Before first start-up it is definitely necessary to read the operating instructions and safety indications Nr. 5.951-949.0! - Please follow the national rules and regulations for fluid spray jets of the respective country. - Please follow the national rules and regulations for accident prevention of the respective country. Fluid spray jets must be tested regularly and the results of these tests must be documented in writing. - The appliance/accessories must not be modified.

Symbols on the machine

High-pressure jets can be dangerous if improperly used. The
jet may not be directed at persons, animals, live electrical equipment or at the appliance itself.
According to applicable regulations, the appliance must never be used on the drinking water net

without a system separator. A suitable system separator by KARCHER or alternatively a system separator according to EN 12729 type BA must be used.
Water that was flowing through a system separator is considered non-drinkable.
CAUTION
Always connect the system separator to the water supply, never directly to the appliance!
Proper use
Use this high pressure cleaner exclusively for
- Cleaning using low pressure jet and detergent (for e.g. for cleaning machines, cars, buildings, tools),
- For cleaning using high pressure jet without detergent (for e.g. for cleaning facades, terraces, garden appliances).
For stubborn dirt, we recommend the use of the dirt blaster as a special accessory.
Quality requirements for water: ATTENTION
Only clean water may be used as high pressure medium. Impurities will lead to increased wear and tear or formation of deposits in the appliance.
If recycled water is used, the following limit values must not be exceeded.

Safety Devices
Safety devices serve to protect the user and must not be rendered in operational or their functions bypassed.
Overflow valve with pressure switch
While reducing the water supply/quantity regulation at the pump head, the overflow valve opens and part of the water flows back to the pump suck side.
If the pulling lever on the trigger gun is released the pressure switch turns off the pump, the high-pressure jet is stopped. If the pulling lever is pulled the pump is turned on again.
The overflow valve and pressure switch are set and sealed at the factory. Setting only by customer service.
Environmental protection

The packaging material can be recycled. Please do not throw the packaging material into household waste; please send it for recycling.

Before Startup
Unpacking
- Check the contents of the pack before unpacking. In case of transport damage inform vendor immediately.
Check oil level
Read the oil level display when the device is not running. The oil level must be above the two pointers.
Activate deaeration of oil container
Unscrew the fastening screws of the device hood; remove the device hood. Cut off tip of oil container cover. Fasten the device hood.
Install hand spray gun, spray lance and nozzle
Note: The EASY!Lock system joins components with a quick-fasten thread solidly and securely with just one turn.

Insert the high pressure nozzle onto the spray lance. Install union nut and hand-tighten it (EASY!Lock). Join the spray lance with the trigger gun and tighten until hand-tight (EASY!Lock).
Attaching the Accessories
In devices without hose drum:
Join the high-pressure hose with trigger gun and high-pressure connection of the appliance and tighten until handtight (EASY!Lock). Lock a cable clip in the side-hole on the handle.
In devices with hose drum:
Insert the crank in the hose drum shaft and lock it in. Before rolling up, stretch out the high pressure hose. Wind the high pressure hose in uniform layers on the hose drum by rotating the crank. Select the rotation direction in such a way that the high pressure hose does not get bent. Join the high pressure hose with trigger gun and tighten until hand-tight (EASY!Lock).
Start up
WARNING
Risk of injury! Appliance, accessories, supply lines and connections must be in fault-free condition. If they are not in a perfect state then the appliance must not be used.
Electrical connection
DANGER
Danger of injury by electric shock.
- It is imperative to connect the appliance to the electric mains by means of a plug. It is forbidden to permanently connect the appliance to the power supply. The plug serves for the disconnection from the mains.
- The appliance may only be connected to alternating current.
- Minimum fuse strength of the socket (see Technical Data). The highest allowed net impedance at the electrical connection point (refer to technical data) is not to be exceeded. In case of confusion regarding the power impedance present on your connection, please contact your utilities provider.
- Use the extension cord that has an adequate cross-section (see "Technical Data") and unwind it fully from the cable drum.
For connection values, see type plate/technical data.
Unwind the mains cable and place it on the floor. Insert the mains plug into a socket.
Water connection
Connection to the water supply
WARNING
Observe regulations of water supplier.
According to applicable regulations, the appliance must never be used on the drinking water net
without a system separator. A suitable system separator by KÄRCHER or alternatively a system separator according to EN 12729 type BA must be used.

