How to use the measuring cup to measure water?

The measuring cup has three hardness levels: Soft, Medium and Hard. Each level has graduations from 1 to 7 corresponding to the number of eggs. Fill the cup to the desired graduation (e.g., level 3 at 'Hard' for 3 hard-boiled eggs) then pour the water into the reservoir.

Why pierce the eggs before cooking?

The egg piercer located at the bottom of the measuring cup allows you to pierce a small hole on the blunt side of the egg. This prevents the egg from bursting during cooking by releasing pressure.

What to do if the appliance does not turn on?

First check that the plug is properly inserted into a functional wall outlet. Make sure the on/off switch is in the 'I' position. If the problem persists, contact Bestron after-sales service. Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

How to clean the egg cooker?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Clean the lid, egg tray and cooking plate with a damp cloth. Never immerse the appliance in water and do not put it in the dishwasher. Dry thoroughly.

How to descale the appliance?

Fill the measuring cup with descaling solution or white vinegar, top up with water to the top, pour into the cooking plate. Let it sit for 30 minutes without turning it on, then empty and dry. Repeat if necessary.

Can I cook more than 7 eggs at a time?

No, the maximum capacity is 7 eggs. Beyond that, the eggs will not cook evenly and the appliance could be damaged.

Does the appliance automatically turn off at the end of cooking?

No. The appliance emits an audible beep to signal the end of cooking, but you must manually turn the switch to the '0' position. The alarm continues to sound until the appliance is turned off.

What to do if the audible alarm does not stop?

The audible alarm only stops when you flip the switch to '0'. If the beep persists after turning off, unplug the appliance and contact after-sales service.

Does the warranty cover transport damage?

No, the warranty does not cover damage occurring during transport. Keep the original packaging for any future movements.

Can I use already cooked eggs to reheat them?

No, this appliance is designed only for cooking raw eggs. Do not use it to reheat already cooked eggs, as this could damage the appliance or may not produce a satisfactory result.

Congratulations with the purchase of this Bestron product. These instructions tell you how the product works and how to use it. Read the instructions carefully before you start using the appliance. Only use the appliance in the manner described in the instructions. Keep these instructions in a safe place for future reference.

Defects:

If the appliance is defective, do not try to repair it yourself. Always have a qualified mechanic carry out any repairs.

Children:

• This appliance may be used by children over the age of 8 years old and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and know-how, but only if supervised or if they have been instructed on how to use the appliance safely and are aware of its potential dangers.
  • Children are not allowed to clean and maintain the appliance, except if they are over the age of 8 years old and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and the cable out of reach of children under the age of 8 years old.
• Keep an eye on children to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT ELECTRICAL APPLIANCES

WHAT YOU SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS APPLIANCE

• Never use the appliance outdoors.
• Never use the appliance in damp or wet locations.
• Thoroughly clean the appliance after use (see Cleaning and Maintenance).
• Never switch on the device without content.
• Certain surfaces can become very hot while the appliance is operating
• Do not move or touch the device during operation.
• Remove the egg cooker hood only after hearing the buzzer.
• Only open the appliance and the egg rack by means of the handles.
  • Hot steam can escape when the lid is opened.
• Handle the measuring cup carefully. It contains the egg piercer at the bottom.
  • Make sure the cord does not touch the hot parts of the appliance.

OPERATION - Before use for the first time

1. Take the appliance out of the packaging.
2. Clean the appliance (see 'Cleaning and maintenance').

OPERATION - The use of the measuring cup

1. Choose the desired hardness of the eggs. The measuring cup contains three options: Soft, Medium, Hard.
2. Choose the number of eggs you want to boil. The measuring cup contains 7 levels per hardness option, one for each egg.

TIPS

For example, do you want 4 medium eggs? Please fill the measuring cup to level 4 at 'medium'. Or do you want 3 hardboiled eggs? Please fill the measuring cup to level 3 at 'hard'.

The egg boiler allows you to boil between 1 and 7 eggs at the same time. Whether the eggs are boiled soft, medium or hard depends on the amount of water you add.

1. Use the measuring cup (5) to get the amount of cold water required.
2. Fill the boiling dish with water.
3. Pierce the rounded end of the eggs with the egg piercer (6), which you will find on the bottom of the measuring cup. This prevents the eggs from cracking.
4. Place the eggs with the rounded side in the egg-rack (2) and position it with the stainless steel lid (1) on top of it onto the egg boiler.
5. Connect the plug (4) to an earthed mains wall socket and switch the On/Off-switch (7) to "I".
6. A buzzing tone signals when the eggs are ready.

7. Carefully remove the lid and remove the egg rack with the eggs from the appliance. Rinse the eggs with cold tap water. Switch to "0" and pull the plug.

8. Place the eggs in cold water to make them easier to peel.

9. You can serve the eggs now.

ATTENTION:

• The buzzer continues to sound until the on / off switch is set to position "0". Always set the on / off switch to "0" after your eggs are ready.
  • The egg piercer is sharp, make sure you do not injure yourself!

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool.
2. Clean the stainless steel lid, egg-rack and boiling dish with a damp cloth.
3. Dry the appliance thoroughly.

ATTENTION:

• Never immerse the appliance in water.
• Never put the appliance in a dishwasher.
  • Make sure that the electrical connections do not become damp.
• Never use corrosive or scouring cleaning agents or sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes) to clean the appliance.
• Before cleaning, make sure that the appliance is not connected to the power supply and that it has cooled down.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE - Descaling

Lime will be deposited on the heating element at a rate depending on the hardness of the water. For this reason the heating element must be cleaned at regular intervals.

1. Remove the plug from the wall socket, and allow the appliance to cool.
2. Fill the measuring cup with a little calcium remover and top it up with water until the measuring cup is full. Pour this mixture onto the cooking dish.
3. Allow the mixture to stand for 30 minutes without turning on the egg cooker.
4. Pour the mixture out of the cooking dish.
5. Dry the cooking dish well.

WARRANTY CONDITIONS

Bestron offers a 60-month warranty on this equipment against defects resulting from manufacturing and/or material errors, subject to the following conditions.

1. No labour or material costs will be charged during this warranty period.

2. Any repairs carried out under the warranty will not extend the warranty period.

3. Faulty parts, or in the event of exchange, the faulty equipment itself, will automatically become the property of Bestron.

4. The warranty is valid for the first buyer only and is non-transferable.

5. The warranty is not valid for damage caused by:

- Accidents

• Improper use
• Wear and tear
• Neglect
• Faulty installation
• Connection to a different mains voltage than indicated on the type plate
  • Unauthorised changes
  • Repairs carried out by unqualified third parties
• Use in violation with the applicable statutory, technical or safety standards

• Careless transport without suitable packaging or other protection

• Warranty cannot be claimed:

• For damage during transport
  • If the serial number of the appliance is removed or changed

• Items excluded from warranty are:

1. The warranty does not entitle the purchaser to compensation for any damage other than replacement or repair of the faulty parts. Bestron cannot in any event be held liable for any indirect or consequential losses caused by or in relation to the equipment it has provided.
2. Claims under a warranty may only be submitted to your (online) retailer or directly to the Bestron Service Department. Never send items without being asked to. We may refuse the parcel and you will be liable for the costs. Contact us first and we tell you how the appliance should be packaged and sent. Each claim under a warranty must be accompanied by the relevant receipt.
