Frequently Asked Questions - Pro AM 3 PC AeraMax

How to reset the filter replacement indicator after changing the filter?
Press and hold the illuminated indicator (HEPA, carbon, or accessory) for 3 seconds until a beep, then release. Press again for 3 seconds until a second beep. The light flashes green then turns off. Perform this within 10 seconds after the first step.
What are the different operating modes?
Three modes: Auto Mode (blue icon) uses EnviroSmart™ sensors to adjust speed; Silent Mode (purple icon) uses the 3 lowest speeds; Manual Mode (solid blue icon) allows manually selecting one of 5 speeds.
How to activate or deactivate the PlasmaTRUE technology?
Press and hold the PLASMA indicator until the blue light turns on (activated) or off (deactivated). This technology produces ions to suppress pollutants.
What to do if the unit does not start?
Check that the unit is plugged into a working electrical outlet. Ensure filters are genuine AeroMax® PRO filters (unit will not operate with other brands). Verify the front panel is fully closed and the power switch is in the ON position.
How often should filters be replaced?
The included HEPA filter lasts about 1 year, the activated carbon filter with pre-filter about 6 months. Replacement HEPA filters (ref. 9416601) last 2 years each, carbon filters (ref. 9416501) last 6 years each. Replace when the indicator is solid red.
Can I wash the filters for reuse?
No, never wash the filters. This reduces their effectiveness. Use only genuine AeroMax® PRO replacement filters.
What does the flashing red light on the filter indicator mean?
Flashing red indicates the filter is 90% worn. It is recommended to order a new filter. Solid red means 100% wear, replace the filter immediately.
How to clean the unit?
Wipe the exterior with a soft, dry cloth. For stubborn stains, use a cloth slightly dampened with warm water. Do not use volatile products (benzene, thinners) or abrasive powders. Clean the air inlet and outlet grilles with a dry cloth.
What are the sensor types and their role?
The unit uses EnviroSmart™ technology which combines air quality, motion, and sound sensors to automatically adjust fan speed and maintain clean air.
What is the warranty for the Pro AM 3 PC model?
Limited warranty: particle counters and display screen are warranted for 3 years from date of purchase; all other parts are warranted for 5 years. The warranty does not cover consumable filters or damage caused by non-approved filters.

OPERATION

The air purifier continuously works in automatic mode; the user can select which preference they would like the purifier to use based on the location or desired operation of the air purifier. The purifier will operate through a minimized range of speeds, not exceeding the maximum level selected, in order to run quietly while cleaning the room of contaminants. Once air is cleaned, and no sensors are activated, the unit lowers to energy saving mode to reduce energy consumption and extend the life of the filters.

When Auto Mode is selected, the Auto mode indicator will be blue. This mode uses the EnviroSmart™ technology to monitor the air quality, motion and noise level to adjust the fan speed in order to purify your air as quickly as possible. Once air is cleaned, and no sensors are activated, the unit lowers to energy saving mode to reduce energy consumption and extend the life of the filters.

When Quiet Mode is selected, the Auto Mode indicator will be purple. The machine will continue to use EnviroSmart™ but only utilizes the 3 lowest, most quiet of the 5 fan speeds.

When Manual Mode is selected, the Manual mode indicator will be blue. This mode allows you to choose one of the 5 fan speeds and keep unit at this speed until Auto Mode is chosen/selected. EnviroSmart™ sensors will NOT adjust the fan speed in this mode.

CARE AND MAINTENANCE

CLEANING:

  • Clean external housing as necessary by wiping with a dry, soft cloth; for stains, use a warm, damp cloth.
