How to clean the DeLonghi Vertical Edge fan heater?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool down. Use a soft dry cloth to clean the exterior surfaces. Never use water, solvents, or abrasive products. For the grilles, a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush can be used.

What to do if the appliance turns off by itself?

This is usually due to the overheat safety device. Unplug the appliance, wait a few minutes, check that the air intake and outlet grilles are not obstructed, then plug it back in. If the problem persists, contact DeLonghi customer service.

Can I use an extension cord with this heater?

It is not recommended to use an extension cord. If necessary, use an extension cord in good condition, of sufficient cross-section (at least 1.5 mm²) and not exceeding the maximum power indicated. Make sure the extension cord is fully unwound to avoid overheating.

Is the appliance safe to use in a child's room?

Yes, but under supervision. Children under 3 years old should not approach without supervision. Children aged 3 to 8 can turn the appliance on/off if it is installed correctly and under adult supervision. Caution: some parts become very hot.

How to activate the anti-freeze function?

The anti-freeze function is usually selected by turning the thermostat to the minimum position (often a snowflake symbol). The appliance then maintains a temperature of about 5°C to protect against frost.

The fan continues to run after turning off the heating, is this normal?

Yes, this is normal. Some models are equipped with a device that delays the fan stop by a few seconds to dissipate residual heat and protect internal components.

What safety distance must be maintained around the appliance?

Do not place any fabric, curtain, or flammable material within 1 meter of the air outlet grille. The appliance must not be installed directly under a power outlet.

Can I use the appliance in a small room like a bathroom?

No, it is prohibited to use the appliance near showers, bathtubs, sinks, or swimming pools. In addition, do not use it in a room smaller than 4 m² if occupied by persons unable to leave the room on their own.

How to store the heater after the heating season?

Make sure the appliance is off and unplugged. Let it cool down completely. Clean it with a dry cloth. Store it in a dry place away from dust. Do not place anything on the appliance.

What to do if the remote control stops working?

First check the batteries: replace them with new AAA batteries. Make sure the remote control is pointed towards the appliance's receiver and that no obstacle blocks the signal. If the problem persists, contact customer service.

A) If your appliance comes fitted with a plug, it will incorporate a 13 Amp fuse. If it does not fit your socket, the plug should be cut off from the mains lead, and an appropriate plug fitted, as below.
WARNING: Very carefully dispose of the cut off plug after removing the fuse: do not insert in a 13 Amp socket elsewhere in the house as this could cause a shock hazard.
With alternative plugs not incorporating a fuse, the circuit must be re-fitted when changing the fuse using a 13 Amp Asta approved fuse to BS 1362. In the event of losing the fuse cover, the plug must NOT be used until a replacement fuse cover can be obtained from your nearest electrical dealer. The colour of the correct replacement fuse cover is that as marked on the base of the plug.
B) If your appliance is not fitted with a plug, please follow the instructions provided below:

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:

As the colours of the wires in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the coloured markings identifying the terminals in your plug, proceed as follows:

The wire which is coloured blue must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or coloured black.

The wire which is coloured brown must be connected to the terminal which si marked with the letter L or coloured red.

Failure to observe the warning may result in life threatening injury by electric shock.

• The appliance must not be placed immediately under a fixed power socket.
• Do not use the appliance near showers, bathtubs, sinks, swimming pools, etc.
• If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, an authorised service centre or a qualified electrician in order to eliminate all risk.

Safety functions

- Safety device: the appliance is

fitted with a safety device which switches it off in the event of accidental overheating (e.g. obstruction of air intake and outlet grilles, motor turning slowly or not at all).

To reset, unplug the appliance from the mains socket for a few minutes, remove the cause of overheating then plug in again. If the appliance doesn't work please contact the De'Longhi Customer Service.

- Tip over safety device: Certain models are fitted with a tip-over switch which turns the appliance off if it falls over. To restart the appliance, simply place it upright again.
