provides 220-240V~50Hz.
4. Do not use the appliance in areas that contain explosive or
flammable gases, vapours and liquids or similar materials e.g., not in garages. In addition, do not use the appliance in places that have a risk of substance explosion. The insect killer could emit a spark that can ignite such materials!
5. Do not use the appliance in ‘wet’ rooms, such as swimming pools,
laundry rooms, bathrooms, etc. Never submerge the appliance in water or in any other liquid!
6. Do not place the appliance in an open window (due to rain), not on
a wet surface and prevent that any type of moisture is spilled on it.
7. Do not make any changes to the appliance; that can be dangerous
and it will invalidate the manufacturer’s warranty.
8. Make sure you never touch the high-voltage grid while it operates:
not with your fingers, a pen, a piece of paper or any other object. This can cause an electric shock and perhaps fire! Never stick any objects into the appliance through the safety grid.
9. Ensure careful supervision when the appliance is used in the
presence of children, incapacitated persons or pets. The appliance is not suitable for use by people (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities. It is also not suitable for use by people who lack knowledge and experience, regardless of whether there is supervision or instructions given (prior to use) by a person responsible for their safety.
10. You must supervise that children do not play with the appliance.
The grid is under high voltage!
11. Place the appliance out of children’s reach. Danger! High voltage!
12. Remove the plug from the socket before cleaning the appliance.
Use a suitable brush (not a metal brush) to clean the high-voltage grid and throw away the dead insects in the collection tray at least once a week.
13. If the appliance, cord or plug shows damage, switch off the
appliance immediately and remove the plug from the socket. Turn14
to your supplier or a certified electrician for repairing/replacing the part. Never carry out repairs yourself!
14. Remove the plug from the socket and switch off the insect-killer
immediately, if you hear strange noises, smell something or see smoke.
15. If the electric cable or the plug is damaged, it must by replaced by
a qualified person. Never carry out repairs yourself!
16. If the lamp, starter, fuse or any other part is defective or damaged,
it must be replaced by a qualified person. Never carry out repairs yourself. Operating principle The insect-killer is designed to attract flying insects, such as flies, moths, mosquitoes, etc. using ultraviolet light. As they fly towards with light, they fly into an electrified metal screen that electrocutes them. The device The insect-killer is highly efficient and safe. It is fitted with a safety switch so that should there be a short-circuit in the device, it will not blow your entire domestic electricity system, but just trip the insect-killer itself. The electrified screen is made from stainless steel. This material has been chosen so that there is only minimal crackling on electrocution and the insects neither combust nor is the material damaged. The special UV lamps are totally harmless to humans and pets. An external safety screen protects users from coming into unintentional contact with the electrified screen. The insect-killer uses no chemicals or sprays, does not emit smoke or odours, produces no waste and is environmentally friendly. The insect-killer is designed to be used indoors, in the home, in work areas, retail outlets, etc. Installation When placing and installing the insect-killer, it is important to take the location of the device in the room/space into account.
1. Place the insect-killer centrally in the room; that way, the ultraviolet light can be
dispersed better and attract insects from the entire area.
2. Place the insect-killer on a wall or in a corner if the room/area is not very large.
3. The best height for the insect-killer is 1.5 to 2 metres off the ground, which is
the most common flying height for insects.15
4. The insect-killer can be suspended from the chain or
placed on a surface such as a table or cabinet. Make sure it is on a good stable base.
5. Install your insect-killer in a relatively dark place: not
in direct sunlight (windows, doors), because bright sunlight weakens the insect-killer’s radiation power. Artificial light does not weaken the radiation, but makes it work less well.
6. Do not place the insect killer in the draft. Insects
avoid drafts / air flows. Placing the insect killer in the draft flow will therefore not be effective. Use and Maintenance Using Make sure that the power socket you intend using is earthed and the correct voltage (220-240V~50Hz). Start the insect-killer working by plugging the device in and then setting the ON/OFF switch (O/I) to ON (press in ‘I’). The insect-killer is operating. If desired, attractants can be poured or laid in the appropriate collection tray.
