Introduction Information about these operating instructions Congratulations on the purchase of your new appliance. You have selected a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information about safety, usage and disposal. Before using the prod- uct, please familiarise yourself with all operating and safety instructions. Use the product only as described and for the range of applications specified. Please pass on all documentation incl. these operating instructions to any future owner(s) if you sell this product or give it away. Copyright This documentation is protected by copyright. Any copying or reproduction, including extracts thereof, and the reproduction of images (even in a modified state), is only permitted with the written authorisation of the manufacturer. Intended use This appliance is designed for the removal of stains and discolouration from the surface of the teeth. The appliance is not intended for use in commercial or industrial environments. The manufacturer accepts no responsibility for damage caused by failure to observe these instructions, improper use or repairs, unauthorised modifications or the use of unapproved replacement parts. 15 ■ Basic safety instructions To ensure safe operation of the appliance, follow the safety guidelines set out below: ■ Check the appliance for visible external damage before use. Do not use an appliance that has been damaged or dropped. ■ Cleaning and user maintenance should not be performed by children unless they are under supervision. ■ Tooth polishers may be used by children and people with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and/or knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed how to use the appliance safely and have understood the potential risks. ■ Do not allow children to use the appliance as a toy. ■ Do not allow children to play with packaging materials. There is a risk of suffocation. ■ The polishing caps and the interdental cleaner attachment ! must not be swallowed or inhaled. If this does happen, however, contact a doctor immediately. ■ All repairs must be carried out by authorised specialist compa- nies or by the Customer Service department. Improper repairs may put the user at risk. It will also invalidate any warranty claims. The hand element may not be disassembled by the user. ■ Repairs to the appliance during the warranty period may only be carried out by a customer service department authorised by the manufacturer. Otherwise, no warranty claims will be held for any subsequent damages. ■ Defective components must always be replaced with original replacement parts. Compliance with safety requirements can only be guaranteed if original replacement parts are used. ■ Do not place any objects on the appliance.NZPS 3 A1 ■ 16
Never operate the appliance in the direct vicinity of open flames (e.g. candles) or in extreme environmental conditions (e.g. in an explosive atmosphere). ■ If you notice any unusual noises, smoke or similar unusual situations, remove the batteries and disconnect any attached mains adapter from the power supply and contact Customer Service (see section "Service"). ■ This appliance is not suitable for children under the age of 3 years as it contains small parts and there is a danger of swallowing. ■ The appliance and accessories may only be used by one person. ■ Do not use the appliance on milk teeth. Information on using batteries CAUTION
Do not throw batteries into a fire. ► Never short-circuit batteries. ► Do not attempt to recharge the batteries. ► Check the condition of the battery regularly. Leaking battery acid can cause permanent damage to the appliance. CAUTION
Store batteries out of reach of children. If a battery is swallowed, seek medical attention immediately. ► If you do not intend to use the appliance for a long time, remove the battery. ► Special care should be taken when handling damaged or leaking batteries. The product includes the following components: ● Tooth polisher ● 2×1.5V batteries ● 4 polishing caps ● Dental mirror ● Interdental cleaner ● Plaque remover ● Stain remover ● Operating instructions NOTE ► Check the package for completeness and signs of visible damage. ► If the delivery is incomplete or damage has occurred as a result of defective packaging or during transport, contact the Service hotline (see section Service). ♦ Remove all parts of the appliance and the operating instructions from the carton. ♦ Remove all packaging material.NZPS 3 A1 ■ 18
Power supply ♦ Use two 1.5V batteries - to operate the appliance. To insert the supplied batteries - proceed as follows:
1) Carefully twist the housing anticlockwise off the hand element and place it to one
2) Insert the batteries -. Pay heed to the correct polarity markings given on the housing .
3) Push the housing back onto the hand element .Turn the housing clockwise to
tighten it. NOTE ► If the polishing effect diminishes, the batteries - must be replaced. Handling and use This section provides important information about proper handling and operation of the appliance. Attaching the polishing cap ♦ Place the shaft of the polishing cap onto the attachment thread . Turn the polishing cap clockwise while pressing down the catch to tighten it. Removing the polishing cap NOTE ► Remove the polishing cap when it no longer delivers the required polishing result. ♦ Press down the catch while turning the polishing cap anticlockwise. Polishing teeth NOTE ► We recommend using the appliance in front of a mirror so that you can guide the ap- pliance more confidently and avoid injuring your gums. ► It is normally sufficient to use the appliance twice a week. Use of the appliance does not replace daily brushing with a toothbrush. ► Do not use appliance on your gums.
1) Add a little standard commercial toothpaste or a special polishing toothpaste to the
polishing cap . Use the polishing cap to spread the toothpaste onto the area to be polished.