Water that was flowing through a system separator is considered non-drinkable.
For connection values refer to technical specifications.
Connect the supply hose (minimum length 7.5 m, minimum diameter 1 inch) to the water connection point of the appliance (such as the tap).
Note:
The supply hose is not included. Open the water supply.
Drawing in water from open reservoirs
Screw the suction hose with filter (order no. 4.440-238.0) to the water connection. Deaerate the appliance: Unscrew the nozzle.
Switch on the appliance and let it run until the water exiting is bubble-free. Switch off the appliance and fit the nozzle again.
Operation
DANGER
Risk of injury! Never use the appliance without the spray lance attached. Check and ensure proper fitting of the spray lance prior to each use. The screw connection of the spray lance must be finger-tight.
Risk of explosion!
Do not spray flammable liquids.
If the appliance is used in hazardous areas (e.g. filling stations) the corresponding safety regulations must be observed.
Risk of injury! Hold the hand spray gun and the spray pipe firmly with both hands.
Risk of injury! The trigger and safety lever may not be locked during the operation.
Risk of injury! Contact Customer Service if the safety lever is damaged.
Risk of injury from high-pressure water jet. Slide the safety catch on the trigger gun forward before performing any work with the appliance.
CAUTION
Clean engines only at places with corresponding oil separators (environmental safety).
Opening/closing the trigger gun
To open the trigger gun: Actuate the safety lever and trigger. To close the hand spray gun: Release the safety lever and trigger.
High pressure operation
Note:
The appliance is equipped with a pressure switch. The motor starts up only when the trigger gun is open.
Roll off the high pressure hose totally from the hose drum. Set the appliance switch to "I". Control lamp glows green. Push the safety catch towards the back. Open the hand spray gun.
DANGER
When adjusting the pressure/quantity regulation, make sure that the screw connection of the spray lance does not become loose. Set working pressure and flow rate by turning (without load) the pressure and quantity regulation (B) (+/-).
Note:
For transporting small quantities, the engine heat ensures that water is heated up to approx. 15°C.
Operation with detergent
△ WARNING
Unsuitable detergents can cause damage to the appliance and to the object to be cleaned. Use only those detergents that have been approved by Kärcher. Observe the dosage and other instructions provided with these detergents. For considerate treatment of the environment, use detergent economically.
Follow the safety instructions for using detergents.
Kärcher detergents ensure smooth functioning. Please consult us or ask for our catalogue or our detergent information sheets.
→ Fill detergent tank.
△ DANGER
Risk of injury! Switch the appliance off prior to replacing nozzle and activate hand spray gun until device is depressurized.
→ Secure the trigger gun. To do so, push the safety catch towards the front. → Replace high pressure nozzle with a low pressure nozzle (size 250, attachment). Set dosing value for detergent to the desired concentration.

