SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

• This appliance is not intended for professional use, but is intended for domestic and similar use, such as in staff kitchens, in shops, offices and other working environments, by guests in hotels, motels and other residential environments, in Bed & Breakfast type environments and farms.
• Make sure that the mains voltage matches with the voltage shown on the rating plate.
• Always install the appliance on a stable and level surface where it cannot fall over.
• Parts of this appliance may become warm or hot. Avoid burning yourself. Do not touch.
• Your hands must be dry when you touch this appliance, it's cord and plug.
• This appliance must lose its heat so give it sufficient clearance around it. Also do not cover it.
• This appliance, the cord and the plug must not come into contact with water, heat sources or open flames.
• Do not touch this device if it has come into contact with water. Immediately remove the plug from the socket.
• Never let the cord hang over the edge of the sink, worktop or table.
• Always remove the plug from the socket when you are not using the electrical appliance.
• Remove the plug from the socket by pulling on the plug itself and not on the cord.
• Do not use the electrical appliance if the cord is damaged.
• Do not operate this appliance with an external timer or separate remote control system.
• If the appliance or cord is defective, do not attempt to repair it yourself. Always have repairs carried out by a qualified technician. It must be replaced by the manufacturer, a technical service provider or a person with equivalent qualifications, to avoid any danger.
• Do not move this device when it is turned on or still hot.
• Do not place heavy objects on the lid to keep the device closed.
• Never use this device near birds. The fumes released from the non-stick coating can cause stress or worse in birds.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the dangers.
• Children are not allowed to clean or maintain the appliance unless they are over 8 years old and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and the cord out of the reach of children under the age of 8.
• Children must be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
• Thoroughly clean the appliance after use (see Cleaning and Maintenance).

ENVIRONMENT

Dispose of packaging material such as plastic and cardboard boxes in the designated containers.

Do not dispose of this product as normal domestic waste at the end of its life, but hand it in at a collection point for the reuse of electric and electronic equipment. Look for the symbol on the product, the user instructions or the packaging showing the type of waste.

OPERATION - General information

The following description is associated with the image on page 2:

USE-BEFOREFIRSTUSE

First let the toaster toast a few times at the maximum setting (setting 7) and without bread. In this way, the last remnants of the manufacturing process are removed. A slight smoke and odor may develop.

USE - PREPARATION

1. Place the device on a stable and flat surface.
2. Insert the plug into the socket.

USE -TOAST BREAD

1. Adjust the degree of browning using the setting button (8).

2. At the lowest setting (setting 1) the browning level is lowest.

3. At the highest setting (setting 7) the degree of browning is highest.
4. If in doubt, always start with the lowest setting.
5. You need to toast stale bread at a lower setting than fresh bread.

6. You need to toast whole wheat bread at a higher setting than white bread.

7. Place two slices of bread on the bread carriage (3) of the toaster.

8. Press the bread sleigh down using the sleigh control lever (4) until it clicks into place. The 'Cancel' indicator light (7) lights up. The device will now start toasting and then switch off automatically. The bread carriage then automatically rises.
9. Remove the toasted bread from the toaster. Remove the plug from the socket. Allow the toaster to cool before storing it. Wrap the cable around the pins on the bottom of the toaster.

DANGER:

• The toasting process can be interrupted at any time. In this case, press the 'Cancel' button (7).
• If the toaster or bread emits smoke, then switch the toaster off by pressing the 'Cancel' button.
• If the bread gets stuck in the toaster, remove the plug from the socket and allow the toaster to cool down. Then carefully remove the bread from the toaster. Do not use sharp objects and/or metal objects for this.

USE - WARM-UP FUNCTION

The toaster has a warm-up function. To use the warm-up function, press the 'Reheat' button (6) after pushing the sleigh down with the control lever. When you have pressed the button, the indicator light starts to light up.

USE -DEFROST FUNCTION

The toaster has a defrost function. You can use this to defrost frozen bread. To use the defrost function, press the 'Defrost' button (5) after pushing the sleigh down with the control lever. When you have pressed the button, the indicator light starts to light up.

USE - WARM UP ROLLS OR BAGUETTES

1. Fold out the bun attachment by pressing the control lever down.
2. Place the rolls or baguette on the roll attachment.
3. Follow the procedure for toasting bread without placing bread slices in the bread carriages.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

1. Remove the plug from the socket and allow the device to cool down.
2. Pull the crumb tray (2) out of the device and remove any remaining crumbs.
3. Clean the outer edge of the device with a damp cloth and wipe with a dry cloth. Make sure that no moisture gets inside the device.
4. Push the crumb tray back into the device.

DANGER:

• Never immerse the device, the plug and the cable in water. Never place the device in a dishwasher.
• Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents or scouring agents for cleaning
• sharp objects (such as knives or hard brushes).
