does not entitle the purchaser to compensation for any damage other than replacement or repair of the faulty parts. Bestron cannot in any event be held liable for any indirect or consequential losses caused by or in relation to the equipment it has provided.

2. Claims under a warranty may only be submitted to your (online) retailer or directly to the Bestron Service Department. Never send items without being asked to. We may refuse the parcel and you will be liable for the costs. Contact us first and we tell you how the appliance should be packaged and sent. Each claim under a warranty must be accompanied by the relevant receipt.