Recommended cleaning method
Spray the detergent sparingly on the dry surface and allow it to react, but not to dry. Spray off loosened dirt with the high-pressure ray. After operations, dip the filter in clear water. Turn the dosing valve to the highest detergent concentration. Start the appliance and rinse for one minute.
Interrupting operation
Close the hand spray gun. The appliance switches off. Secure the trigger gun by pushing the safety catch towards the front.
After the interruption:
Release the trigger gun by pushing the safety catch towards the back. Open the hand spray gun. The appliance will switch on again.
Operational readiness period
On opening the hand-spray gun, the device starts within the readiness period. The indicator lamp glows green.
The readiness period is over if the hand-spray gun remains closed for 30 minutes.
The indicator lamp blinks green.
Reset readiness period
Set the appliance switch to "0". Wait for a while. Set the appliance switch to "I".
Customer Service can switch the device to continuous operations.
Turn off the appliance
Shut off water supply. Open the hand spray gun. Switch on the pump with the power switch and allow to run for about 5-10 seconds. Close the hand spray gun. Set the appliance switch to "0/OFF". Pull main plug out of socket with dry hands only. Remove water connection. Activate hand spray gun until device is pressure less. Secure the trigger gun by pushing the safety catch towards the front.
DANGER
Danger of scalding on account of hot water. The water remaining in the switched off device can get heated up. When you remove the hose from the water inlet, the heated water can spray out and cause scalding. Do not remove the hose before the device has cooled down.
Storing the Appliance
Insert the hand-spray gun in the holder. Wind up the high-pressure hose and hang it over the hose storage.
Wind up the high-pressure hose on the hose drum. Push in the handle of the crank to block the hose drum.
Wind the connection cable around the cable holder.
Frost protection
ATTENTION
Frost will destroy the not completely water drained device.
Store the appliance in a frost free area.
If you cannot store it in a frost-free place:
Emptying the detergent tank (see "Care and Maintenance/ as required"). Drain water. Pump in conventional frost protection agents through the appliance.
Note:
Use normal glycol-based anti-freezing agents for automobiles.
Observe handling instructions of the antifreeze agent manufacturer.
Operate device for max. 1 minute until the pump and conduits are empty.
Transport
CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Mind the weight of the appliance during transport.
ATTENTION
Protect the trigger from damage during transport.
Pull the device behind you at the handle for transporting it over longer distances. Empty the detergent tank before transporting in horizontal position. When transporting in vehicles, secure the appliance according to the guidelines from slipping and tipping over.
Storage
CAUTION
Risk of personal injury or damage! Consider the weight of the appliance when storing it. This appliance must only be stored in interior rooms.
Care and maintenance
DANGER
Risk of injury by inadvertent startup of appliance and electrical shock.
Prior to all work on the appliance, switch off the appliance and pull the power plug.
Note:
Used oil must only be disposed of by the designated collection points. Please turn in used oil there. Polluting the environment with used oil is prosecutable.
Safety inspection/ maintenance contract
You can sign a contract with your dealer for regular safety inspections or even a maintenance contract. Please seek advice on this matter.
Before each use
Check the connection cable for damage (risk of electric shock); have a damaged connection cable replaced immediately by an authorized customer service technician or electrician. Check the high-pressure hose for damage (risk of bursting).
Arrange for the immediate replacement of a damaged high-pressure hose.
- Check the appliance (pump) for leaks. Up to 3 drops per minute are permissible and may come from the lower side of the appliance. Contact Customer Service if there is heavy leakage.
Weekly
Check the oil level. Contact Customer Service immediately if the oil appears milky (water in oil). Clean the fine filter. Depressurize the appliance. Unscrew the fastening screws of the device hood; remove the device hood. Unscrew the lid with the filter. Clean the filter with clean water or compressed air. Reinstall in reverse order. Clean the filter at the detergent suction hose.
Every 500 operating hours, at least annually
Have the device serviced by customer service. Change the oil.
Oil change
Note:
See "Specifications" for oil volume and type. Unscrew the fastening screws of the device hood; remove the device hood.
Turn out the oil drain screw at the front of the motor casing. Drain the oil into a collection basin. Screw in the oil drain screw. Slowly fill in new oil; air bubbles should escape. Attach the lid of the oil container. Fasten the device hood.
If required
Empty and clean the detergent tank. Pull out the locking cap for the detergent tank along with the suction hose. Lay the device on its back. Empty and clean the detergent tank.
Troubleshooting
△DANGER
Risk of injury by inadvertent startup of appliance and electrical shock.
- Prior to all work on the appliance, switch off the appliance and pull the power plug.
- Get the electrical components checked and repaired only by authorised customer service persons.
- Contact an authorised customer service person in case of problems not mentioned in this chapter or if you are in doubt or when you have been explicitly asked to do so.
Indicator lamp
The indicator lamps display the operating states (green) and interruptions (red).
Reset:
Set the appliance switch to "0". Wait for a while. Set the appliance switch to "l".
Operating status display
- Continuous green:
The appliance is now ready for operation.
- blinks green once:
Operational readiness has expired after 30 minutes.
The appliance has switched off after 30 minutes of continuous operation (safety if the high pressure hose bursts).
Fault indication
- blinks red once:
High-pressure side is leaky.
Check high pressure hose, hose connections and hand spray gun for leaks.
- blinks red twice:
Engine is too hot.
Set the appliance switch to "0".
Allow device to cool down.
Set the appliance switch to "I".
- blinks red thrice:
Fault in the voltage supply.
Check main connections and mains fuse.
- blinks red four times:
Excessive power consumption.
Call Customer Service.
Appliance is not running
The operational readiness period has expired. The indicator lamp is blinking green. Switch the device switch off and on again. Check the connection cable for damages. Call Customer Service in case of electrical defects.
Pressure does not build up in the appliance
Set the nozzle to "High pressure". Clean or replace the nozzle. Clean the fine filter; replace it if necessary. Deaerate the appliance (see "Start-up"). Check the water supply level (refer to technical data). Check all inlet pipes to the pump. Contact Customer Service if needed.
Pump leaky
Three drops per minute are permitted and can come out from the lower side of the appliance. Call Customer Service if there is heavy leakage. With stronger leakage, have the device checked by customer service.
Pump is vibrating
Check the suction pipes for water and detergent and ensure that they are leakproof. Deaerate the appliance (see "Start-up"). Clean the fine filter. Contact Customer Service if needed.
Detergent is not getting sucked in
Replace the high-pressure nozzle with the included low-pressure nozzle. Check and clean the detergent suction hose with filter. Clean or replace the backflow valve in the connection of the detergent suction hose. Open or check and clean the detergent dosing valve. Clean the deaerating hole of the detergent tank in the casing. Contact Customer Service if needed.

