DANGER TO LIFE AND RISK
OF ACCIDENTS FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN! Never leave children unattended with the packaging material. Suffocation hazard. Keep this product well away from children. This product is not a toy. BEWARE OF ELECTRIC SHOCK! Leaking or water discharge can lead to life-threatening danger due to electric shock. Carefully check that all connections are watertight. Also ensure that all wires of electric appliances are cor- rect and have been securely installed. CAUTION! RISK OF INJURY! Please ensure that no parts are damaged and that all parts are correctly assembled. Incorrect asse
bly could lead to injury. Please note that washers and gaskets are wear parts and therefore will need to be replaced from time to time. Damaged parts could impact safety and function. Be sure all seals are correctly seated.
AUTION! Be careful not to reverse the hot / cold water plaque
The correct position is: left = red (hot water), right = blue (cold water). 270065_Spueltisch-Armatur_Content_CH.indd 50 13.08.15 17:3251 GB CAUTION! DAMAGE TO THE ARTICLE! Please have all instal- lations performed by skilled individuals. Please note that the seals are wear parts and must be changed from time to time. Any leakage or sudden escape of water can cause considerable damage to buildings and property. All connections must therefore be checked carefully to ensure that they are tight. Familiarise yourself prior to installation with all local conditions, e.g. water connections and shut-off device. The product is only suitable for use in rooms in which a temperature above 0 °C is maintained. Installation Note: Familiarise yourself with the product prior to assembly. Carefully read the following assembly instructions and safety advice. In the event of incorrect installation, all warranty claims – particularly in relation to subsequent damage – are excluded. CAUTION! Before you start installation turn off the water supply at the mains. Otherwise injuries and / or property damage may occur. CAUTION! Do not twist or strain the connection hoses
Note: This step requires a slot screwdriver and a SW 12 mm open-end spanner. Follow these steps: CAUTION! Be sure to only fasten the connecting hoses
hand tight (see Fig. A). Do not use pliers or a wrench. Otherwise the product could be damaged. Screw the two connecting hoses
hand tight into the designated boreholes in the fitting body
all the way into the fitting body
and remove the fastening nut
Place the fitting base seal
into the groove on the fitting base ring
on the underside of the fitting body
and place it over the opening on your sink unit. Under the sink unit, first place the plastic triangle
, then the C-sealing washer
onto the threaded bolt
Now attach the fastening nut
to the threaded bolt
and tighten with an open-end spanner SW 12 mm until the fitting is seated firmly on the sink unit. Screw the connecting hoses
onto your angle valves. Be sure to correctly attach the two connecting hoses
to the cold and hot water connections. Start-up After the initial commissioning, carefully check all connections for leaks. To remove any possible impurities the tap must be flushed before being used for the first time. To do this, proceed as follows: Unscrew the aerator attachment and aerator
Open the main water supply and allow the water to flow for two minutes to flush out any residues. Screw the aerator attachment and aerator
270065_Spueltisch-Armatur_Content_CH.indd 52 13.08.15 17:3253 GB Operation Note: If the tap has not been used for a long period, flush the pipes thoroughly to avoid stagnation and build-up of residue. Open the main water supply. Lift the handle
and swing it to the right or left in order to regulate the speed or temperature of the water. Hot water: Swing the handle
to the left. Cold water: Swing the handle
to the right. Check operation of the mixer. To do so, swing the handle
into all permissible positions. Please regularly check the connections are tight. Maintenance and Cleaning Maintaining and cleaning the tap Please note that sanitary taps require special care and attention. Therefore, please follow the instructions: Never clean with petrol, solvents or harsh cleaners or hard cleaning brushes, etc. These can damage the product surface. Dry your taps with a cloth after every use in order to avoid the build-up of any limescale. Clean the product with a damp, soft cloth and, if necessary, mild detergent. 270065_Spueltisch-Armatur_Content_CH.indd 53 13.08.15 17:3254 GB Unscrew the aerator attachment and aerator
at regular inter- vals and remove any limescale deposits or foreign bodies. In the event of excessive dirt or damage replace the the aerator attach- ment and aerator
with a new one. Note: The aerator attachment and aerator
can normally be unscrewed by hand. Otherwise you can carefully use a pipe wrench and you must lay a thin, damp cloth around the aerator attachment and aerator
so that you do not damage it. A pipe wrench with plastic jaws is also suitable. Non-observance of the above care advice can be expected to result in damage to the surfaces of the product. This will inevitably invalidate the guarantee. Replacing the cartridge A cartridge
is a wear part that needs replacing according to the hardness and / or degree of contamination of the water. This becomes evident when the handle
becomes difficult to move. A new cartridge
can be obtained from the listed service office. Note: This step requires an open-end spanner SW 27 mm or fitting pliers. Proceed as follows to replace the cartridge
Shut off the main water supply. Allow any remaining water in the pipework to drain. Remove the hot / cold plaque
by adjusting the handle
to the highest position and inserting a flat object between the edge of the hot / cold plaque
and the outside of the handle
Note: Use light pressure to carefully push the hot / cold plaque
outward so as not to scratch the surface. 270065_Spueltisch-Armatur_Content_CH.indd 54 13.08.15 17:3255 GB Loosen the locking screw
with the socket head wrench
turning it counter-clockwise. CAUTION! Do not completely unscrew the locking screw
Only loosen this as far as is necessary to remove the handle
Unscrew the cartridge covering ring
, do not use pliers or a spanner. Otherwise the product could be damaged. Loosen the cartridge locknut
below with fitting pliers or an open-end spanner SW 27 mm and remove the entire cartridge
from the fitting body
Insert the new cartridge into the fitting in the same manner. Note: Be sure the seal under the cartridge
is correctly seated. Make sure that the guides are in the corresponding holes. Reassemble all the above parts. Tighten the cartridge lock nut
using fitting pliers or an open-end spanner SW 27 mm while simul- taneously securing the fitting from twisting. This will achieve tightness and ensure the handle is not difficult to move. CAUTION! Be careful not to reverse the hot / cold water plaque
The correct position is: left = red (hot water), right = blue (cold water). Disposal The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials, which may be disposed of through your local recycling facilities. Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details on how to dispose of your worn-out product. 270065_Spueltisch-Armatur_Content_CH.indd 55 13.08.15 17:3256 GB Information Potability of tap water Find out about the potability of your mains water supply. Your local water authority / water supply company will be able to inform you. The following general recommendations apply to the potability of tap water: Let the water run freely for a short time if it has been stagnating in the pipework for more than four hours. Do not use any of this stag- nant water in the preparation of food or for drinking. This applies particularly as far as babies and infants are concerned. Health con- cerns may otherwise arise. Fresh water can be readily distinguished from stagnant water as fresh water is noticeably cooler as it leaves the pipe. Do not use stagnant water from chromium-plated pipework to pre- pare food, for drinking, or for personal hygiene if you are allergic to nickel. This water may contain high quantities of nickel and trigg
an allergic reaction. Do not use water from lead pipework for preparing food baby food and / or to prepare foods during pregnancy. Lead dissolves in drink- ing water and is particularly damaging to the health of babies and young children. Warranty and Service The warranty period is three years and begins on the day of purchase.
