OPERATION
This product was designed to make its use simple, practical, efficient and safe.
Wireless device: maximum ease of use, cleanliness and security. The power cord is independent from the electric kettle.
Lid safety lock: ensures the lid does not open when pouring water.
Auto-off: the kettle switches off automatically when the water starts boiling.
Maximum level indication: the water level indicator, indicates the maximum amount of water that the electric kettle can take (1.7lt).
Level indicator: shows the amount of water that is inside the electric kettle.
Cable winder: for easy storage, wrap the cable around the bottom of the power base.
Before first use
Clean the inside of the kettle and then boil water (at least once). Discard the water from the 1st boil.
During the first use it can release some odours, which is perfectly normal.
Use
Unwind the power cord from the power base.
Place the pad on a flat surface away from hot surfaces or flames.
Open the kettle lid by pressing the lid opening button to unlock the lock.
Fill the electric kettle with water, outside the power base.
Never exceed the maximum level indicator, that is, do not fill with more than 1.7 litres.
Use the level gauge to check how much water is in the kettle.
Close the lid completely. Never operate the kettle with the lid open, as the “auto power off” system only works with the lid closed.
Place the electric kettle on the power base, fitting it snugly into the adapter.
Press the on/off switch to turn on the kettle. The indicator light turns on indicating that the kettle has started up.
As soon as the water boils, the jar will automatically turn off. The indicator light turns off.
Remove the electric kettle from the power base using the handle to move it.
If you want to stop heating, to get hot water without boiling, just turn the on/off switch to the "0" position and it turns off automatically (the indicator goes off).
If you want to reheat (reheat) the water, fit the kettle to the power base, set the on/off switch to the "I" position to turn the kettle on (and the indicator light comes on).
After the water comes to a boil and the kettle switches off automatically, a few drops of water may appear on the hopper. This is normal, it results from condensation generated during operation, and water appears through the holes in the bottom of the kettle.
Before putting the kettle back into operation, unplug the plug from the socket and wipe off the water with a dry, absorbent cloth.
Never run the water kettle with the power base wet.
If by accident, pour water into the power base, proceed as follows:
- disconnect the plug from the socket.
- clean the infeed base with a dry, absorbent cloth.
- clean the surface where the power base is placed.
- connect the plug to the socket and restart use.
If you carelessly put the kettle to work without water, the safety device that prevents overheating will actuate and turn it off. In this situation, remove the kettle from the feed base; let it cool down; fill with water without exceeding the maximum level indicator; place the kettle on the power base and reconnect.
Never put cold water in a very hot kettle, as you run the risk of getting burned.
MAINTENANCE AND CLEANING
After each use and before proceeding with any cleaning operation, always unplug the plug from the socket and allow the kettle to cool down. Descaling extends the life of the electric kettle, improves its behaviour, reduces electricity consumption and guarantees the correct functioning of the safety system that prevents overheating.
Never immerse the kettle or feed base in water or any other liquid.
Clean the outside of the kettle and the feed base with a dry, absorbent cloth.
Do not use abrasive products.
How to remove the filter:
To remove the kettle filter for cleaning, remove the kettle from the spout base and allow to cool. Do not remove the kettle filter if it is still hot or filled with water.
- Open the lid by pressing the open button.
- Remove the filter. Carry out the cleaning operation.
Place the filter in the same place, making sure it is properly placed.
Do not use the kettle before making sure the filter is correctly placed.
DESCALING
You should descale the electric kettle monthly, or more often depending on the lime scale in the water and how often you use the kettle.
To remove limescale stains from the inside of the body, periodically descale the jar using one of the following methods:
- Use a liquid descaling agent, available in commerce or at authorized Flama after
sales services, and proceed according to the instructions that come with the descaling agent or
- Use a mixture of half litre of water with 5 to 6 tablespoons of lemon juice.
When descaling, pay attention to the following:
- First add the water and then the descaling agent or lemon juice.
- Do not let the mixture boil and be aware of possible foam formation.
- After descaling, boil water at least twice, before normal use.
If brown spots appear on the inside of the body, it is not rust, but a deposit of ferritic limestone that is easily removed.