Symbols on the device

High-pressure jet
If used incorrectly, it poses a danger. It is forbidden to direct the jet at people, animals, live electrical equipment, or the device itself.
According to current regulations, operation without a system separator is prohibited.

The device may only be connected to a separating system that complies with the KARCHER separating system or an equivalent separating system that complies with EN 12729 type BA.
Water that has passed through the separating system is considered to be non-potable water.
CAUTION
The separating system must be located in the water supply system. It is not permitted to connect directly to the device.
Intended use
Use this high-pressure cleaner exclusively
- For cleaning with low-pressure jets and cleaning agents (e.g., cleaning equipment, vehicles, buildings, tools), - For cleaning with high-pressure jets without cleaning agents (e.g., cleaning facades, terraces, garden equipment).
For stubborn dirt, we recommend using a dirt grinder as additional equipment.
Water quality requirements: ATTENTION
Only clean water may be used as the high-pressure medium. Contamination will lead to premature wear of the device or to deposits in it.
If water is recycled, the following limit values must not be exceeded.

Electrical connection
DANGER
Danger of injury from electric shock.
- The appliance must be connected to the mains via a plug. A permanent connection to the mains is prohibited. The plug serves to disconnect from the mains.
- The appliance should only be connected to an alternating current supply. The minimum fuse protection for the socket (see the "Technical data" section).
- Exceeding the maximum permissible total resistance of the supply at the point of electrical connection (see the "Technical data" section) is not allowed. If you do not know the value of the total resistance of the supply at the point of electrical connection, contact your power supply company.
- Use an extension cord of sufficient diameter (see the "Technical data" section) and fully unwind it from the reel.
The connection parameters are indicated on the rating plate and in the "Technical data" section.
Unwind the mains cable and lay it on the floor. Insert the mains plug into the socket.
Water connection
Water supply hose
WARNING
Follow the regulations of the water supply company.
According to current regulations, the appliance must not be operated without a system separator.

The water pipe with drinking water. A suitable system separator from KARCHER or an alternative system separator conforming to EN 12729 type BA must be used.
Water that has passed through a system separator is considered non-potable.
The connection parameters are indicated in the "Technical data" section.
Ready time
The device switches to standby mode by opening the spray gun. The green control lamp lights up. The standby time expires if the spray gun remains closed for 30 minutes. The green control lamp.
Reset the standby time display.
Set the device switch to position "0". Wait a moment. Set the device switch to position "1".
The device can be set by the service department to continuous operation mode.
Switching off the device
Close the water tap. Open the spray gun. Switch on the pump using the device switch and let it run for 5-10 seconds. Close the spray gun. Set the switch to position "0/OFF". Pull the mains plug out of the socket only with dry hands. Disconnect the water supply. Open the spray gun until the device is relieved of pressure. Secure the spray gun by moving the safety catch forward.
DANGER
Danger of scalding from hot water. Residual water inside a switched-off device can heat up. When disconnecting the device from the water source, hot water may spray out, which can lead to burns. Disconnect the device only after it has cooled down.
Storing the device
Insert the spray gun into the holder. Wind up the high-pressure hose and hang it over the hose hook. To wind the high-pressure hose onto the drum, hold the handle to lock the drum. Wrap the connection cable around the cable holder.
Protection against freezing
ATTENTION
Frost destroys the device if water is not completely removed from it.
The device should be stored in a frost-protected location.
If storage in a frost-protected location is not possible:
Follow the instructions for using the antifreeze. Leave the device switched on for no more than 1 minute until the pump and pipelines are filled.
Transportation
CAUTION
Danger of damage!
Pay attention to all parts of the device during transportation.
NOTE
During transportation, ensure protection of the trigger from damage.
Red indicator flashes 2 times:
Battery is low.
Set the device switch to the "0" position.
Let the device cool down.
Set the device switch to the "I" position.
Red indicator flashes 3 times:
Fault in the electrical supply.
Check the connection of the power supply and the fuse.
The indicator lamp flashes 4 times:
Power consumption is too high.
Contact customer service.
The device does not work
The ready mode time has expired. The green control lamp is lit. Switch the device on and off again. → Check the cable connections for damage. → In case of electrical faults, contact customer service.
The metering device does not suck in
Replace the high-pressure nozzle with the low-pressure nozzle supplied. → Check/clean the suction hose of the detergent with filter. → Repair/replace the non-return valve in the connection of the suction hose of the detergent. Open or check/clean the detergent dosing valve. Clean the ventilation opening of the detergent tank in the device housing. → If necessary, contact customer service.

