How to prepare coffee with the Emerio CME127244 machine?

Fill the water tank with cold water (max. 1.25 L), add ground coffee to the reusable filter (about 1 spoon per 100 ml of water), place the filter holder, close the lid, put the carafe on the hot plate, plug in and press the switch. The coffee flows automatically.

What is the maximum capacity of the machine?

The water tank has a capacity of about 1.25 liters. The glass carafe can hold about 1 liter of brewed coffee (water is absorbed by the coffee).

Can I use regular ground coffee?

Yes, use filter-ground coffee in the reusable mesh filter. Adjust the amount to your taste.

How to clean the coffee machine?

Unplug it and let it cool down. The carafe and filter are dishwasher-safe or can be washed in warm soapy water. Wipe the exterior with a damp cloth. Never immerse the housing.

How to descale the machine?

Every 3 to 4 months, pour 400 ml of water with descaling agent (as per dosage) into the tank. Let it sit for 1 hour, then run the solution through. Then run fresh water through twice to rinse.

Why does the machine turn off after 40 minutes?

The automatic shut-off function cuts power after 40 minutes for safety reasons. You can restart it if needed, but wait 5 minutes before using it again.

Can I remove the carafe during brewing?

Yes, the drip-stop valve prevents coffee from dripping for 30 seconds when you remove the carafe. Replace it quickly to avoid overflow.

What to do if the glass carafe cracks?

Do not use a cracked carafe or damaged handle. Replace it with an original Emerio part. The warranty does not cover broken glass.

Can the machine be used unattended?

No, never leave the appliance unattended while it is operating. Unplug it after use.

What to do in case of malfunction?

Check that the appliance is properly plugged in. If the problem persists, contact Emerio customer service ([e-mail] or [phone]). Do not attempt to repair it yourself.

Before use make sure to read all of the below instructions in order to avoid injury or damage, and to get the best results from the appliance. Make sure to keep this manual in a safe place. If you give or transfer this appliance to someone else make sure to also include this manual. In case of damage caused by user failing to follow the instructions in this manual the warranty will be void. The manufacturer/importer accepts no liability for damages caused by failure to follow the manual, a negligent use or use not in accordance with the requirements of this manual.

1. This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and if they understand the hazards involved.
2. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
3. Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children aged less than 8 years.
4. Appliances can be used by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved.

OPERATION

Before first-time use:

• Before using this device for the first time please carefully rinse all detachable components with warm water.
• Fill the reservoir with cold water to the maximum water level indication.
• Afterwards brew water twice without coffee powder.

To percolate coffee:

1. Open the lid of the reservoir and fill the reservoir with cold water. Do not fill the water over the maximum level.
2. Use the measuring spoon to add proper coffee powder into the reusable mesh filter. Usually, we use 1 measuring spoon of coffee powder with about 100ml water, but you can adjust according to your own taste.
3. Place the reusable mesh filter with coffee power into the filter basket and place the filter basket into the brewing chamber. Make sure the filter basket is fitted properly, otherwise the lid cannot be closed.
4. Close the lid of reservoir, a click sound will be heard when the lid of reservoir is closed completely.
5. Insert the glass jug in place onto the warming plate horizontally, ensure the center hole in the glass jug lid aligns with the anti-drip valve.
6. Connect the mains plug to an appropriate wall outlet.
7. Start brewinging coffee by pressing the On/off button.
8. If you leave the appliance switched on, the warming plate will keep the coffee warm after finishing brewing. The whole working process will last 40 minutes. After 40 minutes the unit will be automatically shut off and stop working.
9. After use, turn off the appliance and disconnect the power supply.

Note:

• The brewing process can be interrupted by pressing on/off switch at any time. The appliance will continue brewing once the switch is pressed again.
  The appliance is designed with an Anti-drip function. You can temporarily remove the glass jug and pour out coffee during brewing cycle without coffee dripping from the appliance within 30 seconds.
• CAUTION! When pouring coffee from the glass jug, pour it slowly. Do not incline the glass jug suddenly in a large tilting angle, in case the hot coffee flow out from the lid rim and hurt people. Do not put an empty glass jar back on the hot warming tray.
  The coffee you get will less than the water you have added, as some water is absorbed by coffee powder. DO NOT touch lid, warming plate and so on when operating as they are very hot.
• Never leave the empty glass jug on the warming plate otherwise the glass jug is liable to crack.

CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Before cleaning remove the mains plug and let the device cool down.
- Never immerse the device in water. Please use a slightly damp cloth to clean the surfaces.
- Avoid using acid or scrubbing cleaning agents.
All detachable parts can be cleaned in warm soapy water. Rinse and dry.
- The glass jug and reusable mesh filter are dishwasher safe.

Descending:

• Regularly descale the coffee percolator. The intervals of descending depend on the water hardness and frequency of operation. In case of average water hardness we suggest descending every 3 or 4 months. Please use a commercially available decalcification agent.
• Fill 400ml of water into the reservoir and add the necessary amount of decalcification agent in accordance with the dosing instructions.
• Let the decalcification agent sink in the coffee percolator for about one hour. Switch on the unit after one hour and let the water pass through. After that you should brew water twice and rinse all detachable components, in order to clean off any residue.
