How to choose the right helmet size?

Measure the circumference of your head. The helmet should fit snugly without play, even with the chin strap open. The skin on your temples should move with the helmet. If too large or too small, choose another size.

How to adjust the chin strap?

Use the buckle to adjust the length. The strap divider clip allows adjusting the position. Make sure the straps do not cover your ears and the buckle does not rest on your chin. The helmet is properly adjusted if you can barely slide a finger under the chin strap.

How to adjust the helmet headband?

Turn the dial clockwise to tighten and counterclockwise to widen. The adjustment system allows adapting the shell to the head circumference.

How to change the LED light battery?

Set the adjustment system to middle position. Remove the dial and take off the small threaded wheel. Unscrew the three screws under the dial. Remove the battery compartment, replace the battery with a new CR2032 observing the polarity. Reassemble in reverse order.

How to turn the LED light on and off?

The On/Off button provides 4 modes: 1 press = continuous lighting, 2 presses = simultaneous flashing, 3 presses = alternate flashing, 4 presses = off.

What is the safety level of this helmet?

The helmet is certified according to EN 1078 and European directive 89/686/EWG. It protects the head during accidents, but must be replaced after an impact, even a minor one.

Can I use this helmet for cycling or motorcycling?

No, this helmet is designed for skateboarding, rollerblading, roller skates, and similar activities. It is not suitable for other sports or motorcycling.

How to clean the helmet?

Use a diluted pH-neutral detergent in clean water and a soft cloth. For the interior padding, hand wash at ≤30°C with a little soap and a soft brush. Air dry. Never use solvents.

What is the lifespan of the helmet?

The helmet must be replaced at the latest 5 years after the manufacturing date (indicated on the product, e.g., 01/2017). After an accident, replace it immediately.

Important information

Please read the following instructions and information carefully before using your new helmet for the first time. This helmet was developed for use with skateboards, inline skates, roller skates and similar groups, and manufactured according to state of the art. Despite maximum safety standards, serious accidents may result in injuries. In some cases, the impact may be so strong the helmet does not effectively protect the rider from head injuries.

Compliance with the requirements according to Annex II of European Directive 89/686/EEC (and subsequent amendments) as well as those of harmonizing technical standard EN 1078 was certified by the issuing authority TÜV Rheinland LGA Products GmbH, Tillystr. 2, D-90431 Nürnberg, Germany, Notified Body No 0197.

Correct use

This article is made for skateboarders, inline skaters, rollerbladers, and similar groups. It is not suitable for other sports or for motorcyclists.

Safety notices

• This helmet should not be used by children for climbing or other activities where there is a risk of strangulation or of catching should the child get caught with the helmet.
• The helmet must fit snugly and the chin strap must be securely fastened.
• Do not push the helmet to the back of your neck as this means that your forehead is not protected.
• Do not wear any head cover under the helmet.
• Please ensure that air continues to circulate.

• No modifications may be made to the helmet, its structure, or individual components.

• The helmet may not be painted and/or decorated with stickers or labels.

• The protective effect of the helmet can be seriously impaired by the effects of paints, stickers, cleaning fluids, or other solvents.
• The helmet should protect your head in the event of an impact. This protection is no longer provided even after a single impact (even if it is light). Therefore the helmet must be replaced immediately after an accident even if there is no visible damage.
• Never use solvents or scouring agents that contain petroleum to clean the helmet, either on the outside or the inside. Always use a detergent that is pH neutral and diluted with clear water; rub the article carefully with a soft cloth. Then wipe it dry with a lint-free cloth. The padding can be cleaned with a little soap and a soft brush.
• Only use original replacement parts for your helmet.
• The LED light is not a safety aid and on no account replaces the specific devices that are compulsory in accordance with traffic regulations.
• The lifespan of the article depends on its use. However the article must be replaced five years after the date of manufacture (version: 01/2017) at the latest.

Warning notes for batteries

• Only use batteries from the same manufacturer and of the same type.
• Remove the battery if it is dead or if the product is not used for a long period. (See the disposal measures on page 14).
• Warning! Batteries may not be charged or reactivated by other means and may not be dismantled, thrown in the fire, or short-circuited.

• Always store the batteries out of the reach of children.

• Non-rechargeable batteries may not be recharged.