Pressure equipment must be checked regularly, and the results of the check must be recorded. -The device/accessories must not be modified.

Symbols on the device

The strong jets can be dangerous if used incorrectly. Do not direct the jet at people, animals, live electrical equipment, or at the device itself.
Connect the separating system
The device must never be operated without a separating system connected to the water supply.
For drinking water. A system separator from KARCHER must be used, or alternatively a system separator according to EN 12729 type BA.
Water that has passed through the system separator is considered non-potable.
SAFETY DEVICES
Connect the system separator to the water supply, never directly to the device.
Intended use
Use only the device for high-pressure cleaning
- for cleaning with high-pressure jets without cleaning agents (e.g., cleaning machines, vehicles, buildings, tools), - for cleaning with high-pressure jets with cleaning agents (e.g., facades, terraces, garden equipment).
For stubborn dirt, use the appropriate accessory as a special attachment.
Quality of the water: attention
The device is designed for high-pressure cleaning with clean water. The water must be pre-filtered or treated before use.
If recycled water is used, the following limit values must not be exceeded.

Accessories
The accessories must be connected or disconnected only when the device is switched off.
Pressure relief valve and pressure switch
When the water quantity decreases, the pressure switch/quantity regulator opens the pressure relief valve and part of the water flows back to the suction side of the pump.
If the trigger gun is released for a short pause, the pressure switch switches off the pump, and the water flow stops under high pressure. If the trigger gun is pressed again, the pump switches on again.
The pressure relief valve and pressure switch are factory-set and sealed. Adjustment only in the service center.

Commissioning
Unpacking
- Check the packaging for damage during unpacking. - In case of transport damage, immediately inform the dealer.
Check the oil level
The oil level indicator should be checked when the device is at rest. The oil level must be above the arrow.
Activate the ventilation through the oil reservoir
→ Unscrew the cap of the hose, remove the hose. → Disconnect the top of the oil reservoir hose. → Secure the hose.
Mount the spray lance for low pressure, required for spraying, nozzle
Note: The EASY!Lock system connects components with a high-efficiency thread, only one turn - fast and secure.

