The appliance is provided with an attached cord having a length less than 4 1/2 feet (1.4 meters).

Use the power cord supplied with the device in an unmodified form. It is important for user safety that the appliance is only used with a suitably grounded electrical supply. a) A short power supply cord or detachable power supply cord is to be provided to reduce risks resulting from becoming entangled in or tripping over a longer cord. b) Extension cords are available and may be used if care is exercised in their use. c) If a long detachable power cord or extension cord is used:

1) The marked electrical rating

or the detachable power cord or extension should be at least as great as the electrical rating of the appliance,

2) The appliance is grounded and

only grounded extension cord should be used (type 3-wire cord).

3) The longer cord should be

arranged so that it will not dangle over the countertop or tabletop, where it can be pulled on by children or tripped over.

Press POWER button to turn machine ON. - Check the outlet: plug, voltage, fuse. No coffee, no water, unusual coffee ow. - Check if the water tank is correctly positioned, if empty, fill with fresh, potable water. - Descale the machine, if necessary. Coffee is not hot enough. - Preheat cup using hot water button. - Descale the machine, if necessary. The capsule lever does not close completely. - Empty the capsule container. - Check that capsules aren't blocking inside the machine. (Note: do not place fingers inside the machine). Leakage (water under the machine). - Empty drip tray if full. - Check drip tray is securely inserted. - If problem persists, call Nespresso. No coffee ow, water goes directly into the capsule bucket (despite inserted capsule). - Ensure capsule lever is closed. - Empty capsule bucket and check that no capsule is blocked inside the machine. (NOTE: do not place fingers inside the machine). If problem persists, call the Nespresso. Display is dim and hard to see/read. - Screen brightness is set on a low setting. - Press POWER button to turn ON. - Adjust the screen brightness setting. Navigate to Menu and select Screen Brightness. Fill Water Tank prompt remains on screen (water tank is full). - Check if the water tank is correctly positioned. - If problem persists, call Nespresso. Descale alert is displayed. - Descale the machine. - Navigate to the Menu and select Descale. Follow on-screen prompts. Machine is ON but ceases to operate. - Press POWER button to turn machine OFF. - Wait 60 minutes and press POWER button to turn machine ON. - If problem persists, call Nespresso. Touchscreen is not working. - Press POWER button to turn machine OFF. Press POWER button again to turn machine ON. - If problem persists, call Nespresso. Troubleshooting Milk Froth Preparation Milk steam cycle does not start. - Check if the water tank is correctly positioned, if empty, fill with fresh potable water. - Check steam tip for any blockages and ensure wand is lowered. Quality of froth not up to standard. - Be sure to use pasteurised whole or semi-skimmed milk at refrigerated temperature (about 4-6 °C / 39-43° F). For a better result, the milk should be newly opened. - Check the milk froth setting. - Use the provided milk jug. - Clean both the milk jug and steam wand after each use. - Complete Steam Wand Cleaning Cycle. Navigate to the MENU and select Clean Steam Wand, follow the on-screen prompts. Steam is very wet. - Use fresh, potable water. Do not use highly filtered, demineralised or distilled water. Milk overows. - Fill jug with appropriate milk volume. DO NOT fill above the MAX level. - Minimum and maximum levels are marked on the inside and outside of the jug. - To stop overflow, either reduce the initial volume of milk and/or reduce the froth level. This varies depending on milk type. Milk temperature is too hot. - Use the milk jug provided. - Check the milk jug is positioned correctly on the milk jug temperature sensor in the drip tray. - Check the temperture sensor in the drip tray is dry and clean. - Decrease the milk temperature setting. Milk temperature is not hot enough. - Preheat cup. - Use the provided milk jug. - Check the milk jug is positioned on the temperature sensor in the drip tray. - Increase the milk temperature setting. - Check the steam tip for blockages. Clean Steam Wand alert is displayed. - Clean the steam wand. - Navigate to the Menu and select Clean Steam Wand. Follow the on-screen prompts.23

Two-Year Limited Product Warranty Product Warranty Limitations: 1. This Warranty is only valid for Products purchased and used in North America and shall not extend to any Products (a) not purchased in North America, or (b) purchased in North America but which are used or transferred outside of North America. 3. The Warranty is not applicable to any purchase of a Product for commercial use (such as in a hotel, ofce, restaurant, or other business capacity). 4. This Warranty expressly excludes any defects or damages caused by accessories, replacement parts or repair service other than those that have been authorized by Breville pursuant to the terms hereof. 5. No other warranties, express or implied, are made by Breville are authorized to be made on behalf of Breville by any retailer, agent, distributor, or other party with respect to any Product to any consumer or other party. 6.   • Cosmetic damages (examples include, but are not limited to, scratches, imprint/water marks, cracks and dents, stains, etc.);
  • Products that have been damaged directly or indirectly from the use of a third party product;
  • Products damaged as a result of acts of nature e.g. re, ood, or lightning;
  • Products damaged as a result of connection to irregular current or voltage sources, or use on electric or other current or voltage other than that marked on the Product, or any instruction book;
  • Products for which a consumer has no Proof of Purchase or for which the applicable Warranty Period has expired;
  • Products not purchased from Breville or through a Breville-authorized distributor or Product reseller (for example non-authorized sellers online, at auction, or otherwise, such as, without limitation, and independent e-commerce sites not authorized by Breville); or
  • Products returned by the consumer without request or instruction by Breville which are lost, misdelivered or damaged in transit.28

Two-Year Limited Product Warranty

California residents may initiate Warranty service by calling toll-free at 1-800-562-1465. California law also provides that for any Warranty service for a Product, California residents have the option of returning the Product (a) to the retailer from which it was originally purchased, or (b) to another retailer that sells the same Breville or Nespresso Product, among other rights and consumer protections. California residents need only supply their Proof of Purchase in each case above, or to contact Breville or Nespresso for Warranty service, should call Nespresso Consumer Support for specific instructions. Breville will only be responsible for the cost of repair, replacement or Reimbursement and shipping and handling for such Products under this Warranty. A retail store to which a California resident returns a Product for Warranty service may refer the consume to a Breville Authorized Servicer, replace the Product, or refund the purchase price less the amount directly attributable to the consumer’s usage of the Product. If the above options do not result in the appropriate remedy to the consumer, the consumer may then take the Product to an independent repair facility if service or repair can be economically accomplished. Breville, and not the consumer, will be responsible for the reasonable cost of such service, repair, replacement, or Reimbursement during the Warranty Period for the Product if such Product is subject to Breville Warranty.
