Personal breathalyzer AD-05 is a mobile device for testing alcohol content from a breath sample. The product has been equipped with an electrochemical sensor which estimates blood alcohol content in a few seconds!
Description:
- Mouthpiece opening
- LCD display
- Options select key
- On/off key
1. USE
NOTE!
- Before you use the device, wait for at least 15 minutes after drinking alcohol or smoking cigarettes.
- Before use, rinse your mouth with water.
-
It is necessary that you wait for 15 minutes. If you fail to follow this rule, the test results may not be reliable. The readout value „will rise” fast and then gradually „drop”. This results from stubborn alcohol remains in the oral cavity which distort values measured.
-
It is advisable to take a breath test at the room temperature in order to assure optimal accuracy.
- It is also advisable to store the device at the room temperature (when the device is not used for a long time) to keep the sensor in a proper condition.
- Do not use and do not store the device at extreme temperatures and in highly humid conditions.
- To use the device, gently press and slip off the battery cover. Put two AAA 1.5V alkaline batteries in and close the battery cover. Using non-alkaline batteries may result in imprecise results
HOW TO USE:
- Put the mouthpiece in the opening on the left side of the device. It is recommended to change the mouthpiece after every use.
- Switching ON: press on/off key (4) and hold for 2 seconds to switch the device on. The device initiates the sensor heating procedure. The second hand starts counting. _20
Alcohol content from breath sample is now taken:
- Preparing: when counting is over, you will see a flashing „rdy” (ready) which means the device is now ready to collect the sample of breath.
**UThe device will wait for 8 seconds for the sample of breath. If it is not detected, the device will show zero - 0.00. - Blowing: blow continuously into the mouthpiece. A long „beep” sound suggests that the device collects the air. Keep on blowing until you can hear a loud sound in the form of a „double beep”. At this point you have to stop blowing in.
- The device starts analyzing the breath and shows " (calculating).
- Wait for a while to see the result in ‰ on the display.
- Switching off : press on/off key (4) and hold for 2 seconds to switch the device off.
IMPORTANT!
- The test result will be set and displayed in per mil ( % ). If you wish to change the alcohol level display format, press the options select key (3) to switch into the desired format.
- The device may emit a long sound when taking the breath sample and give 0.00. This happens because it is possible to measure a very low content of other substance in your breath (e.g. bad smell). By default, if the device detects no alcohol content, it will emit a long sound and the result will be 0.00.
- In some cases the device may display “☐☐☐”. It happens when the conditions of the test are too cold or too hot. Before you retake the test, wait for a dozen minutes until the sensor inside the device reaches the room temperature.
- The device will switch off automatically after 30 seconds. You can also switch the breathalyzer off by pressing on/off key (4) and holding for 3 seconds.
RECOMMENDED WAITING TIME BETWEEN TESTS
- It is advisable to wait for a few minutes (3-5 minutes) between every breath test (for low alcohol level).
- With regard to high alcohol level, please wait for at least 10 minutes before you retake the test. This way you let stubborn alcohol remains disappear from the sensor. This is also how you can help keep the proper condition of the sensor and maintain test result reliability.
2. TEST MEMORY MODE:
To check the total number of breathalyzer tests, please follow the description below:
- When counting, press on/off key (4) to display the total number of tests performed. This number helps you decide about time for calibration. For more details, see „Calibration”.
- If you want to reset this counter, long-press the options select key (3) until you can see the counter shows zero.
- Displaying last 16 tests:
Press the options select key (3) to display the history of tests (they will be displayed on the screen, marked with „1” serial number, and then with relevant result)
- To leave the test memory mode, press on/off key (4) again.

3. SYSTEM MESSAGES
| Message Meaning of the message | |
![]() | The device has detected high alcohol level (above 2,00‰ BAC / 0.200%BAC /1.00 mg/L) |
| Insufficient or uneven breath sample detected. Please retake the test (see: „how to use) | |
![]() | The sensor of the device is not ready. This happens when high alcohol or dirt from the last test remains on the sensor. This being the case, switch the device off and wait for a couple of minutes before another test. |
![]() | The device was unable to finish the test. Retake the test. Other cause is high ambient temperature. In such case please retake the test (see: „how to use”) |
![]() | Low battery. Use new AAA alkaline batteries |
| [Out] | TThe temperature of the test was too low or too high. Restore room temperature for the device. Before another test, wait for a couple of minutes until the device sensor reaches the room temperature. |
4. SAFETY PRECAUTIONS
- Wait for at least 15-20 minutes if you have drunk alcohol or smoked cigarettes before you take the test. Remember to rinse your mouth with water.
- To obtain precise results, it is advisable to calibrate the device every 12 months or 300 tests.
- The devices operates at the temperature of 10 – 40°C, with optimal precision for tests at room temperature (i.e. ca. 20 – 26°C).
EN
- If the test result is lower than 0,10‰ or 0,10 % BAC or 0,050 mg / L, it is natural when you didn't drink any alcohol. It happens because in some cases it is possible to detect other substance than alcohol from the breath sample.
- Do not use the device if you wish to specify and decide about driving vehicles. The result displayed is for information purposes only. The manufacturer and retailer waive any legal liability for measured/estimated test value.
5. MAINTENANCE
To keep the device in a good condition, it is important that you use the device at least once a month.
6. CALIBRATION
- Precision of alcohol level testers may change after 6-12 months of use, depending on the number of tests done and working conditions.
- If the device shows inconsistent test results, fails to show any test results or displays extremely high or low results, the product must be calibrated.
- To calibrate it, contact the service center.