→ Place the nozzle for high pressure onto the spray lance. → Mount the spray lance and tighten by hand (EASY!Lock).
→ Insert the spray lance with the low-pressure nozzle and tighten firmly by hand (EASY!Lock).
Mount the accessories
For devices without a marking drum:
→ Insert the marking for high pressure with the low-pressure nozzle and the high-pressure outlet on the device and tighten firmly by hand (EASY!Lock). → Fix the holder in the side opening.
For devices with a marking drum:
The handle must be inserted into the drum valve and fixed. The marking for high pressure must be in the extended position before winding. → The marking for high pressure must be wound with the handle turning evenly on the drum. The direction of rotation must be chosen so that the marking for high pressure does not twist. → Insert the high-pressure outlet with the low-pressure nozzle and tighten firmly by hand (EASY!Lock).
Commissioning
DANGER
Danger of injury! The device, accessories, supply cables, marking for high pressure and connections must be in perfect condition. If the device is not in perfect condition, its use is prohibited.
Electrical connection
Warning: Risk of electric shock.
- The appliance must be connected to the mains socket with a protective earth connection. Do not remove the connection to the mains.
The plug is used for disconnection from the mains.
- The appliance must be connected to the mains. Minimum contact gap (see technical data). Do not exceed the maximum permissible mains voltage for connection (see technical data). If in doubt about the type of your mains supply for connection, contact your electricity supplier. - Use an extension cable with sufficient cross-section (see "Technical data") and unwind it fully from the cable drum.
For connection parameters, see the table of the device/technical parameters.
Unwind the protective cable and place it on the floor. Connect the plug to the socket.
Frost protection
Protection against freezing
ATTENTION
If the appliance freezes without being completely drained of water, it will be damaged. The appliance must be stored in a place where it cannot freeze.
If storage protected against freezing is not possible:
→ Drain the tank for pumping preparations (see "Draining/If necessary" → Let the water run out. The appliance must be filled with conventional antifreeze.
Note:
Use conventional antifreeze for cars on a water basis. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for the antifreeze. → The appliance must be left to run for max. 1 minute until the pump and pipes are drained.
Transport
CAUTION
Danger of injury and damage! When transporting, keep the device in mind.
ATTENTION
When transporting, place the device on the stand from the middle.
For transport of larger units, the device must be secured to the frame. → Before transport, empty the fuel tank for safety. → For transport in a vehicle, secure the device according to the applicable regulations against slipping and tipping.
Storage
CAUTION
Danger of injury and damage! When storing, keep the device in mind.
Storage of this device is only permitted indoors.
Maintenance and Repair
DANGER
Danger of injury and damage. Do not intentionally damage the device and avoid electric shock.
Before any work on the device, it must be disconnected and checked.
Note:
It is forbidden to pour old oil into the environment. It is allowed only at designated collection points. The old oil obtained there must be handed in. Mixing used oil with old oils is punishable.
Safety inspection / Maintenance contract
You can arrange a safety inspection with your dealer or conclude a maintenance contract. Ask for advice.
Before commissioning
→ Check the device for damage (danger from electric shock). Damaged power cables must be replaced immediately by authorized service/electrician. → Check the label for operation before starting for damage (danger of leakage). Replace the label for operation before starting if necessary. → The device (pump) must be checked for tightness.
A few drops of water per minute are permissible and may escape from the bottom side of the device. In case of stronger leaks, contact service.
Maintenance
→ Check the oil condition. If the oil is milky (water in oil), contact service. → Clean the fine filter. Leave the device without pressure.
Unscrew the locking screw on the device cover, remove the device cover. Remove the cover with the filter. Clean the filter with clean water or compressed air. Mount in reverse order. Clean the filter on the suction side. Mark the cleaning agent.
Every 500 operating hours, at least annually
→ Contact service for device maintenance. → Change the oil.
Oil change
Note:
The quantity and type of oil can be found in the "Technical Data".
→ Unscrew the locking screw on the device cover, remove the device cover. Unscrew the oil drain screw on the motor housing. → Drain the oil into a suitable container. → Screw in the oil drain screw. Carefully fill in new oil; the air vent must be open. → Put the cover on the oil reservoir. → Screw on the device cover.
Then rinse and fill the reservoir for rinsing the preparation.
Close the drain valve of the rinsing preparation reservoir for rinsing.
Then place the strainer.
Then rinse and fill the reservoir for rinsing the preparation.
Help for malfunctions
DANGER
Danger of injury due to unintentional start-up and electric shock.
- Before any work, switch off and disconnect the device.
- The electrical components must be checked and repaired only by authorized service.
- For repairs not described in this chapter, in case of doubt, and upon explicit instruction, contact authorized service.
Control lamp
The control lamp indicates proper operation (green) and malfunction (red).
Operation:
Set the switch to "0". Then wait briefly. Set the switch to "I".
Indication of emergency condition
- Constant green light:
Device ready for operation
-1 flashing green:
Readiness for operation lasts for 30 minutes.
The device switches off after 30 minutes of continuous operation (safety when marking work under high voltage).
Indication of damage
-1 flashing red:
High voltage side is not tight.
High voltage marking, connections of the marking device and the pistol for manual spraying must be checked for tightness.
-2 flashing red:
Set the device switch to "0"
and let it cool down.
Set the device switch to "I".
-3 flashing red:
Check the water supply.
Check the connection to the device and the device's fuses.
The device does not start:
The current consumption is too high. Contact service.
The device does not work.
The ready time has expired. The control lamp is not green. Switch the device off and on again. → Check the device's connections for damage. → In case of electrical defect, contact service.
The device does not reach the pressure
→ Set the pressure to "High pressure". → The pressure must be checked/changed. → Check the filter, replace if necessary. → De-energize the device (see "Starting up"). → Check the water flow rate for supply (see Technical data). → Check all supply pipes to the pump. → If necessary, contact service.
Leaking pump
If more than 3 liters of water per minute are leaking from the pump side of the device, contact service.
→ If the pump leaks more, have it checked by service.
The pump is noisy
→ The detergent suction hoses must be checked for leaks. → De-energize the device (see "Starting up"). → Check the filter. → If necessary, contact service.
Detergent is not being drawn in
Replace the high-pressure nozzle with the low-pressure nozzle supplied with the device. → Check/clean the suction hose for detergent with filter. → The return valve in the suction hose coupling must be checked/changed. → Open the dosing valve for detergent and check/clean it. → Clean the opening for de-aerating the detergent reservoir in the housing. → If necessary, contact service.

