■ CAUTION! DAMAGE TO THE ARTICLE! Please have all installations performed by skilled individuals.
Please note that the seals are wear parts and must be changed from time to time.
■ Any leakage or sudden escape of water can cause considerable damage to buildings and property. All connections must therefore be checked carefully to ensure that they are tight.
- Familiarise yourself prior to installation with all local conditions, e.g. water connections and shut-off device.
The product is only suitable for use in rooms in which a temperature above 0 °C is maintained.

●Installation

Note: Familiarise yourself with the product prior to assembly. Carefully read the following assembly instructions and safety advice. In the event of incorrect installation, all warranty claims – particularly in relation to subsequent damage – are excluded.

■ CAUTION! Before you start installation turn off the water supply at the mains. Otherwise injuries and / or property damage may occur.
■ CAUTION! Do not twist or strain the connection hoses.

Note: This step requires a slot screwdriver and a SW 12 mm open-end spanner.

Follow these steps:

■ CAUTION! Be sure to only fasten the connecting hoses hand tight (see Fig. A). Do not use pliers or a wrench. Otherwise the product could be damaged.
☐ Screw the two connecting hoses 9 hand tight into the designated boreholes in the fitting body 2 (see Fig. A).

☐ Using a slot screwdriver tighten the threaded bolt 7 all the way into the fitting body 2 and remove the fastening nut 8. Attach the fitting base ring 3 to the fitting body 2.
Place the fitting base seal 4 into the groove on the fitting base ring 3 on the underside of the fitting body 2 and place it over the opening on your sink unit.
☐ Under the sink unit, first place the plastic triangle 18, then the C-sealing washer 5, then the C-metal washer 6 onto the threaded bolt 7.
Now attach the fastening nut 8 to the threaded bolt 7 and tighten with an open-end spanner SW 12 mm until the fitting is seated firmly on the sink unit.
☐ Screw the connecting hoses 9 onto your angle valves. Be sure to correctly attach the two connecting hoses 9 to the cold and hot water connections.

- Start-up

After the initial commissioning, carefully check all connections for leaks.

To remove any possible impurities the tap must be flushed before being used for the first time. To do this, proceed as follows:

□ Unscrew the aerator attachment and aerator 10 from the spout 1
Open the main water supply and allow the water to flow for two minutes to flush out any residues.
☐ Screw the aerator attachment and aerator 10 back onto the spout 1.

Operation

Note: If the tap has not been used for a long period, flush the pipes thoroughly to avoid stagnation and build-up of residue.

□ Open the main water supply.
☐ Lift the handle 16 and swing it to the right or left in order to regulate the speed or temperature of the water.

Hot water:

Swing the handle 16 to the left.

Cold water:

Swing the handle 16 to the right.

☐ Check operation of the mixer. To do so, swing the handle 16 into all permissible positions. Please regularly check the connections are tight.

● Maintenance and Cleaning

● Maintaining and cleaning the tap

Please note that sanitary taps require special care and attention.

Therefore, please follow the instructions:

■ Never clean with petrol, solvents or harsh cleaners or hard cleaning brushes, etc. These can damage the product surface.
- Dry your taps with a cloth after every use in order to avoid the build-up of any limescale.
□ Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and, if necessary, mild detergent.

☐ Unscrew the aerator attachment and aerator 10 at regular intervals and remove any limescale deposits or foreign bodies. In the event of excessive dirt or damage replace the the aerator attachment and aerator 10 with a new one.

Note: The aerator attachment and aerator can normally be unscrewed by hand. Otherwise you can carefully use a pipe wrench and you must lay a thin, damp cloth around the aerator attachment and aerator 10 so that you do not damage it. A pipe wrench with plastic jaws is also suitable.

Non-observance of the above care advice can be expected to result in damage to the surfaces of the product. This will inevitably invalidate the guarantee.

- Replacing the cartridge

A cartridge 11 is a wear part that needs replacing according to the hardness and / or degree of contamination of the water. This becomes evident when the handle 16 becomes difficult to move. A new cartridge 11 can be obtained from the listed service office.

Note: This step requires an open-end spanner SW 27 mm or fitting pliers.

Proceed as follows to replace the cartridge 11:

☐ Shut off the main water supply. Allow any remaining water in the pipework to drain.
☐ Remove the hot / cold plaque 14 by adjusting the handle 16 to the highest position and inserting a flat object between the edge of the hot / cold plaque 14 and the outside of the handle 16.

Note: Use light pressure to carefully push the hot / cold plaque 14 outward so as not to scratch the surface.

MIOMARE HG06202 - - Replacing the cartridge - 1

natural_image Color palette bar with grayscale swatches and a central crosshair (no text or symbols)

☐ Loosen the locking screw 15 with the socket head wrench 17 by turning it counter-clockwise.

CAUTION! Do not completely unscrew the locking screw

Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle 16

□ Remove the handle 16.
☐ Unscrew the cartridge covering ring 13, do not use pliers or a spanner. Otherwise the product could be damaged.
☐ Loosen the cartridge locknut 12 below with fitting pliers or an open-end spanner SW 27 mm and remove the entire cartridge 11 from the fitting body 2.
☐ Insert the new cartridge into the fitting in the same manner.

Note: Be sure the seal under the cartridge 11 is correctly seated. Make sure that the guides are in the corresponding holes.

☐ Reassemble all the above parts. Tighten the cartridge lock nut using fitting pliers or an open-end spanner SW 27 mm while simultaneously securing the fitting from twisting. This will achieve tightness and ensure the handle is not difficult to move.

CAUTION! Be careful not to reverse the hot/cold water plaque 14.

The correct position is:

left = red (hot water),

right = blue (cold water).

Information

- Potability of tap water

☐ Find out about the potability of your mains water supply. Your local water authority / water supply company will be able to inform you.

The following general recommendations apply to the potability of tap water:

- Let the water run freely for a short time if it has been stagnating in the pipework for more than four hours. Do not use any of this stagnant water in the preparation of food or for drinking. This applies particularly as far as babies and infants are concerned. Health concerns may otherwise arise. Fresh water can be readily distinguished from stagnant water as fresh water is noticeably cooler as it leaves the pipe.

Do not use stagnant water from chromium-plated pipework to prepare food, for drinking, or for personal hygiene if you are allergic to nickel. This water may contain high quantities of nickel and trigger an allergic reaction.

Do not use water from lead pipework for preparing food baby food and / or to prepare foods during pregnancy. Lead dissolves in drinking water and is particularly damaging to the health of babies and young children.
