Safety instructions
- Do not carry out any repairs that may endanger safety!
- Use of a heart rate monitor is recommended.
- Consult a doctor before practising this sport in case the user has known cardiovascular problems.
- Wear sports shoes with a good grip and lateral support.
- Avoid hiking in the dark and wear reflective clothing in low-light environment.
- Check all screw fittings each time before using the product.
- Check for damage to the product before use each time.
- Whenever you find a crack in the pole segments or that the product is not functioning perfectly, discontinue use and dispose of the product.
- If possible avoid road traffic to minimise accident risk.
- The product is not suitable for alpine skiing.
- Do not apply any oil because oil can negatively affect the holding force of the adjustment mechanism.
- Be aware that the tips of the poles might damage floors.
- Do not sit on the product since it might snap.
- Products with sharp tips always put children at risk!
- The product is intended for personal use only. No warranty applies if used professionally.
- When using the product be sure also to check the locking system regularly. Make sure that the tension of the lock is adjusted in such a manner that no other parts of the pole can slip.
- Do not use the product as a walking aid.
Pole length - determining the correct size:
The product can be adjusted to eight different lengths. For simplification purposes the table shows the sizes.
Pole length Body size
Open both clamping levers on the quick-release locks and extend the pole segments to the appropriate size. Pole length is indicated on both centre and lower segments of the pole. If you wish to set the pole length to a length of 120cm, adjust both centre and lower pole segments so that the 120cm marking still protrudes visibly from the upper segment of the pole. Then close the clamping levers again.
Important: Do not pull out the pole segments beyond the "STOP MAX" marking on the segments. Sufficient stability cannot otherwise be guaranteed. If the tension of the quick-release lock is no longer sufficient, tighten the knurled screw on the opposite side of the clamping lever.
• Hiking on level ground (figs. C/D)
Set the length of the pole so that upper and lower arm form a 90^ angle.
At the same time make sure that the poles are adjusted to the same length.

natural_image
Line drawing of a person walking with two poles, labeled 'D' in the top-left corner (no text or symbols on the figure itself)• Hiking on traverses (fig. E)
For this the upper pole must be shortened and the lower pole lengthened so that both can offer a support.

natural_image
Line drawing of a woman walking on a slope, holding both poles (no text or symbols)• Hiking uphill/downhill (figs. F/G)
When going uphill the poles must be shortened so that they give comfortable support. When going downhill the poles should be lengthened so that when supported you maintain a comfortable, upright body position.

Adjusting the hand strap (figs. I-L)
The size of the hand strap can be adjusted using the push button. To open the locking mechanism press the push button of the strap adjustment system (fig. 1) with your thumb.
The strap is now unlocked and you can adjust the strap length to suit you. Pull on the open lower end of the strap to shorten it. Pull in the opposite direction if you wish to lengthen the strap (fig. J).
To set the strap again, hold the pole tightly with one hand and pull with the other hand on the strap and the end of the strap so that the push button snaps in (fig. K).
Adjust the size of the strap so that it does not cut into you when you grip the handle (fig. L).

use
- Wear gloves in cold weather.
- On longer hikes you should have enough fluids (perhaps a hydration belt or hydration pack) with you.
- Wear clothing suitable for the weather.
Combination mount for asphalt pad and basket
You can keep the asphalt pad and the trekking pole basket on the combination mount. Use the asphalt pad on stony and hard grounds, and use the trekking pole basket on soft grounds to prevent the trekking pole from sinking in.
Pin the asphalt pad onto the hollow ground tip; when you do not need it, pull it off. Screw the trekking pole basket onto the screw thread on the lower segment of the pole. Make sure that the serrations of the basket face towards the ground. To disassemble turn the basket in the other direction.
You can also remove the combination lock. Pull the red rubber ring by its tab out of the lead on the mount. The mount can then be pulled off the pole. To put the lock on you attach it to the pole again, lead the rubber ring around the pole and put it back into the guide on the combination mount.
If you are not using the asphalt pads or the pole baskets for your current hike, you can attach/insert them on the combination mount.

Warming up and stretching
Before hiking you should perform plenty of warming and stretching exercises (see figs. M-P).
• Fig. M: Front upper leg muscles
Pull your foot upwards to the buttocks.
• Fig. N: Rear lower leg muscles
Press the heel of your back foot to the ground and bend your body forward evenly.
• Fig. O: Inside hip muscles
Push your pelvis downwards at an angle.
• Fig. P: Calf muscles
Raise and lower your heels briefly several times.
