Frequently Asked Questions - CK 2022 ADE

How to set the time manually if the alarm clock does not receive the DCF77 signal?
Press and hold the M.SET button until the hands turn. Release just before the correct time, then press the same button briefly several times to advance minute by minute. If no button is pressed for 30 seconds, the set time is saved.
What to do if the temperature display is incorrect?
Check that the alarm clock is not exposed to direct sunlight or a heat source. The displayed temperature may be influenced by the immediate environment.
How to use the snooze function?
When the alarm sounds, press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button once. The alarm stops and sounds again after 5 minutes. You can repeat this process several times.
Why do the hands not move after inserting the battery?
Make sure the battery is inserted with the correct polarity (+/-) and that it is new. If the problem persists, press the RESET button with a pointed object to reset the device.
How to clean the alarm clock?
Use a soft dry cloth to dust. For stains, wipe with a slightly damp cloth, then dry. Never immerse the device in water and do not use abrasive products.
Which battery to use for the alarm clock?
Use a LR03 (AAA) 1.5 V battery. Strictly observe the polarity indicated in the compartment. Do not mix used and new batteries.
How to switch from summer time to winter time?
The change from summer time to winter time and vice versa occurs automatically if the alarm clock correctly receives the DCF77 signal. No manual intervention is necessary.
What to do if the alarm does not ring?
Check that the on/off switch is in the ON position and that the alarm time is set correctly with the wheel. Also make sure the battery is functional.
How to reset the alarm clock?
Use a pointed object (e.g., unfolded paperclip) to press the RESET button. A beep sounds, the hands move to 12:00, then the alarm clock goes back to time signal reception mode.
Where to place the alarm clock for better DCF77 signal reception?
Place the alarm clock near a window, away from televisions, computers, and cordless phone base stations. Reception is often better at night. Avoid stormy weather conditions.

Scope of delivery

  • Radio-controlled alarm clock
  • Battery type LR03 (AAA), 1.5 V—(1x)
  • Operating Manual

Start-up

To use the device, you will need a LR03 (AAA),

1.5 V battery.

  1. Slide the battery compartment cover downwards.
  2. Insert the batteries as shown on the bottom of the battery compartment. Pay attention to the correct polarity (+ / -) .
  3. Replace the battery compartment cover and slide it upwards. Battery compartment lid must engage audibly.

Once the battery has been inserted, the alarm clock switches to receiving mode; see next chapter.

Notes on changing the battery:

  • The battery must be changed when the hands stop moving.

  • Only use the battery type specified in the "Technical Data".

  • Dispose of old batteries in an environmentally friendly manner, see "Disposal".

Receiving the time signal

After inserting the battery:

  • Beep sounds

  • Clock hands start to turn and show "12 o'clock" shortly thereafter.

  • Display shows temperature.

  • Alarm clock switches to time signal reception.

As soon as the time signal has been received with sufficient strength, the hands begin to turn again and then indicate the current time. This process can last a few minutes.

From now on the radio-controlled alarm clock automatically switches to receiving mode several times a day and compares its own time with that received by the time signal transmitter. If there is a difference, the time displayed on the alarm clock will be automatically corrected.

If no sufficiently strong signal has been received, the radio-controlled alarm clock will cancel the reception process. In this case:

  • Check whether the location of the radio-controlled alarm clock is suitable; see "Tips for good reception".

  • To restart the reception process, remove the battery and reinsert it.

  • Set the time manually, if necessary; see "Set the time manually".

Use

Dial lighting

  • Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button to turn the dial lighting on for approx. 5 seconds.

Temperature and date display

The room temperature in ^ C and the date in the Day/Month format are displayed alternately for approx. 20 seconds on the small display.

Restart radio transmission

  1. Press and hold the REC button for a few seconds.
  2. Release the button as soon as the clock hands start to turn.

The radio wall clock then indicates "12 o'clock". The alarm clock now tries to receive a radio signal within the next minutes.

  • If the alarm clock receives a sufficiently strong radio signal, the hands will be adjusted to the correct time.
  • If the alarm clock fails to receive a sufficiently strong radio signal, it will revert to the previously displayed time.

Set the time manually

If no radio reception is possible, you can set the time manually.

  1. Press and hold the M.SET button. The hands begin to turn.
  2. Release the button just before the correct time is displayed.
  3. Press the M. SET button again to set the alarm clock to the correct time. Each tap adjusts the radio-controlled alarm clock one minute ahead.

ADE CK 2022 - Set the time manually - 1

When M.SET is not pressed for 30 seconds, the currently set time is stored and you have to repeat the process.

Tips for good reception

  • Set up the radio-controlled alarm clock as close to a window as possible.
  • Maintain a distance from TV sets, computers and monitors. In addition, the alarm clock should not be in the immediate vicinity of base stations of cordless telephones.
  • The reception is generally better at night. If the alarm did not receive a signal during the day, it may well be that the signal is received at night, immediately and at full strength.
  • The weather, e.g. a heavy storm, can cause interference with the reception.

  • Temporary shutoffs of the transmitter can sometimes happen, e.g. because of maintenance work.

About the time signal transmitter DCF77

This radio-controlled alarm clock receives its radio signals from the time signal transmitter DCF77. This broadcasts the precise and official time of the Federal Republic of Germany on the long-wave frequency of 77.5 kHz. The transmitter is located in Mainflingen near Frankfurt am Main and, with its range of up to 2000 km, supplies the majority of radio-controlled clocks in western Europe with the necessary radio signals. Once the radio-controlled alarm clock is powered by the battery, it switches to receiving mode and searches for

the signal from the DCF77 transmitter. If the time signal has been received with sufficient strength, the hands set themselves to the correct time. The radio-controlled alarm clock switches on several times a day and synchronises the time with the radio signal from the transmitter DCF77. In the event the signal is not received, e.g. during a strong storm, the device continues to run precisely and then switches to receiving mode again at the next scheduled time.

Alarm

Setting the alarm time

  1. Use the knob to set the small hand to the desired alarm time. Turn only in the indicated direction of rotation!
  2. Set the alarm switch to the ON position.

Being awakened

At the set time you will be woken by an alarm signal, which will become more intense as the waking time increases.

Auto-stop function

If you do not press a button, the alarm switches off automatically after 2 minutes. After 12 hours, the alarm will be triggered again.

Repeat alarm (snoopze function)

  • Press the SNOOZE/LIGHT button 1x when the alarm sounds.

After 5 minutes, the device switches on again and wakes you up again. This procedure can be repeated multiple times.

Turn the alarm off

-Set the alarm switch to the OFF position.

Other functions

Switching between summer and winter time

The switchover from summer to winter time or vice versa takes place automatically in case of good time signal reception.

Reset the radio-controlled alarm clock to the default settings

If the time is repeatedly displayed incorrectly, you can reset the alarm clock to the default settings (reset function). A reset is required only in exceptional cases.

-Using a thin object (e.g. an unwound

paperclip) press down on the RESET button. A beep will sound and the clock hands will turn to 12:00, with the alarm clock eventually switching to receiving mode.

Cleaning

ADE CK 2022 - Cleaning - 1

Do not immerse the alarm clock in water or other liquids. Do not use rough, scratching or abrasive cleaning agents.

-If necessary, use a soft, dry cloth, or a slightly moistened one to wipe the alarm clock.