2) Press the operating button
. The polishing cap starts moving.
3) Move the appliance in a circular motion up and down to polish the tooth. Polish each
tooth for approx. 20–30 seconds.
4) Release the operating button
when you want to stop cleaning. The appliance stops.NZPS 3 A1
Never apply force when using the appliance. If you experience discomfort during one polishing phase, move on to a different area. Using the accessories NOTE ► Do not use the accessories on your gums. Dental mirror Use the dental mirror to discover stains or plaque in hard-to-reach areas. Preferably, use the dental mirror in combination with the appliance and the other accessories. Interdental cleaner Use the interdental cleaner to remove contamination from between the teeth.
1) Guide the tip of the interdental cleaner into the interdental space you want to clean
from the outside. As the tip is long enough, you do not need to clean the interdental spaces from the behind as well.
2) Move the interdental cleaner back and forth to clean the entire side surface of the
neighbouring teeth. Plaque and stain remover Use the plaque remover and the stain remover to remove stains and plaque from the teeth.
1) Remove the protective cap.
2) Guide the tip of the plaque remover or the stain remover onto the affected area.
Start with the part of the tooth closest to your gums. Now guide the tip towards to end of the tooth. Repeat the process until the plaque or stain has been successfully removed.
Cleaning CAUTION Damage to the appliance! ► To avoid irreparable damage, ensure that no moisture penetrates the appliance during cleaning. ■ Clean the surfaces of the appliance and the accessories with a damp cloth moistened with a standard commercial denture cleaning fluid. ■ To clean the polishing cap , remove it as described in the section "Removing the polish- ing cap". Rinse the polishing cap under running water. Allow the polishing cap to dry before screwing it back onto theattachment thread . We recommend cleaning the polishing caps in a standard commercial denture cleaning fluid every 2–4 weeks. Storage/disposal Storage If you plan not to use the appliance for a long period, store it in a clean, dry place away from direct sunlight. preferably in the travelling case 3. Disposal of the appliance Never dispose of the appliance in your normal domestic waste. This product is subject to the provisions of European Directive 2012/19/EU. Dispose of the appliance through an approved disposal facility or your municipal waste facility. Please comply with all applicable regulations. Please contact your waste disposal centre if you are in any doubt. Disposal of (rechargeable) batteries Used batteries must not be disposed of in the household waste. Consumers are legally obliged to dispose of (rechargeable) batteries at a collection point in their community/city district or at a retail store. The purpose of this requirement is to ensure that batteries are disposed of in an environmentally friendly manner. Only dispose of batteries when they are fully discharged. Disposal of packaging The packaging is made of environmentally friendly materials which you can dispose of at your local recycling centre.NZPS 3 A1

If this product has any faults, you, the buyer, have certain statutory rights. Your statutory rights are not restricted in any way by the warranty described below. Warranty conditions The validity period of the warranty starts from the date of purchase. Please keep your original receipt in a safe place. This document will be required as proof of purchase. If any material or production fault occurs within three years of the date of purchase of the prod- uct, we will either repair or replace the product for you at our discretion. This warranty service is dependent on you presenting the defective appliance and the proof of purchase (receipt) and a short written description of the fault and its time of occurrence. If the defect is covered by the warranty, your product will either be repaired or replaced by us. The repair or replacement of a product does not signify the beginning of a new warranty period. Warranty period and statutory claims for defects The warranty period is not prolonged by repairs effected under the warranty. This also applies to replaced and repaired components. Any damage and defects present at the time of pur- chase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs carried out after expiry of the warranty period shall be subject to a fee. Scope of the warranty This appliance has been manufactured in accordance with strict quality guidelines and inspect- ed meticulously prior to delivery. The warranty covers material faults or production faults. The warranty does not extend to prod- uct parts subject to normal wear and tear or fragile parts such as switches, batteries, baking moulds or parts made of glass.NZPS 3 A1 ■ 22
The warranty does not apply if the product has been damaged, improperly used or improper- ly maintained. The directions in the operating instructions for the product regarding proper use of the product are to be strictly followed. Uses and actions that are discouraged in the operat- ing instructions or which are warned against must be avoided. This product is intended solely for private use and not for commercial purposes. The warranty shall be deemed void in cases of misuse or improper handling, use of force and modifica- tions / repairs which have not been carried out by one of our authorised Service centres. Warranty claim procedure To ensure quick processing of your case, please observe the following instructions: ■ Please have the till receipt and the item number (e.g. IAN 12345) available as proof of purchase. ■ You will find the item number on the type plate, an engraving on the front page of the instructions (bottom left), or as a sticker on the rear or bottom of the appliance. ■ If functional or other defects occur, please contact the service department listed either by telephone or by e-mail. ■ You can return a defective product to us free of charge to the service address that will be provided to you.