Do not direct the jet at people, animals, live electrical equipment, or at the device itself.
According to the directives, the device must be connected to the drinking water supply system with a backflow preventer.

Use suitable backflow preventers from KARCHER or alternative backflow preventers according to EN 12729 type BA.
Water that has flowed through the backflow preventer is considered non-potable.
ATTENTION
Backflow preventers must be installed in the water supply system; do not connect it directly to the device.
Proper use
Use only the device for high-pressure cleaning with a suitable cleaning agent (e.g., for cleaning machines, vehicles, buildings, tools).
Cleaning with high-pressure water jet without using any cleaning agent (e.g., for cleaning facades, terraces, garden equipment).

Before starting work
Unpacking
When unpacking, check the contents for completeness. If damage is found during transport, notify the dealer immediately.
Check the oil level
Place the device on a level surface. The oil level must be above the lower mark.
Open the ventilation screw of the oil reservoir
Unscrew the cover screws of the device cover, remove the cover. Remove the oil reservoir cap. Then close the device cover.
Installing the spray gun, spray lance, and nozzle
Note: The EASY!Lock system with quick-release threaded connections allows components to be connected quickly and securely with a quarter turn.

Install the high-pressure nozzle on the spray lance. Insert the spray lance into the gun and tighten the union nut (EASY!Lock). Connect the spray lance to the spray gun and tighten the union nut (EASY!Lock).
Install the spare parts
For devices without a hose reel:
Connect the high-pressure hose to the spray gun and the high-pressure connection of the device, and tighten the union nut (EASY!Lock). Insert the cable holder into the opening on the handle.

