How to cook white rice with the SR-ZE105?

Measure the rice with the provided measuring cup (1 cup ≈ 180 mL). Rinse the rice until the water runs clear. Place the rice in the cooking pan, add water up to the corresponding White Rice mark. Close the lid, plug in the appliance. Press Menu Select to select White Rice, then press Start. Cooking takes about 40 minutes. When cooking is complete, the appliance automatically switches to keep warm.

How to use the timer to schedule cooking in advance?

First select the desired function (e.g. White Rice). Press the Timer button: the time flashes. Set the desired delay (up to 13 hours) by pressing the Cooking Timer button (in 30-minute intervals). Press Start. Cooking will start automatically to finish at the scheduled time. The timer is not available for Quinoa, Quick Cooking, Steam and Soup/Slow Cooking functions.

Why is my rice too hard or too soft?

This is often due to an incorrect water-to-rice ratio. Check that you are using the water level marks corresponding to the chosen function. For softer rice, add a little more water; for firmer rice, reduce it. Also ensure that the cooking pan is in full contact with the heating plate and that no foreign objects are present between them.

How to clean the inner lid of the rice cooker?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. To remove the inner lid, hold both tabs and pull towards you. Wash it with a sponge and mild detergent, then rinse and dry. To reattach, insert the protruding part into the outer lid, then press on the tabs until you hear a click.

Can I cook other grains besides rice?

Yes, the SR-ZE105 has dedicated functions: Quinoa, Multigrain, Brown Rice, Sticky Rice and Congee. For quinoa, use 1 measuring cup of quinoa to 2 cups of water (SR-ZE105 model). Refer to the quantity table in the manual.

What does error code U14 on the display mean?

The code U14 indicates that the appliance has been in Keep Warm mode for more than 96 hours. For safety reasons, the power cuts off automatically. Press the Off button to reset the error. If the problem persists, contact an authorized service center.

How to use the adjustable steaming basket for steaming?

Place the steaming basket in the cooking pan. Add the required amount of water according to the cooking time (e.g., 1 cup for less than 10 min, 2 cups for 10-30 min). Select the Steam function with the Menu Select button, set the cooking time (1 to 60 min) with Cooking Timer, then press Start. Caution: do not open the lid during cooking.

Why does the rice burn at the bottom of the pan?

Several possible causes: foreign objects between the cooking pan and the heating plate, insufficient water, lid not closed properly, or rice not rinsed correctly. Make sure the outer surface of the pan is dry and the heating plate is clean. Avoid cooking with too much oil.

What is the cooking time for brown rice?

Cooking Brown Rice (function Brown Rice) takes about 120 minutes (2 hours). This time may vary depending on voltage, ambient temperature, and the amount of rice. After cooking, keep warm is not recommended as it alters the taste.

Can I prepare soup or a stew in this cooker?

Yes, use the Soup / Slow Cooking function. Put all ingredients in the cooking pan (do not exceed the maximum mark for White Rice, about 1.8 L). Set the cooking time from 1 to 12 hours (in 30-minute intervals) with the Cooking Timer button, then start cooking. Keep warm is not recommended for this function.

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed, including the following:

Avoid using the appliance under direct sunlight.

Before using the appliance, the anti-tarnish paper between the inner pan and the cast heater should be removed.

Do not cover the outer lid with cloth or other objects when the appliance is in use.

Preparations

Measure rice with the measuring cup provided.

• The volume of the measuring cup is about 180~mL .
• For the maximum quantity of rice to be cooked at once, refer to specific cations in Page 17.

• Wash the rice thoroughly. Otherwise, rice crust may appear and the residual rice bran may affect the taste of the rice.

• In the Soup / Slow Cook function, the total amount of ingredients and water shall not exceed the maximum water line for "White Rice".
• Dry the outside surface of the inner pan. If it is wet, it may cause noise while cooking. Any foreign matters between the inner pan and the cast heater may damage the unit.
• Please make sure that the inner pan is on leveled surface.
• Please measure water by aligning water line left side and right side.
  If rice is too hard or too soft, please adjust water amount according to your personal taste.

4 Put the inner pan into the body and close the outer lid. ① In order to closely attach the bottom of inner pan to the cast heater, please rotate the inner pan along the direction indicated by the arrow 2 or 3 times.

• You can keep the rice warm for up to 5 hours, so as not to affect the taste or cause unpleasant smell.
• When in Keep Warm function, there may be some droplets at the edge of the inner pan.
• The rice taste may be affected if rice scoop is left in the electric rice cooker during Keep Warm function.

Using the Timer

The presetting time is desired time for eating.

Cleaning and maintenance

• Be sure to unplug and carry out these operations when the appliance is cooled down.
• Parts need to be cleaned after every use.
• Do not use cleaning objects such as benzine, thinners, cleansing powder or metal scrubbers.

Inner lid

Remove the inner lid Hold the two tabs, then pull them towards you.

■ Attach the inner lid

Insert the protruding part into the locker on the outer lid in a tilted way.
Press the tabs (both sides) inwards the outer lid side until the click sound is heard.

Load and unload tabs of inner lid

• Wash with a diluted dishwashing detergent and sponge.

Inner pan

Wash with a diluted dishwashing detergent and sponge and wipe off the external surface of the pan. Do not use scouring pad.

Temperature sensor / Cast heater

If an object has become stuck to the temperature sensor / cast heater, slightly polish it off using fine sandpaper (of about # 600). Then wipe with a damp cloth.

Body / Outer lid

Wipe with a damp cloth.
- Do not use a dishwashing detergent.

Upper frame

Wipe with damp cloth.

Height adjustment

Put your thumb on the ring on the inner wall of the rotating part, lift and slightly turn it counterclockwise, and then release your finger. The height of the adjustable steam basket will increase. To restore the previous size, hold the bottom of the rotating part with your palm, slightly turn it clockwise, and lift it up to clip.

Disassembly

Firstly, restore the adjustable steam basket to the initial state (shallow), turn it over on the table, and then press down firmly on the rotating part up to clip. Fixed part and rotating part will detach.

Assembly

Direct the protrusion on the edge of the rotating part towards the groove on the inner wall of the fixed part, and then press with force on the bottom of the rotating part up to clip.