- Rechargeable batteries may only be charged with adult supervision.

- Rechargeable batteries must be removed from the article before they are charged.

- The terminal clamps may not be short-circuited. Danger!

- Please handle a damaged or dead battery with extreme care and dispose of it correctly, wearing gloves.

- If you come into contact with battery acid then wash the relevant area with water and soap. If battery acid gets in your eyes rinse it out using water and consult a doctor immediately!

- Cleaning and user-maintenance may not be carried out by children without supervision.

- Batteries may not be swallowed!

Changing the battery

CAUTION! Follow these instructions in order to avoid mechanical and electrical damage.

Danger!

The article contains a battery.

If the battery stops working it can be changed.

1. Set the size adjustment system to a medium size. Pull the rotary knob out of the size adjustment system and remove the small thread wheel.

2. Loosen the three screws under the rotary knob using a suitable screwdriver (not included in the scope of delivery) (figure E). Remove the base and take the battery compartment out. Carefully remove the empty battery from the battery holder (figure F).

3. Exchange it for a new battery.

Note: Pay attention to the plus and minus poles on the battery and that it is inserted correctly. The battery must be fitted entirely inside the battery holder.
4. Replace the battery holder in the rotary knob. Replace the base and tighten the three screws. Place the thread wheel on the rotary knob as shown. Please ensure that the three pins on the rotary knob are positioned in the slots on the thread wheel (figure G). Insert the rotary knob back on the size adjustment system.

Important: When you insert the rotary knob please ensure that the size adjustment system is set to a medium size as it is not possible to re-attach the rotary knob otherwise (figure G).

Switching the light on and off (figure A)

Different light settings are available to you if you press on the on and off button (4):

Press once: lights on

Press twice: lights flash at the same time

Press three times: lights flash alternately

Press four times: lights off

The helmet liner contains a biocide agent (PURE TF by HeiQ®) for an anti-bacterial, odour-inhibiting lining treatment. Active ingredient: silver adsorbed to silicon dioxide (nano).

Selecting the helmet size

• Measure the size of your head and select the appropriate size. Try several helmets on before making your decision. The size is ideal if the skin on your temples moves with the article when you are wearing the helmet.
• Please ensure that the helmet does not move freely on your head, even without tightening the chin strap.
• The chin strap must be securely closed to ensure a secure fit. The fit is correct if it is difficult to insert your finger under the chin strap. However you must always be able to breathe, swallow, and turn your head comfortably.
• The helmet fits correctly if it is snug but still comfortable on your head. Do not push the helmet towards the back of your neck as this means that your forehead will not be protected (figure B).
• If the helmet is too big (it is loose and cannot be adjusted tightly enough) or too small (presses on your head, leaves your forehead free), please choose the next smallest or biggest size.
• If it is not possible to adjust the helmet correctly then you may not use it.

Adjusting the chin strap (figure C)

The general length of the chin strap can be adjusted with the loop. You may also use the strap divider clip to adjust the length of the chin strap.

Please ensure that the strap divider does not bother you, the straps do not cover your ears, and the fastener does not rest on your chin.

Adjusting the headband size (figure D)

Use the continuously adjustable rotary knob to fit your helmet to your head circumference to ensure the optimum fit. Turn the knob to the right to make the helmet headband smaller and to the left to enlarge the headband.

Regular maintenance and care contribute to the safety and durability of the helmet.

Notes on disposal

Dispose of the article and the packaging materials in accordance with current local regulations. Packaging materials such as foil bags are not suitable to be given to children. Keep the packaging materials out of the reach of children.

Devices that are marked with this symbol may not be disposed of with domestic waste. You are obliged to dispose of used electrical and electronic devices separately. Please ask your authority about the facilities for correct disposal. Remove the ry from the article before disposing of it.

Disposal measures for batteries

Please note: As batteries are hazardous waste they may not be disposed of with domestic waste by law. You can hand over used batteries to local authority collection points or at your retailer free of charge. Special collection containers are available there for this purpose.

The product was produced with great care and under constant supervision. You receive a three-year warranty for this product from the date of purchase. Please retain your receipt.

The warranty applies only to material and workmanship and does not apply to misuse or improper handling. Your statutory rights, especially the warranty rights, are not affected by this warranty.