Insert and fix the handle into the drum shaft of the hose. → Check the high-pressure hose for kinks. → Wind the high-pressure hose onto the drum for the handle, turning evenly. Choose the direction of rotation so that the high-pressure hose does not kink. Connect the high-pressure hose to the spray gun and the trigger (EASY!Lock).
Commissioning
DANGER
Danger of injury! The device, accessories, and connected elements must be in perfect condition. If the condition is faulty, the device must not be used.
Electrical connection
DANGER
Danger from electric current.
- The device must only be connected to an electrical mains via a socket. It is forbidden to disconnect the connection from the power source. The socket is intended for disconnecting from the mains.
- The device must only be connected to an alternating current source. Minimum fuse of the socket (see Technical Data).
It is forbidden to exceed the permissible total resistance at the connection point to the mains (see Technical Data). In case you do not know the total resistance at the mains connection point, contact the power supply company. Use a connection cable of sufficient diameter (see section "Technical Data") and fully unroll it from the reel.
Power consumption. See the nameplate/ in the Technical Data.
→ Unroll the mains cable and lay it on the floor. Insert the mains plug into the socket of the device.
Water supply
Recommended cleaning method
→ Point the nozzle at the surface to be cleaned and rinse (do not spray). Direct the brush with the water jet under pressure. → Immerse the filter in clean water. Set the regulator to the maximum concentration of the product. Start the device and rinse for one minute.
Stop the pump
Close the gun of the spray lance. The device switches off. Lock the spray lance by moving the safety catch forward.
Rinsing:
Unlock the spray lance by moving the safety catch back. Open the gun of the spray lance. The device switches on again.
Standby mode
The device starts working after opening the spray lance. The green control indicator lights up.
The device switches to standby if the spray lance is not opened within 30 minutes. The green control indicator lights up.
Reset standby mode
Set the device switch to "0". → Wait a moment. Set the switch back to "I".
The device can be put into operation by the service department for three-phase operation.
Switch off the device
Close the water tap. → Open the gun of the spray lance. → Switch on the pump using the device switch and let it run for 5-10 seconds. → Close the gun of the spray lance. Set the switch to "0/OFF". → Pull the mains plug out of the socket only with dry hands. Water supply is disconnected. Start the spray lance until no more pressure remains. Lock the spray lance by moving the safety catch forward.
DANGER
Danger of hot water. If the water is heated, it may accumulate in the switched-off device. Heated water may spray out when the device is switched on and water is supplied, which can lead to danger. Let the device cool down before switching it on.
After switching on, wait at least 1 minute until the pump and piping are drained.
Transportation
WARNING
Danger of injury or damage! When transporting, pay attention to the device's weight.
CAUTION
During transportation, protect the drain valve against damage.
→When transporting over long distances, carry the device by the handle. →Before horizontal transport, empty the tank for this purpose. →When transporting the device in transport vehicles, observe the local state regulations aimed at protecting against tipping and falling.
Storage
CAUTION
Danger of injury and damage! When storing, pay attention to the device weight.
This device must be stored indoors.
Maintenance and service
△DANGER
Danger of injury from accidentally started device and electric shock. Before performing any maintenance work on the device, switch it off and unplug the mains plug from the socket.
Note:
Old oil must be disposed of at the designated collection points. Please, hand in the used oil there. Disposal of old oil is the responsibility of the user.

You can contact your dealer for adjustments and maintenance or to sign a maintenance contract.

Before each use
→ Check the power cord for damage (danger of electric shock). A damaged cord must be replaced by a qualified service technician/electrician. → Check the high-pressure hose (risk of bursting). A damaged high-pressure hose must be replaced immediately. → Check the device (pump) for leaks.
A few drops of water may leak from the device. In case of major leaks, call the technical support service.
Every 10 hours
→ Check the oil level. If the oil has a milky consistency (water in the oil), contact the service department immediately. → Clean the fine filter. Check the pressure from the pump.
Unscrew the screws of the pump cover, remove the cover. Unscrew the hexagonal socket with the fine filter. Clean the filter with clean water or with compressed air. Reassemble in reverse order. Clean the filter with a suitable cleaning agent.
Every 500 hours of operation, at least once a year
→ Maintenance of the device may be carried out by the service department. Change the oil.
Oil change
Note:
Lubricant and oil filter. In the "Technical data" section, check the tightening torques for the filter and drain plug.
Unscrew each oil drain plug. Drain the oil from the container. → Tighten the oil drain plug. → Fill with new oil; the oil level should be at the upper mark. → Install the oil filler cap. → Close the device cover.
If necessary
Clean and rinse the detergent tank.
Remove the detergent tank cap with the built-in strainer.
Place the device on a flat surface.
Clean and rinse the detergent tank.
Troubleshooting
- Red indicator flashes 1 time: High-pressure side is not sealed. Check the high-pressure hose, connections, and fittings for leaks.
- Red indicator flashes 2 times: Overload. Set the device switch to "0". Then let the device cool down. Set the device switch to "I".
- Red indicator flashes 3 times: Voltage supply failure. Check the power connection and power supply.
- Red indicator flashes 4 times: Voltage too high. Contact technical support.
Device does not work
Standby mode. Green control indicator lights up. Switch on and off the switch. → Check the power cable for damage. → In case of electrical malfunctions, contact the service department.
Device does not work under pressure
Install the nozzle at high pressure. → Pour in / replace the cleaning agent. → Clean the fine filter, replace if necessary. → Vent the device (see "Commissioning"). → Check the water volume (see section "Technical data"). → Check all pipes and hoses leading to the pump. → If necessary, contact the service department.
Pump not tight
Water may drip from the tap for a few minutes and may appear on the outer surface of the device. If leakage increases, contact the technical service.
